Chapter 22: A spy

"You hate me so much." He whispered against her ear.

Her heart raced, fueled by his proximity. She could only nod.

"Yet, you want me just as much." He chuckled, almost evilly. She shook her head and pushed him away, only to shove air. Her eyes snapped open and she sat up, looking around in confusion. It was sunrise. Was that just a dream?

But it felt so real. He was definitely here. She could still feel his warmth. She was uncovered and his scent still lingered in the air… or was she imagining it? Then how could she explain the heat between her legs?

She didn't want to think about it anymore. She got out of bed just as Ylvia and Sianna came in to wake her up.

"My Lady, we came to get you ready for your meeting with his Majesty." Ylvia announced.
