Chapter 62: 59

"What do you think?" Argen asked Maui as they sat in a local restaurant.

Maui had listened to his proposal and why he wanted his help, it was a crazy idea, even crazier than killing a god and stealing fire for humans to abuse.

"What do I think? I think you're insane for doing this, and I think you need help, just not from me, from a therapist."

Argen nodded at Maui's words before taking a sip of his drink. "Honestly you might be right, I do need a therapist… But that can wait, I want to end it… I wanna end it all man, I want to bring down everything and build up a new kingdom, I want the 2nd generation to be gone for good."

"You want to massacre tens of thousands of gods, perhaps more than that," Maui said summing up what Argen was saying.

Argen rolled his eyes as he felt a little agitated. "Why the hell are you making it seem like I'm the bad guy? I don't rape random women and impregnate them, I don't do whatever I want no matter how selfish, and I don't just ruin peoples lives simply for my entertainment, so how am I the bad guy?"

Maui sighed and stood up, pulling a jacket over his body and shaking his head.

"I'm not helping you, you're clearly lost in your twisted sense of Justice, do you think your plan will bring peace? It will only bring chaos and destruction, and not just for the gods, but for everyone, your narrow minded thinking and opinion of gods you've received from a very small amount are clouding your better judgment."

"I am the better judgment!" Argen yelled suddenly standing up with his eyes glowing silver.

A flash of white light from Maui's hand revealed a curved bone looking sword, almost like a fish hook.

"Do you not see how wrong you sound? As I said before, I'm staying out of it, good luck on your journey, but I am no longer that Maui from the legends…"

"You!-" Argen didn't get to finish as Maui flashed away, not caring about the civilians around them.

Argen stood there shocked as Law sat behind him and said nothing.

"It's alright Argen, Scathath is going to the-"

"Havoc… Destroy the island, kill 'em all," Argen said ignoring Law as the sky suddenly turned overcast and Havocs about poked out of a huge crack in the sky.

"Maui! You say that my better judgement is clouded? But you are clouded by your peacefulness! What is it that keeps you so docile? Is it the people of this island? Then perhaps it's better to sacrifice them."

Havoc opened its mouth and let the silver stream of energy fall upon the island.

The citizens were recording it as the beam struck the island, before it hit the land though something else met it.

"Are you insane! Do you understand what you are doing young one!" Maui yelled intercepting the beam with his fish hook as he looked at Argen.

"Do I understand what I'm doing? Of course I do, otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered, I'm making the world a better place, because that's what heroes do…"

Argen turned away from Maui as he raised his hand, in it a small baseball sized ball of red energy sat in his palm.

"Havoc, just destroy them all, a small sacrifice for the eventual amazing outcome."

'Ah… I'm so tired…'

"Ahhhhhhhh!" Maui screamed as his arms broke and bled under the pressure of the beam. In the last second he deflected it off of his fish hook, aiming it toward Argen with the intent to kill.

'This kid is crazier than I was, gotta end it,' Maui thought to himself as he took a deep breath and tightened his grip onto the hilt of the fish hook, his arms were broken, but they'd heal.

*Boom!*

The island around them rose up, the dirt breaking from its usual solid place and rising stories above the island.

"He's… Tired," Law said frozen in fear as she watched the scene. She had specifically trained in order to shut him off when he went unconscious, as he was truly scary during this time.

As she saw the situation though, she wasn't sure if she should wake him up or not.

They both knew Maui wasn't a normal demigod, the Hawaiian's had something special about them.

Perhaps it was the way they were raised, or trained, or just something in their blood, but they were different.

"What do I do Scathath? What do I choose…" Law said breathing in and out as she started to panic.

"yortsed."

Argen's soft whisper reached everyone in the islands ears. It was like a deafening yell in their head, but it still felt like a whisper.

Argen raised his hand pointed toward Maui. The lean built man widened his eyes as he moved a few inches to the side, avoiding whatever it was Argen had sent toward him.

In the next second the spot Maui was originally standing on broke, obliterated by the command from Argen.

'Don't do it Law,' Argen said in his mind as Law was about to make him 'Wake up'

'Huh? You're awake!?' She asked with widened eyes as she looked at Argen's form standing there.

"Yes," Was all Argen replied as he burst through the air, slamming into Maui's fishing hook at a speed neither had expected.

"I thought you were unconscious, but I see now you are awake, so why close your eyes?" Maui asked using his hook to smack Argen away from him as the boy just flipped in the air and landed back on the ground normally.

All around them cracks were starting to fork in the ground, Law was starting to worry for her own safety.

'Get out of here Law… At this rate… I might really kill this bastard,' Argen's voice said in her head, allowing her to make her decision and turn the other way starting to run.

Maui looked as she fled and began to aim to throw his fish hook at her before Argen grabbed his wrist.

"Don't even think about it, she has nothing to do with this," Argen said opening his eyes for the first time since going 'unconcious.'

"This entire island had nothing to do with this… But you're right, I won't attack her… or you, they came before I even got the chance to get serious, good luck with your plan, don't try and find me again."

With this Maui dissapeared in the flash of light just as The surroundings suddenly stopped being stormy and broken and instead returned to how it was prior to Argen's attack.

"Haha… It's been a while since someone was stupid enough to attack our islands, and who knew… We found a dirty little whore helping them as well…"

Argen widened his eyes as the voice was right behind him, cold and raspy.

"Hello little boy!" Argen could only describe the thing in front of him as one thing… A demon.
