Chapter 60: War
" Brave Warriors! The wretched Corpse Sect has brazenly launched a surprise attack on our nearby cities! Under the lead of several City Heads and the Explosion Sect , the wandering cultivators are requested to participate in the battle . Rewards are promised according to your contribution in the War ! The War Sect will be handling the Elders of the Corpse Sect themselves and we will be responsible for holding their forces from marching into the core of the Continent. "
On the main platform in the middle of the merchant city , Tian Snape announced in a loud vigorous voice. Countless cultivators watched the scene and their blood started boiling from excitement as they were promised rewards. The resources on the huge Continent were in great amount but most of them were handled by the sects . So the wandering cultivators used chances like these to make a name for themselves and earn many precious resources on the way .
" Brother , the War Sect will be handling the most dangerous frontlines so what will happen to the monthly selections then ? "
" You must be a newbie to wars like these then . Well , the selections will usually be postponed for indefinite time until the war reaches a conclusion. The Corpse Sect has been waging war on the Continent for more than a century now because these lunatics eye the resources and the corpses of the warriors . So we face them head on each time and have successfully repeled them . The problem is that their forces are also huge in number and because they can use multiple corpses to fight, they have an advantage on most of the normal cultivators . Their main base was also never located so it's too difficult to completely exterminate them from the face of this planet ! " the middle aged man lamented but Raven was surprised at the actions of the Corpse Sect .
He felt that there must be something more to their actions because they cannt possibly wage so many wars for only corpses and normal resources . Raven thought but could only shake his head in the end because the lack of data on the Corpse Sect .
Huge rows of cultivators were joining the makeshift army inside the city's main plaza. Raven also lined up because the selections would be delayed so he had nothing more to do . He could gain experience and some resources too so it was not a bad deal for Raven who could easily fight Earth realm Cultivators and easily escape with the BLINK skill. Raven also needed to increase the mastery of this skill quickly which will be possible from many life and death fights during the war .
Soon Raven's turn and came and he successfully registered himself . He was assigned to a small squad led by Level 7 Earth realm cultivator and quickly joined them.
" My name is Brook and I'm the appointed leader of this squad of five members ! I wont waste much of our time so let's move and introduce yourselves on the way to our battle point the Deep Marsh Area . It's only a few kilometers away from the city so let's quickly fly there and slaughter some corpses! "
Brook was an old man who was robust for his age and had a heavy voice. Raven liked his easy going nature because this way they would not have much fights when divining the loot gained from battles . It was first time for Raven experiencing war but instead of being afraid , he was only excited as he had many ways to make sure that he returns alive.
They flew out of the city and right then the only female of the squad came to Raven with a small smile on her face . She had average face but Raven liked her curvy body and the mature lady vibe very much .
" Hello, my name is Samantha and what's yours young man ? " Her voice was seductive too and Raven could not help but have sexy thoughts about her . Now his body has also matured a bit so it was finally able to keep up with his mature mind .
" My name is Raven . " Raven did not plan to talk intimately with her though he only indifferently introduced himself .
The five of them finished introductions quickly and the huge marsh area was only a few meters ahead already.
Aside from Raven , Samantha and Brook , the two others were Tim and Brock . Both of them were quiet uncles and had scars on their faces . Both of them had teamed up since years now and luckily both of them joined the same squad this time too .
