Chapter 8: Almost
"She told me, you made a move on her".
"So, what"?
"Next time, she tells me that, you and I can go at it once again".
"What are you even talking about Jason"? Andre asked because he did not why Marcus and Jason were arguing. "Keep your nose in your coffee mate" Jason responded with an angry tone.
"Marcus last time I let it go and this time, I'll knock your teeth out". Marcus moves away from his locker and walked up to Jason "I'd like to see you try". Jason smiled and backed off "You are not a coward anymore, I see" After saying that Jason left the hallway and went outside.
Andre finally broke his silence and everyone who was watching started moving and do whatever they had to do "So what was that about"? Marcus closes his locker after taking some of his gym clothes out of it "The girl he was with last time, she lives next to me and yesterday when you were inside with Jenna, I talked to her".
"Well, I guess she did not like it all" Andre bend over to tie his shoe"
"I can see that and it's my fault anyway" "You got everything in your bag" Marcus asked Andre just to make if they had everything for their class. "Yeah, I'm all good" Andre responded. They walked and made starts talking on their way to the gym which is next to the Choir class.
"Man, I hope that there ain't no new student because I don't feel like helping nobody" Marcus scratches his head. "Well, If you don't feel like it just tells the teacher that" Marcus puts his hands in his gray hoodie because it was kinda cold out there.
They finally made it to the gym "Finally, come here Marcus" the coach says out loud while he was talking to another student". "I'm coming coach" Marcus responded. "Be right back, man. "ok" Andre said.
Marcus approached where the Coach was standing "coach what's the matter"?
"I need your help to" The student the coach was talking to turned her head to the direction coach was looking. Marcus was surprised seeing Jennifer in his school and neither was Jennifer. The coach looked at their expression "I guess you guys already know each other". "Yes," Jennifer replied looking up to Marcus. the coach moves away.
"Let's get through with it" Marcus did not want to waste a moment next to her. "You need an Orange shirt and Black shorts, got it"?
"Yes and sorry about yesterday" Jennifer looks away while a smile on her face. "Are apologizing for your boyfriend too?
Jennifer looked back at Marcus again in shock because she was confused "What are you talking about"?
"I don't think we have anything else to say, so tell the coach that you know what this class requires from now on" Marcus turned his back. "Look, I don't know the deal between you and Jason or anything, and from the start, I should have figured out you two were not friends due to the awkwardness that was in the room and I'm not him or his pet, just talk to me"
Marcus ignored her and walked away.
Marcus and Andre were both sitting on the benches inside the gym watching other students play Basketball. "Who was that chick"? Andre asked. "The girl me and Jason were arguing over". "What? she looks so happy talking to you". Andre mentions. "She is a difficult person to understand, first she was freaky, yesterday she was disrespectful and just now she was respectful". Andre started laughing "Sounds like a witch to me" Andre looks up "She coming". Marcus groaned with his head down." What does she want"? "maybe she's feeling guilty or something. Andre responded.
"Can I sit"?
"Yes ma'am but next to me," Andre said smiling up to her.
"Can you move a little bit"? Andre moves his leg a little bit and Jennifer sat between both of them. "Marcus, I'ma play with them fools down there be right back" Andre moved away leaving them to talk to each other, and went inside the changing room.
Jennifer was swinging her foot because the bench was high.
"So?" Jennifer coughed to get Marcus's attention. "What's the point sitting if your feet can't touch the floor"? Jennifer smiled "It's called sitting, not touched the floor". "And by the way this school is not half bad, great basketball court and all that". Jennifer said "So, you like basketball, huh? Marcus asked looking at her sitting next to her. "Pretty much, look how I dress, I'm a tomboy". "what makes you think, that you are a tomboy"? Marcus asked.
"Since I was a kid, I've always been wearing pants and jeans so that's why I'm a tomboy and I look cuter dressing like that". Jennifer moves closer to Marcus with her eyes wide open and her mouth half-open trying to lure him in, Marcus took the bait and approaches her while holding her hip with his left hand, she was trembling like she was going to have something that she truly wanted and suddenly the bell rings then she turned her head and grabbed her bag and ran outside.
"Oh my God, Jason might want to see that" someone took a picture of them almost kissing.
