[A/N:I am writing this for fun, read it to pass time now I can finally rest for a week.]
Thor POV
We decided to go to Floki's place and Gyda wanted to see her brother so we took her with us Val and Sig decided to stay back so we soon reached Floki's place as Bjorn saw Lagertha ran to her holding her tight while muttering"Father is hurt he is in pain."
Lagertha was slowly consoling the boy "Don't worry Bjorn everything will be okay."Bjorn soon led us to Floki's house as soon as Floki saw us "Thor have you come to help Ragnar."I gave a nod as Floki led us to his house where a wounded Ragnar was lying in his bed who saw both us groaned and said,"I got a little cocky, but this nothing, and don't worry, this will heal soon."The last part was aimed at concerned with Gyda.
I smiled and replied, "I know you won't go down with such a small wound."Ragnar grinned hearing that as we were chatting I told about Haraldson's attack on my village on how we were able to drive them back.
Just as we were talking Bjorn came with Torstein who told Ragnarabout Rollo telling him about Ragnar being here and how all the crew is being watched and he was able to make sure to get here without being followed.
Ragnar questioned, "What happened to our boat."Torstein replied, "The boat was seized it there have been talks about his daughter is going to married to a man in svealand and the boat is the dowry."Ragnar smiled and replied with confidence, "Floki can always build one."
I was hearing all this, so I decided to give a warning spoke, "You might want to warn Rollo since he was unable to get Lagertha, Bjorn, or even Gyda as a way to lure you out. He will go after Rollo."Hearing this, Ragnar became alert as he quickly said, "Torstein warn my brother I doubt he will be able to escape alone without anyone to help him."
Torstein nodded and went on his way to warn Rollo soon night fell as I was thinking "Ragnar injuries are not that serious so he must be up soon."As I heard Floki describing Asgard to Athelstan who was drawn to the stories.
I muttered, "Floki's description of Valhalla is not far off."The most interesting part is these people may join me there when the time comes.I was now looking at Floki looking at Ragnar's injury which was not bad as the show.
But Torstein barged into the house slightly tried as spoke"Ragnar, we have a problem."Ragnar eyes were now focused on Torstein as he questioned, "What happened"
Torstein who was worn out replied, "I was visited in great secrecy by Earl Haraldson's wife siggy she told me her husband has tricked Rollo and imprisoned him trying to find where you were. Then he tortured him siggy is sure her husband will;l kill him since he is not giving up where you are."Ragnar's eyes turned cold and ice as his face was contorting with rage.
Floki narrowed his eyes at Ragnar and said"It is a trap for you Ragnar" I nodded and said my piece, "I agree with Floki. He is using him to lure you out."
Ragnar looked thoughtful as he said, "Floki I have another four to ask of you.I was hoping you could go to Kattegat and challenge Haraldson to a personal duel on my behalf. Tell him if he refuses, shame will stalk him for the rest of his life."
Floki the very moment left to Kattegat as I questioned "Ragnar you do know you will become a jarl if you win."Ragnar sighed and replied, "I am not interested in being a jarl I just wanted to explore and raid different places like the west to make a name for myself."I just nodded hearing that as Ragnar looked at me curiously and asked "What about you why did you not become a jarl."
I groaned and replied, "Being Jarl or King of Norway or any other place (in Midgard) just does not interest me."Ragnar with interest questioned, "Why wouldn't being a king of Norway be a really be something to aim for."I shook my head and replied, "Nah it just doesn't have much value for me."
Ragnar studied me for a while he could see I was not lying about wanting to be king or even Jarl (of Midgard) as Ragnar smirked and said, "You know, are you really sure you are not my brother of something."I smirked and replied, "Whatever you say, Ragnar."
For Ragnar, he sees me as someone he can open up to rely on a brother in all but blood. The time soon came for Ragnar to face Haraldson in combat. We all made it to Kattegat, where it was held even Gyda and Bjorn were brought to witness it.
Both Haraldson and Ragnar were suited up for the fight as Svein shouted, "This is personal combat. The combatants can choose any weapon and shield they desire. If both are broken, there can be no further replacement."
I watched as the duel took place with Haraldson using shield and sword the same as Ragnar every blow Ragnar tried to land on Harladson was defended with the shield or parried by the sword and Haraldson started his counter-attack with a really effective combo of sword strikes which showed his experience since Ragnar was having a hard time defending from it. But Haraldson was getting tried out by all the attacks that he fell for Ragnar's feint, which proved costly as he was stabbed in the stomach.
Haraldson slowly fell to the ground groaning in pain while Ragnar kneeled next to his said, "Lord Odin was here waiting to see which one of us he will take to his great hall."Haraldson, who was in pain, replied, "So I shall dine after all."
I slowly walked towards, and telepathically said to Haraldson, "Yes you will just look above you."Haraldson, who recognized the voice looked at me as I just smiled at him. He then looked to the sky, noticing winged horses with women wearing silver armor with blue cape. He smiled and whispered, "The Valkyries."Which Ragnar was unable to hear.
I slowly gave a nod and once again said using telepathy, "They will take you straight to your son's after your burial."Hearing that, Haraldson had a real smile on his face as he replied in his mind "Thank you, Prince Thor."
Ragnar did not want Haraldson to die a slow, agonizing death slowly slit his wrist as Siggy who saw came running and pushing Ragnar away, yelling "No no"Siggy tried to put pressure on the wound as I simply said, "He will die even if you put pressure on his wrist because of the wound he suffered from the stab."Siggy, who looked distraught hearing that as Haraldson looked at her, said, "Don't be sad make sure to void the agreement with Jarl and our daughter's marriage give him back his money like you said, our daughter doesn't need to suffer because of me."Siggy who cried hearing this could only give a nod and Haraldson continued, "Tonight, I will be drinking with our boys."Haraldson looked at me and whispered, "It is still hard to believe you are really him." He died after that.
Ragnar and siggy, who heard this, were confused since they didn't know what he was talking about.
Svien, who saw without the Jarl he is not quickly ordered, pointing at Ragnar "Kill him."Which no one was even doing since he didn't have the authority to even do that. Rollo, who saw the opportunity to get revenge for torturing, killed Svein with axe slamming it straight into his chest.
Siggy, who slowly stood up and kneeled, yelled "Hail Earl Ragnar." Everyone followed her as one by one, all did the same only I, Lagertha, Val, Sig,..etc. were once who didn't.
Ragnar did take offense to me not kneeling in front of him but he knew even Haraldson could only ask Thor to do something but never order if Thor did not feel the need to do a raid or anything in particular he will not do it and Haraldson couldn't do a thing that is how much power Thor had.
