Chapter 5: Chapter 5
[A/N: This fanfic is written for fun so just read it to pass time okay.]
Thor POV
We stopped by Ragnar's ship by the looks of it Lagertha wanted to rub it in Ragnar's face that they reached west before him.I shook my head at that but as we waited we saw Ragnars Warband returning with Christian monks as slaves and amount them was Athelstan.
Ragnar who saw us was shocked as he quickly came towards and questioned "How are you here? Did you follow us?"Lagertha who heard this scoffed "Don't think you are the only one who knows how to sail to the west. Thor here knows how to come here to a matter of fact we came here before you."
Ragnar glared at me he was slightly miffed and angry at the fact he was not the first Viking to reach or raid the west. My eyebrows twitched as I thought "Why did I get dragged into this."
Ragnar now turned to me and asked "So you also have a way to reach the west huh."I narrowed my eyes at him as Erik who next to Ragnar quickly pulled him away and whispered "Don't start a fight now."
As I turned away from Ragnar lighting danced in my eyes because of the irritation as all of us got into the ship and sailed off as I looked at Lagertha and asked "Why did you have to bring me into your quarrel."Lagertha sighed "I kinda lost control of my emotions."
We soon returned back home thankfully the seidr's didn't try anything but Lagertha did look at me from time to time.I looked at the sky and thought "It is at least time to get a new summon."I get thoughts projected by Val she was thinking about going on more raids. When we reached Kattegat soon I told my men to take the Loot and give Lagertha her part of the loot.
I was with Val and Lagertha who were hugging the kids and slightly bragging to the kids on how they were the first Vikings to raid the west.I smiled at the interaction as she noticed I was staring at her as I quickly turned away.I went to wash my face I forgot to take Mjolnir with me when I returned I saw Bjorn who saw it tried to lift it but was not able to as he panted and said: "Why..why is this so heavy."I acted confused and asked, "Is it that heavy."Bjorn who saw me nodded as I looked at Gyda and asked "Do you want to see if you can lift it little Valkriye."
Gyda had a confused look as she went and lifted the hammer with ease and said "It is not that heavy."I was holding in my laughter as I questioned "See little bear it is not that heavy."Bjorn scrunched his nose at that as I told Gyda "Little Valkryie now put it down, Let your brother try to lift it again."Gyda did as I said once more Bjorn tried but he was still unable to lift it as he flared at the hammer in frustration Gyda picked it up and laughed at Bjorn poking her tongue out she seemed smug as I said: "See it is not heavy."
I mentally thought "Little Valkriye will be the one will be the one to get Mjolnir if I ever pass it down."
Lagertha POV
I was seeing Thor and my children seeing how Bjorn was unable to lift the hammer while Gyda easily lifted it confirmed my suspicions as I whispered "He really must be the reincarnation of Thor."Val who next to me said, "Even if he is it won't change a thing we both are your friends and don't change how you treat us."
Lagertha who heard this smiled and replied: "Don't worry I will not."Val nodded at that and yelled in Thor's direction "Come on Thor we have to go to Kattegat remember Ragnar's ship will probably be landed there by now."Thor who looked our way simply replied "Let's go then."
[A/N:I understand Lagertha strong independent women but she does have her own insecurities.]
Thors POV
We quickly rode to Kattegat since we know for a fact the Haraldson will call a meeting to discuss Ragnar's raid to the west and I know for a fact Rollo or someone else will rat us out. But I doubt the Haraldson would do anything about that since 1. The chance of angering Thor, 2. He knows the fact I do not desire the position of Jarl and 3. My Warband is the strongest and largest he does not know the exact numbers if he insults me the chances of us leaving or attacking him are there.
So he will not risk it as we made the way to the meeting where we saw all loot Ragnar got from his raid as Ragnar smiled and said "My lord it was easy to take all these things. The priest in the temple had no weapons. They were like babies."Ragnar dragged Asthelan and continued "Here is one of their priests.We captured several of them to sell as slaves."
I shook my head and muttered, "He is underestimating the people of the west."Hearing this Lagertha curiously questioned, "What do you mean Thor."
I looked at Lagertha and said, "I can guess Ragnar only came upon the monks and not other warriors of the west."Lagertha nodded replied, "True we even fought a small group of them they were skilled if not for the fact we had the element of surprise they would have put more fight."
I tuned most of the meeting out with Ragnar telling everyone about treasures in the holy places and many such places existing in the west. But Haraldson tried to get info on how Ragnar found his way to the west but Ragnar deflected the question but the Jarl obviously did not like the answer as he soon told Ragnar he would keep most of the loot.
Rollo did not like the fact all the treasure was going to go to the Jarl as he said "Then you must do the same with Thor he was also able to raid the west."Lagertha who hard this glared at Rollo while Val scoffed "He is not a bear he is Rat at best."
Hearing this silence descended into the hall as everyone's attention turned to Thor who lazily questioned "What ?"
Haraldson gathered all his courage asked, "Is this true Thor you were able to get to the west like Ragnar."I raised an eyebrow at Haraldson and asked "If it is."Suddenly sound thunder echoed throughout the hall this was enough for Haraldson to step away and say "I will speak with Thor about this in private."
I scoffed "Yeah right like that will ever happen."
