Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Big brother
Next day
Rex, with his parents, was eating breakfast in casual attire, unlike his gym outfit. Today, his brother was coming home. He only completed the quota of his exercise with any combat or sword training. His emotion was complex just like when he met his parents after coming from a different world.
In his previous life, the professor's son could be called an acquaintance to him as he was not this close to him. His brother Ryu was a genius student who got enrollment in I-Island Academy at just the age of 13 however the big difference between him and Rex. Rex had a quirk now but Ryu didn't. How will Ryu react now that Rex had a powerful quirk? Will Ryu be jealous?
Rex was in his thoughts when he felt a hand on his head and saw Yato looking at him with a smile.
"Your brother is a loving and caring person. Be open with him. I am sure you will like him." Yato said.
Rex nodded. He was close to his parent but not that much to ask for any kind of help. He was prepared if his brother showed any kind of negative feeling towards him. Rex remembered his brother from his memories and Rex could tell that Ryu was happy to go in person.
They were interrupted when the door was open and a boy came in.
"I AM HERE!" The boy said with both of hand on waist and chest pulled like All Might. He had blonde hair like Bisha and blue eyes like Yato exact opposite of Rex who had black hair and purple eyes.
Rex and his parents were first stared at Ryu then resumed eating like he was not even there.
"Oh come one…" Ryu's shoulders were down looking at the reaction of his family.
"Sit and join us," Bisha said.
Ryu nodded and sat beside Rex. Sebas also followed taking the briefcase to Ryu's room.
"Hello~ Re-kun, I hear you are doing great. Good to see you are back." Ryu said rubbing Rex's hair. At this point, Rex got used to being petted by his parents since he was the youngest in the household.
"Thank you Nii-sama." Rex respectfully said. "Our names only have three letters so you should call me Rex instead," Rex said. Seriously, Re-kun?
"Awe~ my ototo is calling me with respect. Don't need for honorifics-"
"Ryu, I think you are forgetting your table manners. Be quiet." Bisha interrupted Ryu.
"Hai!" Ryu saluted and decided to eat. Rex chuckled seeing this. His mom had the most dominance in the house despite being the only female. One word from her was the law of the household.
After the heartwarming breakfast, Rex and his family sat in the drawing-room.
Rex was sitting on Ryu's lap while Bisha and Yato were sitting on the opposite side. When Rex asked why he was sitting on his lap, Ryu said, "There is no way I am letting go of my sweet ototo now that he is recovered."
And so Ryu started to tell his stories in his academy. He was praised highly by professors while some students jealous of him. People there were all around the world and seeing a 13 years old boy learning with them was odd for them.
"There were also those boys who tried to bully me but I already called the head professor, when he saw this, those guys were almost got expelled but I saved them. Now they are my followers and will help me in the student council election."
Yato and Rex smirked while Bisha shook her head.
"I didn't train you to pull these kinds of tricks," Bisha said with a sigh.
"David didn't come with you?" Yato asked.
"He will come in a few days."
"Is he the professor you were talking about, dad?" Rex asked.
"Yeah, he was my junior when I was in California. He is a good man *plus he has a cute daughter*." Yato whispered the last part
Bisha pinched his waist and said, "Don't speak this in front of Rex!"
"Aao… but he will be a great man like his dad. He has to get some resistance from cute girls. It is also training, haha." Yato said with a wry smile.
"Anyway, Rex, why don't I show you some cool stuff?" Saying this Ryu took Rex in his arms to his room. Rex knew that his next few days were not going to be peaceful ones.
Ryu then showed some good hero support items as well as blueprints for his next ideas. However, Rex was not interested in any of that. He had created many kinds of machine which changed the human way of seeing things. Things in front of him were nothing more than toys. What took his interest was some theory paper.
"You can understand them?" Ryu asked curiously. He tried his best to show his invention but his brother was not interested in any of it.
"No… But they seem interesting. I have a feeling that you have put the effort into it." Rex said.
He can't say that he understands atomic formulas, which was true considering that he only has his memories and not knowledge, but he can guess that it was something new. If Rex tried to learn more, he could create the formula for antimatter but there is no way he is putting his life in danger ever again. Not only that, but his new family will also suffer the consequences.
"Sigh* it is useless. I have tried to consult with the head of the science department but he said my theory was hopeless since it was lacing many exclusive laws. David-san doesn't have expertise in this so he can't help. I will ask dad."
"Nii-sama, I am sure you will succeed. Believe it!" Rex said with a generic smile.
"Awe~ my cute ototo-"
"Be serious please."
"Aao…"
Rex looked at Ryu before asking, "Nii-sama, I have been meaning to ask something?"
"Yeah, what is it?"
"How to say…"
"Me being quirkless?"
"Huh?" Rex looked at Ryu with widen eyes.
"Haha, I know you must have expected me to be a grumpy and rowdy type of guy right?" Ryu asked but Rex didn't respond. "Well you see, it will be a lie if I said I am not jealous of you or people with quirks but I know that everything has its purpose. Like I don't have a quirk but I am intelligent. For me, quirk is just a weight that someone bestowed on humans to see the fun. Sometimes when I saw people who get negative effects from their quirks, I felt grateful that I don't have one. It's quite complicated to explain…"
Rex just nodded. He controlled his emotions not to show surprise reaction since for Ryu, Rex was just a five years old child and child can't understand philosophy… but can train like professional fighters.
"So what do you like to become in the future?"
"Hmm… let's see… maybe prime minister, hehe."
"Woa really?" This time Rex reacted like a child.
"Haha, it's just a pipe dream. Its lust… something seems wrong about this society. Mom trained me to defend myself from discrimination or bullying but when I see some other people being discriminated against like this and no one stopping it, I felt bad. Even if I save those, they felt envious of me and think that it is because of my mom that no one says anything to me. Even then I felt like this society is heading in the wrong direction yet no one is pointing this out. I want to change this." Ryu said with a sad face but then felt a hand on his head and saw little Rex patting Ryu with small hands.
"Nii-sama, it is not a pipe dream but a hope for every person who is quirkless like you. If you decided to achieve this dream, consider me your partner. I will be supporting you." Rex said with a smile.
With Ryu in government, Rex's plan could escalate smoothly but only if Ryu really makes it to this position. It was indeed only a pipe dream at this moment.
Ryu first stared at Rex and saw hope first time in his life. He didn't know why but he knew very well that with Rex, he could achieve his dream, he could change this world.
Ryu smiled and hugged Rex. "Thank you, my sweet ototo…"
After that, they chatted all day with Ryu happily teaching some of his methods to escape from Bisha's tor- training regimes.
