Chapter 5: Chapter 4: Acquaintance with Zane.
Greta: Lunch is served.
Zane: Yay, let me help you set up.
Mia was actually thinking about the outside world. She was smiling at herself, completely unaware that Greta and Zane were staring at her.
Greta: Ehhhemm
Mia: Oh, sorry, let's eat.
Zane: So Mia, do you like it here?
Mia: Yes. (she didn't say more)
Zane: Which date were you born Mia?
Mia: 1st December , you?
Zane: 10th September.
Mia: Oh, so you are older than me with months
Zane: And taller too.
He said it as if it was an achievement, and Mia smiled faintly at him
They ate and as soon as they finished, Mia grabbed Zane's arm.
Mia: Let's go!
Greta: Wait!! Zane Luca, take care of my girl, if anything happens to her (with a serious tone and face)....
Zane : Nothing will happen Greta. She is safe with me now.
They were finally outside, and Mia breathed in the fresh air. She still clasped on Zane's arm, not letting go. She didn't even realized how he held on his arm because of the happiness that overwhelmed her.
Zane: what do you like to do?
Mia: I don't know.
Out of the blue, someone disrupted them.
"Zane, Zaneeee" a girl shouted running towards them.
She reached and glared at Mia frowning.
Zane: Oh hi Raquel.
Raquel: Who is this!
She twitched her upper lip, eying the new girl from top to bottom.
Zane: She's my friend.
Mia: Hi, am Mia Bexley
Raquel: Am Remi Raquel. Please let go of my boyfriend's arm.
Mia realized and let go.
Zane: Raquel, are you okay? Yesterday I proposed to you but you rejected me. You called me desperate and you didn't return my love. I have been chasing you for a year now. I want to let you know that I won't be disturbing you again. You barely even talked to me whenever I greeted you.
Raquel: That was then, but you are the right one for me now.
Zane: Really?
(They hugged)
Raquel had jet black g hair, slim eyebrows, heart-like lips, with freckles around her nose. Her eyes were black, with fair skin. She was pretty, and Mia understood why Zane was chasing after her.
Raquel: So, you, why were you holding his arm like that.
She said as she embraced her arms around Zane's waist.
Zane butted in..... "Actually, I am the one who held her arm." he defended Mia.
Mia was surprised because he lied to avoid Raquel's tantrums.
Raquel: Since now we are gonna date, you should not be close to other girls like her.
Zane did not feel happy about this, though he had a crush on Raquel for a year now, she finally accepted him, today! She was the most popular girl in school, and Zane yearned for her so bad. In fact, many boys did.
Mia: Can we be friends, Raquel?..
Raquel : Why are you wearing makeup at such a young age.
Before Mia could answer, "I don't hang out with divas, I only do with natural people." Truth had to be told, Mia's skin, especially her face, looked so glossy and soft. It seemed like make up, her eyebrows looked like mascara instead.
Mia was used to the question, 'why are you wearing make-up?' Raquel was not the first person.
Mia: Am not wearing any makeup.
Her pale soft skin and red plump lips that made people think she had make up. Raquel was clearly jealous.
Zane butted in "Raquel, I will not let you insult my friend, she's naturally pretty and I like it. We'd rather break up than you humiliating Mia Bexley. I've actually liked you since I first set my eyes on you and I don't wanna lose you. Mia is awesome and let's welcome her in the new world.But Raquel, what made you change your mind after all those 8 months of you rejecting me?"
Raquel: As I said Zane, we are meant for each other. Okay natural girl we are friends (she referred to Mia, shrugging her shoulders, clearly jealous).
She sounded rather mean in Mia's ears
