Chapter 21: The Hunt Continues
Xyno, having encountered that huge mutated Tangrowth and barely escaping with the skin of his teeth Xyno decided to find a place to camp and sleep for the night. Even though he was very far away from the Tangrowth, as told by Celestine, Xyno still took some precautionary measures so as to not get ambushed by other Pokemon who hunt in packs.
He setup some pitfall traps and some other traps all around his tent and campfire so that if a Pokemon were to get caught in it, he would get notified of it and would have enough time to plan how to handle the situation. That night Xyno tried to keep watch for some time over the night. Since he had some energy drinks, he didn't need much sleep anyway.
The next day Xyno gets up early and gets ready to catch some more Pokemon since this was the last day he was going to camp. After wandering around the forest for a while Xyno could not find a decent Talent Pokemon. By the time it was noon Tiny had gone up by one level more.
When Xyno sits down to rest and lets his partners eat their food, a wild Aipom suddenly attack Tiny and takes his food.
The Aipom comes in from one of the higher trees and directly hits Tiny. Tiny gets startled so he couldn't react fast enough and gets pushed away. Aipom grabs Tiny's food and goes back onto the same tree and taunts Tiny as he gobbles up his lunch.
Xyno rushes to check up on Tiny who immediately gets up and seems pretty pissed. Xyno checks the Aipom's status

"Sett! Go take back what that Aipom stole from Tiny"
Sett flies off in the Aipom's direction but stops upon hearing Tiny's cry.
"TURTWIG!!!" Tiny yells loudly and asks Sett to back away. He wanted to fight that Aipom head to head. He did not even need Xyno's instructions.
Sett acknowledging his anger backs away as Celestine nods to not interfere either.
Tiny glares at Aipom, gesturing as to come down and fight fair and square.
Aipom gets cocky and lands down to the ground. He starts taunting Tiny and starts dancing with his tail.
Tiny who seemed to be pretty pissed before now gives off a strong greenish aura, with a hint of killing instinct. If there was something Tiny hated the most was getting interrupted while eating his favourite food.
Xyno steps back. "I want to see you defeat this little thief. Don't let me down Tiny."
Tiny who gave such immense aura looks back at Xyno and nods.
Aipom sensing Tiny's killing instinct gets serious.
There was profound silence for about a minute as both Tiny and the wild Aipom glared at each other, with a serious face.
Suddenly Aipom rushes in and goes for a Tail Slap straight at Tiny. Aipom was too fast for Tiny so it was a direct hit. The Aipom was too fast with his Tails Slaps that he hit Tiny 5 times before Tiny stops the next one.
Tiny's killing instinct just skyrocketed and he blasts an Energy Ball at point black range which hits the Aipom pretty badly. A light green ball of energy rapidly starts forming infront of Tiny's mouth and he releases it. Tiny, with Leafeon's teaching had mastered Energy Ball.
Aipom goes crashing into one of the trees behind it. The Aipom quickly gets up on it's feet almost as if the Energy Ball did nothing to it. But clearly the Aipom was hurt pretty bad.
Aipom quickly dashes in again and tries to go in for another Tail Slap. Tiny dodges the Tail Slap and Bites the Aipom from the back.
Sett and Celestine who were watching from the side lines jumped out of excitement when Tiny used Bite.
Tiny vigorously moved Aipom around, crashing it to the ground everytime.
The Aipom gets pretty roughed up from the attack and barely stands on his feet. After getting a hold Aipom makes a last-ditch effort. It goes in for another Tail Slap.
As the Aipom closes in Tiny takes the stance to dodge the attack and finish Aipom with one more Energy Ball. When Aipom gets to about 2 meters close to Tiny, he suddenly uses Sand-Attack to blind Tiny. The sand hits Tiny's eyes and Tiny gets blinded.
Aipom suddenly laughs and goes in to finish Tiny with Tail Slap. Aipom was getting very full of itself.
But just as Aipom goes to hit Tiny with Tail Slap, Tiny quickly gets out of the way, almost as if he slipped through space. Aipom gets startled as he misses Tail Slap and as Aipom is flying through Tiny fires a barrage of purple colored leaves straight at Aipom.
After vigorously training, Tiny has finally learned how to use Magical Leaf.
The purple leaves dig straight into the Aipom's back as dust blows all around Aipom.
When the dust settles down, Aipom is seen to be barely standing on it's feet.
"A-Aip…Aipom" Aipom smiles at Tiny as he falls down to the ground.
Tiny had clearly won against Aipom by an overwhelming measure.
"Good job Tiny. You did well." Xyno praises Tiny.
"Now to catch it." Xyno throws a Pokeball at the Aipom and catches it.
Xyno lets Aipom out from it's ball.
Aipom comes out laying on the ground. Aipom gets up and looks around.
"So, how do you feel after losing to Tiny?" Xyno looks at Aipom and asks him.
Aipom looks over at Tiny who had calmed down now. Aipom gets up and bows down to apologize to Tiny.
It seemed like Aipom was getting bored all by himself, so when he saw Xyno's party he decided to fool around a little.
Xyno looks over at Aipom.
(For fun he interrupted Tiny's lunch. Aipom's are as mischievous as monkeys)
Xyno calls Aipom back and gives Tiny a Sitrus Berry to eat.
Tiny upon sighting the Sitrus Berry jumps in joy and eats the Sitrus Berry very happily.
(To think the easy-going and carefree Tiny can show such killing instinct. For a second I thought he will kill the Aipom)
After resting for a while Xyno packs up and goes off to catch some more Pokemon.
While wandering around he caught 2 Burmys with C+ and C Talent. Apparently the area was a big bug nest and he managed to find and catch 3 Wurmples as well.
As Evening came close Xyno was starting to find less and less Pokemon.
"Hmm?" Suddenly Xyno spots some blood on the ground.
"Was someone fighting for their life here?"
Xyno notices the surrounding trees had big cut marks on them. Some were even cut clean. It seemed like they were cut with a guillotine.
"Need to be careful around here, seems like there are other Pokemon like Tangrowth here who have mutated." Xyno tries to keep his guard up.
As the sun sets Xyno decides to end his hunting for the time being and head back to the Academy next morning.
While waiting for his food to get warm, Xyno thinks that his research must have been published in the Yannan journal by now. He would be all around the newspaper due to his age.
"I just hope it won't make a big crowd for the interviews and whatnot"
Just as Xyno starts relaxing he hears some rumbling in a bush pretty far behind him.
