Chapter 2: The Abyssal Abzû
It has been two years since the threat of the Anunnaki. And the galaxy has known peace for a good while.
But, as they say; all good things must come to an end. And a new threat has appeared on TrES-2b.
That is also where the group onboard the Shell-Star is heading.
Tirigan was checking his gear, as Tiresias gave him a hug from behind.
" Are you worried? " he said.
" No "
" Good. I would hate to make my pregnant wife worried "
Tiresias is soon about to give birth.
Tirigan now looked into Tiresias' eyes.
" Your eyes may not work. But, they are truly beautiful "
Husband and wife now kissed.
" One last mission, " said Tiresias.
" One last mission " said Tirigan, as he placed his forehead on Tiresias' forehead.
The group had now arrived at the planet.
Tirigan now jumped from Shell-Star, and straight down to the planet.
" Don't worry. He will make it, " said Khaled, as he noticed the nervous look on Tiresias.
Tirigan had now landed on the ground. Everything was dark, so Tirigan lit up his BB.
The planet had a queer atmosphere and there was water everywhere.
Tirigan held the light to the water. And he saw that the water was pitch-black.
" You have arrived, " said a voice.
Tirigan held his BB towards the voice, and he could now see a man.
" Who are you? " Tirigan asked.
" My name is Utu-hengal. I am an agent of Abzû "
said the man with a horrid grin.
" Is Abzû a person? " said Tirigan, confused.
" Yes, but also no. Abzû is everything and everywhere. As a matter of fact. You are standing in the waters of Abzû "
" I don't have time for this. Where is this Abzû!? " yelled Tirigan.
Utu-hengal calmly said;
" Did you not hear a word of what I just said? "
Tirigan jumped up towards Utu-hengal, in an attempt to kill him.
However, he was held in place by seaweed and tentacles, which both sprang forth from the dark water.
Tirigan tried to get free, but Utu-hengal now cut one of Tirigan's legs off.
The I-dej cried out in pain.
" Come now. That could not have hurt? " said Utu-hengal, as he cut the other leg off.
" Now that would hurt, " said Utu-hengal with a smile, as Tirigan fell to the water.
Tirigan reached for his BB, but Utu-hengal now cut off his arm.
" Coulomb's Palm! " yelled Tirigan, as he tried to hit Utu-hengal with his palm. But, Utu-hengal now sliced the remaining arm off.
Tirigan had now lost all four limbs.
" Tsk, tsk. Are you in any pain? " said Utu-hengal.
Tirigan just glared at Utu-hengal.
" Wow. If eyes could kill "
" Just kill me and be done with it "
" Kill you? " said Utu-hengal, confused; " No my dear fellow. You are not going to die. Abzû has big plans for you "
For the first time in his life. Tirigan felt fear in his heart and soul.
" What kind of plans…? " he uttered, as the anticipation alone was enough to kill him.
With a joker's grin, Utu-hengal said;
" You will be reborn. And faithfully serve the Abyssal Abzû "
Tentacles and seaweed now started to pull Tirigan into the dark waters.
" No! No! Please! Nooo! " cried out Tirigan, as he was slowly being pulled into the Abzû.
From that day onward. Tirigan was no more. In his place, Dagon Vesta was born.
Everything was quiet in the Shell-Star. Till the sound of a door opening could be heard.
" He is back! " yelled Tiresias with joy in her heart.
A smile of relief could be seen on Hans Sloane's face. But that smile quickly turned to a look of horror, as he saw the glowing red eyes coming from the Facemask of Sargon, which Dagon Vesta was wearing.
" My love! " cried Tiresias, as she felt the body of her once husband.
Tiresias now felt something at her chest. She ran her hands on the object and realized that it was Dagon's BB.
" My love? "
A red beam of light now ran through Tiresias.
Hans gasped in horror.
" My love… " uttered Tiresias, as she fell to the floor.
Dagon did not even look down at Tiresias. He simply walked over her, and straight towards Hans. Poor Hans could not move, for fear, with a mix of horror, had stunned him.
That was when the whole spaceship started to shake, as Bozo ran through the wall and straight into Dagon, sending his former master flying into the other room.
Bozo now roared at Hans, snapping him back to reality.
With that done.
The mechanical Tyrannosaurus rex now walked over to face Dagon Vesta.
Hans now noticed that Tiresias was somehow still alive.
He ran to her aid and saw that she was bleeding a lot.
Hans picked her up, and now started to walk towards the emergency spacepod.
" What happened? Where is Tirigan? " uttered Tiresias through the pain.
Hans could not bring himself to tell the truth. So, he instead said;
" An enemy had made his way into the ship. Tirigan is currently beating his ass for what he did to you "
A smile of relief and hope could be seen on Tiresias' face.
Dagon Vesta now got back on his feet, as Bozo charged at him. Dagon used the Force to shut Bozo's mouth shut. He then proceeded to slice Bozo in half with his BB.
Hans now laid Tiresias on the healing table.
" The children can still be saved. You have to get me to the River Styx, " said Tiresias.
" Will do " said Hans, as he tried to turn the pod on.
Hans then heard the sound of footsteps. He looked back and saw Dagon walking towards them.
" Come on. Please work! " exclaimed Hans, as the pressure was on.
The doors to the spacepod closed, as it was ready to take off.
" Ha! It worked! That was… lucky… " said Hans, as he turned around. And on the other side of the door stood Khaled with a smile.
" No… " uttered Hans, as the spacepod took off.
" What is going on? " said Tiresias.
Hans now tried to get his emotions in control, as he said;
" Tirigan, Bozo and Khaled are all three fighting the enemy. They will meet us at the River "
" Thank the gods " uttered Tiresias, as she cried tears of joy.
Khaled was now standing before Dagon Vesta.
" Strike me down and I shall beco- "
Before Khaled could finish. Dagon ran his BB right through Khaled's heart.
Khaled now coughed up some blood, as his final words were;
" My luck ran out… "
The spacepod landed on the planet which had the river.
Hans rushed to the river. Where he then gently placed Tiresias into the waters.
A large bubble now covered Tiresias. And a moment later, Hans could hear two babies crying.
Thankfully.
Tiresias was able to give birth. She gave birth to twins; a boy and a girl. Tiresias called the girl; Euphrates. And the boy got the name; Tigris.
" Please. Make sure that they get to their father. And tell Tirigan that I love him, " said Tiresias.
With tears in his eyes, Hans said;
" I will "
Tiresias now breathed her last, as she sank into the river.
Hans could now hear a strange sound. He looked up and saw the Shell-Star coming crashing down towards the planet.
Hans quickly got into the spacepod, where he gently laid the two babies into a crib. He then flew far away from the planet.
Dagon Vesta walked out of the wreckage of the once Shell-Star.
Dagon noticed the spacepod. He was about to use the Force, but before he could. A wall of fire covered him.
" I can not let you do that, " said Gibil, a long-time friend of the group. And the god of fire.
Dagon swept away the flames.
And a mighty battle now began, which turned the poor planet into something that looked a lot like Mustafar.
Gibil had no chance of saying; I have the high ground, as Dagon was always right behind him.
Dagon Vesta was able to get the upper-hand on Gibil, and he was about to deliver the killing blow. But he stopped, as Utu-hengal said;
" Do not kill him "
Dagon immediately stopped, as Utu-hengal walked over to the fallen and barely alive Gibil.
" No. It would be a waste. You could be quite useful, after you have been reborn "
A pool of abyssal water now appeared under Gibil. The black liquid sucked Gibil within.
" So. They got away, " said Utu-hengal, as he was facing Dagon.
But the once man was quiet.
" You can talk, right? " said Utu-hengal, a little bit confused.
But Dagon Vesta remained quiet.
" Oh well " said Utu-hengal, as he shrugged his shoulders; " Now. With you by my side. The entire galaxy shall be dragged into the Abyssal Abzû "
Years would go by.
And things did Indeed seem bleak for the cosmos and the people.
But.
Worry not everyone. A new hope is on the horizon.
