Chapter 13: Chapter 12

My jaw swung open and when I didn't think it could go any further, I was proved wrong. I had realised that we hadn't signed the document, the ballot was still open.

"Tommy! We-"

"You're not even part of L'Manburg!" Tommy shouts, standing up, but Quackity just laughs.

"I don't care!" Quackity booms over Tommy screeched profanities.

"Tommy!" I stand and grab the blonde child by the shoulders, spinning him to face me, "We didn't sign the book!"

"What does that mean?" He asks, grabbing my shoulders over the top of my own arms.

"The ballot's still open!" I say, voice getting louder. I start to shake him back and forth in over dramatic fear.

"You idiots!" Quackity cackles, raising his hands and looks a little like a bird. This was utterly ridiculous. I pull away from Tommy and stamp towards Quackity, pushing him up a small hill, pointing demandingly,

"Well, who's your running mate?" I raise my eyebrows, "Do you have any idea what this will take?"

He raises his hands in surrender, still grinning,

"Oh, absolutely! I have the perfect person in mind! And once I have the power, once I'm elected, you better watch out."

"Get out of my nation." I growl, pointing but making steady eye-contact. Quackity edges away from me and when he gets to the exit of the walls, he partially turns back and flashes his teeth at me,

"Also, the party that's going to win is called SWAG, 'So We Are Gods'." And he turns away and walks up the Prime Path.

"No, our name is the- the- POG Party, 'Politicians Of God'!" Tommy yells at his back, attempting to roast him. I listen to Quackity laugh loudly until I'm sure he's out of ear shot and then spin around to Tommy.

"We're fucked." I say, Tommy echoes it and then we start to say it over and over and over. We begin to power-walk to the van and eventually I start to beat box while Tommy continues repeating the phrase. Even in dire situations we revert to our roots, a pair of idiots.

In the van I sit on the floor, back against the cabinets that line the walls. Tommy mimics me on the opposite wall, still giggling about the silly song. I pull the ballot book out of my pocket and begin to write on the first page.

"What are you writing?" Tommy puffs, eyeing me. I hold up the book, still writing,

"Well, we've got competition now," I finish writing 'SWAG Party' under our own 'POG Party'. "We have to start campaigning… We need to convince more folks…" To which Tommy confidently says,

"Well, I know who to start with."

~~~~~
"Am I talking to Tubbo or Big Law?" Tommy asks cautiously to the short boy in front of us.
Apparently Tubbo recently has gained a new personality that gave him the insane hunger for justice. It was a great thing except Big Law was much louder and more obnoxious than regular Tubbo.
"Tubbo." He says, smiling serenely. I honestly can't tell if this is child's-play or they are being quite serious and Tubbo has gained an alter from the trauma of his past. Either way I'm glad because Tubbo seems much easier to convince than Big Law.
"Tell me, Pog or Swag?" Tommy asked, no context whatsoever. I forced down a smile, maintaining a very serious aura. Tubbo looks between us multiple times than lands on Tommy and says,
"Pog?" It sounds more like a question, but Tommy and I nod very seriously at each other, smirking.
"Good, good!" I say, stepping forward and leaning in. "You see, Tommy and I are running for president and we-"
"I'll definitely join you!" Tubbo exclaims before I can finish, child-like excitement in his eyes. I grin at his enthusiasm and look down at the boy. As I look at Tubbo I see a figure not far from us over his shoulder. I focus on them and realise it's Jack Manifold, sweeping the grass with a broom. He looks up and we make eye contact and in response he ducks his head down quickly and pretends to be totally inconspicuous.
I look at the two boys, who are now having a slightly crazed conversation, which is usually how their talks end up. In sync they both look at me and I nod my head in Jack's direction. The boys grin at me, instantly understanding.
I stride over to Jack, covering the distance in no time. Tubbo and Tommy jog behind me,
"Jack L'Manifold!" Tommy calls as I wave to him. He leans on the broom, off his leg, and looks somewhat terrified.
"Hello gentlemen!" His voice quavers, almost comically. Our group stops in front of him and I put my hands behind my back and straighten up and Jack stands upright, nearly at attention.
"Us or Quackity?" I ask, staring intensely. He questions me and I repeat the question patiently.
"Uh, You I suppose." He answers unsurely. I immediately relax and smile at him, like nothing out of the usual happened.
"Good man. Can we count on your vote for the upcoming election for president of L'Manburg?" I ask, tilting my head forward and looking at him through my eyelashes.
"The what?" He asks, he's had a lot of information to process in the last couple of minutes, "Actually, you know what? Never mind! Yes, you absolutely do!"
The group cheers, slightly startling Jack and we walk off, calling to him telling him he made the right call. We leave him speechless and very confused.
~~~~~

I had spoken to everyone in L'Manburg, telling them that the future of this nation laid on their shoulders. I had been spreading the word about the POG campaign now that the Dream SMP was now voting. I had swallowed my pride and gone outside our borders with Tommy and talked to Dream SMP citizens that were neutral. Even King Eret.

Since that time, I had gathered L'Manburg and we were having a meeting. Although most people knew about the situation, I thought we'd have a whole nation talk.

"When we won independence, I was the automatic president." I began, standing up in front of the group of navy jackets. "And now I figured we would add a little –" I wasn't sure how to put it,

"Organised democracy. So, I ran for president of L'Manburg, Tommy Innit by my side." Tommy waved at people around him, looking very smug.

"But then we had competition, a certain man named Quackity. I have also learned recently that he now has a running mate," I hadn't told anyone, even Tommy, who it is yet.

"George Notfound." I heard audible disappointment and defeat. The reason George was such a powerful running mate is he is very attractive and charming; people fall for him left and right and they would do anything for him.

"But if we work together, we can out-vote others and keep L'Manburg in the L'Manburg."

Niki looked at Fundy, but Fundy was staring directly at me. He looked determined, and somewhat mischievous, more than usual anyway. That's my boy.
