Chapter 9: "I..." (9)
Lastly on -Rejected By My Mate-
I heard violent knocks at the door which was followed by a loud thud from outside, I was still frozen in my place when another thump took place. I urgently got up from my seat and ran to the door opened it and got ready for any kind of scenario but what I saw next made my blood run cold.
{Mazakeen's POV}
There standing right in front of me, laying on the cold wooden floor of the porch was non-other than Micheal Valenti, the one that the pack thought was long gone with his mate.
"I- Micheal WHAT HAPPENED" I looked at him in shock, blood was dripping from his head, claw marks all over his face, and what seemed to be a very deep bite mark on his left leg. He looked up at me with teary eyes and opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. It was like the time has stopped, I was now standing in front of my deeply injured friend, just staring at him with wide eyes.
"Maz-Mazakeen" my name came out of his mouth as a simple mere whisper, which if I didn't have werewolf hearing I wouldn't be able to hear. Something flashed in his eyes when I looked directly at him but I just ignored it. I took his arm then tried helping him up, at which he hissed in pain, I put his arm around my neck then placed my palm on his waist, and led him in slowly, so I don't cause more pain, I placed him on the couch and laid his head on a comfortable pillow. I then went into the bathroom to grab a first aid kit and some clean wet towels. When I got back to him, he was already knocked out, so I hurriedly cleaned his wounds with the towels then bandaged him up after using a disinfectant, I then proceeded to change his shirt which was shredded to pieces, I still couldn't fail but to notice his abs, I stared at them for a moment but then quickly diverted my gaze on his face, Micheal was a very nice person but he didn't like showing it, he preferred to keep it to himself just like when I first met John, but after you get closer to John and you get to know him better he opens up, but in this case, not Micheal.
After making sure he was alright, I went up the stairs to check up on Titi. I slowly opened the door, without any noise, then stepped in. Right there standing in her crib, Titi was looking at me with her big brown doe eyes I fully entered the room, and held her in my arms then started rocking her at a slow pace. Titi started giggling and trying to grab my face I realized that she didn't want to sleep, after all, she slept throughout the whole day.I got out of her room then headed to the kitchen with Titi still in my arms. I then proceeded to make some milk, after checking that it had the right temperature, I put it in Titi's bottle and helped her drink it.
{Micheal's POV}
I woke up feeling dizzy, I sat up slowly as pain shot through my abdomen, I looked around me and realised where i was, so I quickly got up from the couch and ran to where I could hear a voice. Standing there was Mazakeen holding a baby in her hand while giggling and holding with her other free hand a baby bottle filled with milk. Suddenly a chill ran down my spine, I could smell the most intoxicating smell, I've ever smelled in my whole life. It was a mix of lavender and peppermint with a hint of cookies straight out of the oven(don't fight it, those are the most amazing smells ever!). All I could do was stare at Mazakeen in awe. When she noticed me, she quickly ran over and engulfed me in a bear hug after setting the baby down on a child safety chair. I snuggled my nose in her neck and took a big sniff. She noticed what I did and let go of me then put her arms around my neck and smiled at me.
"It's been soo long, since I last seen you, why did you go and where did y- hey what's wrong?" She asked still looking me straight in the eyes, with worry coming off of her. She then put her hand on my forehead.
"OH MY GODDNESS! YOU'RE BURNING!" I quickly got out of my maze and looked at her as she led me back to the common room.
{Mazakeen's POV}
I took in his temperature with my hand and oh my goodness her was literaly burning alive. I quickly sat him down on the couch and pushed him to lay down, I ran to the bathroom, took a wet clothe and got back to Micheal, I carefully placed the wet material on his forehead.
"Alright now that you're awake you have some explaining to do!" I looked at him with a serious look.
"I-I really was looking for my mate but I couldn't find her anywhere, but then I went into a pack territory by mistake, they thought I was a rogue that came to attack them, so they locked me up and tortured me for answers, but once they couldn't get anything they knocked me out. When I woke up I found myself in the middle of the woods but I already healed, I didn't know how long I was out for, but I tried to find you guys, then I saw the pack house and you know the rest" I looked at Micheal with pity in my eyes. As he stared at his feet. I slowly reached out and hugged him.
"Hey it's fine, we'll find whoever that pack that tortured you is and we'll make them pay, alright? And after that we will go back to normal yea?" I looked at him straight in the eyes then ruffled his already messy hair.
"How about yours at hi to Titi? Hum I'm sure you'll love her!"
