Chapter 3: CHAPTER THREE
He took my hands into his, his strong and sturdy hands made me feel safe. I couldn't help squeezing it to see how soft it was.
“You don't have to spy at me from your window, you are always welcomed to my home”
“Do you live alone, I haven't seen your parents ” I asked looking up at him
“You ask too much but I live alone” He said climbing his motorcycle”
“Okay” I replied getting on the back of the bike then we zoomed off.
Some Minutes later we reached school, I don't know how Morningstar sneaked us in but he did.
“I want to tell you something” He said stopping me as I was about to go into the class. Fortunately no teacher was around.
“What” I asked facing him
“Don't trust easily. I could have killed you and buried you without anyone finding out” He said coldly, a wicked smile plastered on his face.
Those words brought cold to my body, I couldn't help shivering at how stupid I was. I didn't even wait to hear his next words as I ran quickly into the class.
The next day I avoided Morningstar as much as I could, his words yesterday got me thinking and I couldn't think of any reason why he would say such a thing.
Truthfully, I was really scared. Maybe I've been really careless, confusing emotions disturbing my thoughts. I looked at Morningstar from my locker and felt my heart skip a bit, definitely confusing emotions. All nights I just couldn't get his picture out of my head, it tormented me till this morning.
“Eleven are you okay” Charity asked
“I'm fine, why do you ask”
“Well you've been staring at him for the past few minutes” She said pointing at Morningstar
“No Of course not, I was looking at the poster” I said in embarrassment.
“uh-huh” Charity said not believing me.
“Anyway there is a party going on this Saturday. Please can you come with me”
Charity is just like me, shy and socially awkward maybe that was why we clicked so much. We attended the same church as her dad was a pastor. I knew she needed me as an alibi to go to this party.
“Uhhhmm.. I don't know I have to ask Chris and Thea”
“I'm sure they would be okay with it. I mean they love you so much” She said pushing her glasses up.
“Okay if they accept, I will go with you”
“Thank you very much girl” She responded her black eyes staring into mine.
“Let's go to the cafeteria” I said linking my arms with hers.
“The gist of today. Queen bee broke up with her boyfriend” Charity started in gossip mode. I wasn't really interested in these sort of things so I zoomed out thinking about green eyes
Late in the night I just couldn't sleep I was so uncomfortable and disturbed, turning and tossing before I finally fell asleep into a long dream of when I was a child.
“Lee Lee Lee ” A child of about nine called smiling and laughing.
“honey ” The child with my resemblance answered laughing
“Do you want my precious gold” He said pointing to his heart, green eyes staring deeply at me.
I woke up with a start my hands hitting the bed lamp beside me . The sound caused Chris and Thea to run to my room.
“Eleven Are you Okay ” Chris asked, sitting on my bed with Thea standing behind him.
“ I'm fine just a dream” I answered
“Bad or good ” He asked, his face filled with worry.
“I don't know but don't worry, I'm really fine”
“Maybe we should go to the therapist” Thea suggested looking at her husband.
“Yea tomorrow after class I would pick you up. Is this okay with you” He asked gently.
“I'm okay with it Chris” I said looking at both of them.
“Mom Dad is everything alright” Neo asked coming out of his room, rubbing his eyes.
“Everything is fine baby go back to your room” Thea assured him
“Okay” Neo replied heading back to his room.
“Thea Chris I'm fine, please go to bed”
“Okay darling. If you need anything we are just a room away” Thea said dragging her worried husband along with her.
After they left, I laid on the bed thinking about those haunting green eyes. I wondered if it was all a coincidence. I couldn't sleep a wink throughout the night, my thoughts filled with notions upon notions about Morningstar.
I walked like a zombie around the house due to the fact that I haven't had enough sleep. Black eye bag circled by eyes and my skin looked worn out. I tried to be more lively but I failed to do so.
“Darling are you sure you are up for school” Thea asked, rubbing my face.
“Am going to be fine Thea” I said picking up an apple from the plate on the table.
“A little bit of concealer would do you good” Thea said pointing at the dark circles under my eyes.
“Yeah it would, please help me with it” I said taking a huge bite off the apple.
Thea quickly grabbed her makeup bag eager to destroy my face since I despise make up. She smiled happily while she applied layer upon layer of the liquid powder, all I could do was endure and pray I survive this hell.
“All done” Thea said pushing a mirror into my hands. I couldn't say anything for good Three minutes, I couldn't believe that this was my face,My golden skin was looking ravishing. My eyes looked bigger and bolder due to the eyeliner and mascara.
“Oh my God Thea, Make up is the devil himself. This is amazing” I said still looking at the mirror.
“Told you so. Are you interested, I could teach you” Thea said grinning from ear to ear.
“Mummy what have you done with Eleven” Owen asked, looking confused.
“Nothing baby. Mummy made her beautiful”.
“No thanks, I don't have the energy for it but you are good. Damn!” I said, rejecting her offer.
“Are you guys done let's go, Neo please come down and Eleven please stop staring at the mirror” Chris Shouted.
I dropped the mirror and quickly picked up my bag from the table, running to call shotgun on the front seat.
“But I want to seat in the front” Neo whined entering the back seat.
“You should've ran fast the way your sister did“ Chris tell his son laughing.
“Next week you can call shotgun, for now seat with mummy and Owen” Thea consoled Neo.
“You make me sound like a child ” Neo complained.
“Honey to me you are my baby” Thea said laughing. We all laughed at Neo while Chris dropped us in school.
I rested in the nurse office using women's problem as an excuse to catch some extra sleep. It was really refreshing as I regained some of my energy.
“Are you sick” A smooth familiar voice asked
“What are you doing here” I asked when I noticed that it was Morningstar.
“You've been avoiding me ” He said sitting on the bed.
I quickly sat upright adjusting my clothes and hair.
“I really didn't mean to avoid you but the statement you made, made me afraid. It not that I'm scared of you, I'm just trying be careful”. I said, squeezing my hands.
“The statement I made was to make you sober not to scare you”He said smiling gently
“Oh...” I replied confused on what to say.
“You look different today” Morningstar said staring deeply at my face as if trying to find the source.
“Nothing, Thea I mean my mom applied a little makeup on me maybe that's why” I said, blushing really hard.
“You look good” He complimented getting up.
“Thank you” I replied shyly
“Class is about to begin” He said heading out, I quickly ran after him, happy that he was close to me .
“Wait ” I ran to him holding his hands stopping him from moving.
“Uhhmm You look good too” I said with embarrassment. I was further embarrassed when he didn't say anything for a minute then continued his walk down the hallway, I had no choice but to follow him. My face sad and downcast that I did not see the little smile he had on.
