"What do you mean?" His companion gasped in shock.

Lev's voice lowered into a barely audible whisper. "She hears way more than she should."

She fought the urge to turn back and glance at the knight. If she did, she would let them know that she had heard their conversation. So she pursed her lips and walked on as though she didn't hear a word, but she made a mental note to be careful around them.

At the same time, she finally realized the impact of her revelation. It turned out, by revealing the plot she had accidentally overheard, she had offended more people than she had imagined.
