Chapter 2: Entering the dungeon

After a while, there was a knock on the door requesting for Allen.

Allen ears perked up and immediately grabbed his magic spell book and said goodbye to the orphanage staffs.

There was a familiar figure that Allen could recognise as the person who was accompanying him to the dungeon was one of his close uncles that he had always teamed up with, feeling a sense of relief of seeing someone familiar, he started a conversation.

"Uncle, how's your day today?" he said in a chirpy tone.

"I've been making stacks of money here and there ya know? Like usual." his uncle bragged.

"I've never been to a B tier dungeon!! I'm so so so excited"

"When you're me you always go to these types of dungeons, since my rank is so high in the town."

"Uncle! isn't your squad in the top 5 best group in this Town?"

"How did you know? Uncle is the best earth user in this Town you know? If you're ever in trouble i can immediately make them disappear" he bragged.

"Haha! Alright, uncle" Allen replied in admiration .

Allen started climbing the mountain while the uncle stopped and look at Allen extremely confused.

"Why are you climbing the mountain?"

'what am I supposed to do? Fly up the mountain?' Allen thought and tried to maneuver himself with his weak wind magic and fell to the ground with a thud. As he had never used his wind affinity much before due to not finding a need for doing so.

"Ouch ouch" he groaned in pain as he looked at his butt making sure there were no injuries.

"What are you even doing??" the uncle laughed out loud and helped Allen up.

"I can use the earth element to transport us over to the other side of the mountain." the uncle finally explained as he lifted his hand and grabbed Allen with him. Stone and dirt starting gathering under them making them go higher and higher and soon building a bridge across the mountain.

Allen stared at the handy made bridge in admiration and gave his uncle a thumbs up.

"Shouldn't you save your mana uncle?" Allen remarked after a while.

"It's okay the dungeon is only a B tier no need to worry!" the uncle brushed it off like it was nothing but he had spend too much magic showing off that he had used half of his mana.

"Okay!!"

Allen and his uncle reached the dungeon where a group of 8 people were waiting for them. The dungeon was huge and brown in color, blending in with the mountain. Allen walked up to the dungeon and a sign appeared infront of him.

[Not enough power. Power needed 300/2000]

Power is an indicator for magic. A person carries a specific amount of magic depending on how much they trained and what rank they are. Most low C tiers have around 400 power, while Allen only had 300 as so he was the lowest of lowest in the C tier.

"Should we get going?" a guy behind Allen said, the man was suited in a full armor and carried a huge white silver shield that shined brightly.

The man smiled and introduced himself as Felix, the leader of this raid as he gestured his members to come over and enter the gate.

The whole group entered the dungeon as they stood in formation, Allen trailing behind the tanks. He looked around in awe as this would proabaly be a rare time he would be in a B tier dungeon at this age.

Allen looked around and saw holes all around the dungeon, the whole place was covered in dirt and had holes in it making him think that this was an ant nest.

After walking for a while, the encountered their first magical beast, a large bulldog ant.

Everybody starting to rush in, the 3 tanks standing front while 4 close range fighter rush in behind and attack the large colony of bulldog ants. The two bursting damage mage starting casting their spells.

Earth starting to drown the ants and fire starting to burn the ants entire nest. The warriors were having trouble with stepping into the fight as the fire was too hot, while the tanks took some damage from defending and the heat.

Allen started casting a group healing spell and a damage boost and the group starting wrapping things up faster.

"Great job Allen!" his uncle said and gave him a thumbs up making Allen blush a little.

They continued to venture deeper into the cave and came to a halt.

The leader of the group put a finger over his mouth and whispered "The Queen room is probably in here.."

Dungeons often have creatures of the same background and are often the same species,in some rare cases the species could be entirely different. They only happen in a higher level dungeon A tier or higher.

At the end of every dungeon, theres always a king and a queen of the dungeon. If you don't defeat them, they will reproduce more and more and the entirely dungeon would be rebreed again. These Queens and Kings often drop valuable items that could be sold at a high price at a auction or if the item is less valuable it can be sold at and average artifact collecter.

The King and Queen drops mainly revolve around artifacts. These artifacts can be swords, wands, weapons and many more miscellaneous items that would help Adventurers along the way. Prices for the artifacts can range from hundreds of dollars to thousands, depending on how strong and useful the artifacts are.

Adventurers make profit off artifacts that Queens and Kings drop on the dungeons. They could either keep them for their own use,or sell off.

The Queen of the dungeon that Allen is currently exploring now, has been devoured by a pack of hellspawn wolves from the gate of abyss glowing from the ground.

The squad looked at the sight before their eyes in shock and immediately declared a retreat but the walls suddenly clashed and blocked the way out.

Allen's uncle used his earth magic to move the walls, but to no avail. The hellspawns starting to notice the group of prey right infront of them and feast their eyes upon them.

Licking their lips in anticipation, making the squad members extremely terrified. Some broke down crying, some tried to cast magic but the magic was absorbed into the abyss gate.

Suddenly, Allen felt a tug at his shirt, looking behind it was his uncle bawling his eyes out and saying words that Allen could not understand in the heat of the moment.

"I have a daughter to take care of at home." was the words Allen couldn't hear. It wasn't said in a sad tone but a rather cold tone that made the other squad members shiver in fear, who witnessed the terrible sight.
