Chapter 3: This is My New Reality
Lyra's Pov
While I and Ambrose were walking toward, wherever it was we were going everything finally hit me. I'm in someone else's body in the- What century even is this? I'm not a petite perfect princess that people don't have a big liking toward.
Butterflies were fluttering in my stomach and my head hurt from all this overthinking. If I'm caught will they kill me for impersonation of royalty? Wait arent I royalty? I'm usually not someone who gets nervous easily but the feeling was like a deer in headlights.
Without even noticing I ran into a pillar.
Where am I? That was one of my hundreds of concerns at the moment. I think the biggest concern is... How did I get here and how the hell do I get back.
I had looked around to see where I was only to realize I was completely lost in a corner of this enormous palace.
Elden's Pov
I had noticed midway through mine and Hile's conversation that Lyra had wandered off, lost in her heads.
I decided to follow her afterward and I had got there just in time to see her run into a pillar and collapse onto the ground. She held her head and looked up. It was apparent she was lost.
Lyra's Pov
It was clear I wasn't going to find the queen's room anytime soon. If I am going to be here I have to memorize where every guard is placed, where most of the rooms are. I don't think I will be getting those flashes of memories very often.
Looking around me I walk to the nearest door and find a busy kitchen, something had smelled so sweet my mouth was begging for a taste.
"May I ask what you were all making in here?" I giggled when I saw them squirming in discomfort
"We received a new recipe from our neighboring kingdom recently and at the king's request, we were asked to try it." The head chef had said shakily.
"May I try it?" I asked them so desperate to try food from the past.
They in a split second all being a wreck went around to get me a piece I held back laughter. However, when I took a bite I nearly vomited. It was nothing like the recipes we have now. It was sour and salty.
"Would any of you mind if I attempt this recipe?" I need them to be at ease with me. Even though it would likely be stunned since the princess didn't actually figure out how to bake or cook. If Lyra stepped into the kitchen it would be like a fish out of water
"Yes Miss" The head chef replied
I had baked and I had when I took a bite I almost cried. I haven't baked in so long, I forgot how nice the food was after it came out. "Would any of you mind if I had just.. kept this?"
"Please, be our guest."
Well onto the next room.
"Thank you for letting me try this." When I turned for the door out of the corner of my eye a new guard. He looked oddly familiar. "Hi Roman," giving him my biggest smile I said.
"So if you're going to drag me back to the queen's room can I at least finish this first? Or maybe would you like to just walk around the castle with me for a day?" I really didn't want to meet the queen in all honesty, and missing 'princess activities' for one measly day couldn't be that bad.
"I hadn't realized you had an interest in seeing the castle, Miss Lyra." I winced at the Miss
"Don't call me Miss... please," No way am I going to deal with being a princess and getting called miss by someone my age.
"Yes of course mis- Lyra," He smiled at me.
Roman had dark black hair, but I could only see if after he took off his helmet, with my permission of course. His eyes were brown and he was tall, I would guess 182cm (6 Feet.) Unlike mine his skin was olive and it suited him well.
He was next to me as we trodded through almost all of the corridors in the castle. I was able to memorize most all of the guard stations, This was a lot for my brain though.
It was nightfall when Roman escorted me back to my bedroom and we walked in.
