Chapter 4: FIRST MISSION
after the magic knight entrance exam yami went to meet julius. as soon as julius saw yami he came to him and said
julius : "hey! you're yami right! that was dark magic you used right! your fight was amazing! magic is really interesting isn't it!."
julius asked a bunch of question's without room for me to talk. i was really surprised that the future wizard king is such an eccentric person.
yami : "yes sir i use dark magic and i also fight with a sword, you can consider me somthing like a magic swordsman "
julius :"a magic swordsman eeh! fascinating indeed. i am julius novachrono captain of the grey deer. follow me i'll take you to our headquarter's"
a mage behind julius opened a portal and i followed them inside.walking through the portal i saw a classy building on the other side. it was like a huge noble's mansion. a magic knight came towards us and i recognize him, he is jack the ripper, captain of the green praying mantis in the future.
julius : "this is your robe and he will guide you toward's your room"
julius threw me my grey deer magic knight squad and gestured me to follow jack.
jack :"follow me newbie and if you piss me of i will rip you to shred's"
jack told me about our base and showed me my room, but just talking to him i know that he is a psychopath who will cut anything or anyone who annoy's him. i hope julius didn't recruit more crazy's like him.
settling in my room i wrote a letter to the village and mailed it through an owl. i have joined the magic knight's and already met important character's in the anime. i am sure i will meet other character's soon so i need to get stronger soon. after meditating for some time and eating dinner yami fell asleep.
<NEXT MORNING>
after eating my breakfast i was called by julius
julius :" yami i know today is the first day of your job but i've got a mission for you. you can decline it if you want."
yami :"i am willing to do it"
julius :"good , jack will come with you as this is your first mission"
yami :"captain, i think i can handle it alone"
julius :"no!no!no!, working together will improve your team work and strengthen your bond"
'shit! i don't know if he is doing this intentionally or not , but bringing that psychopath along is just asking to be killed. i will just have to endure it somehow"
after getting the mission i met up with jack and headed for our destination together.but just looking at him i can tell he is ready to cut someone up. the content of the mission was the extermination of mana beast's. the village of 'taion' was attacked by a horde of magic beast a week ago in the forgotten area. the strange thing is that they retreated when the magic knight's arrived. our mission is find out what caused the man beast's to act so strangely and solve the problem.
jack :"there it is taion village. i wonder if there is someone there that is worth cutting "
yami :"yeah!yeah!, let's go to the village head, house to get information"
the both of us arrived at the village and asked a passerby for the village head's house. after following the direction's he gave we reached the village head's house. i knocked on the door and an old man opened the door
village head :"who are you?"
yami :"we are magic knight's we've come to get information on the beast attack on this villag"
village head :"come in first"
jack :" hurry up and tell us what happened old man"
village head :"yes, a week ago without any warning mana beast's attacked this village although there were no death's ,a lot of people got injured. when the magic knight's arrived the beast's retreated into the west forest. that is all i know"
yami :"do you know why they attacked this village?"
village head :"no,i am afraid not"
yami :"you are lying old man."
i am able to sense ki very well so i know when a person is lying or not and the old man is lying. just when i said he was lying, a scythe came out of jack's right hand and in a second he appeared in front of the village head and placed it on his neck. he had a creepy smile on his face.
jack :"you've sure got gut's lying to us. better tell the truth or i'll kill you"
after hearing what jack said the village head was scared out of his mind so he spilled all the bean's. it appear's the village found an ancient magic item in the forest and instead of reporting it to the magic knight's they planned to sell it on the black market . but it accidentally activated summoning wild beast's toward's it self. during the attack the beast's took it . the village head was afraid he would get imprisoned if the truth got out so hid the fact's. too bad i am here and i can sense ki.
yami :"we need to recover the ancient magic item"
jack :"i'll rip em to shreds"
we went into the forest to recover the item. we followed the trails of the beasts after 10 minutes the both us stopped in a clearing
yami :"we've been surrounded"
jack :"look's like an ambush"
wild beasts came from all around us. they suddenly attacked
yami:"[DARK MAGIC : DARK CLOAKED LIGHTLESS SLASH BARRAGE]
jack :"[SEVERING MAGIC : SEVERING BLADE RAMPAGE]
both of us fired multiple magic slash's and leveled the forest. the remaining beasts were cut down by both of us at an incredible pace. in seconds we killed all the magic beasts.
"*ROAR*"
from the forest came a giant humanoid beast and it gave of tremendous magic power. on top of it was a man with a scar on his face. the beast lifts its arm and punches towards us. the both of us evades it. the beast gives out another roar.
"*ROAR*"
man with a scar :"not bad, you two were able to avoid that, but you two will die here"
the man takes up a staff and suddenly his magic power increases and he casts a spell
man with a scar: "[PLANT MAGIC : MAGIC POLLEN]"
a plant grows to surround the mana and pollen fall's on the beast . the beast buffs up and its magic increase's. the beast suddenly attack's and caught off guard by his increase in speed both us are smashed by it.
man with a scar :"this is the power of the ancient magic item and it's mine now"
i get up ,bruised up by the attack i look at jack as he too got damaged by that attack.i say too him
yami :"you still in this fight"
jack:"i feel like a mosquito bit me. i'll have fun tearing up this guy"
man with a scar :"!!hmph!!, you've got a big mouth"
[PLANT MAGIC : SLEEP POWDER]
he unleash's a green powder that enclose's both of us . i feel sleepy and strength draining, i quickly activate mana skin and surround my self with dark magic . i launch a full power attack
yami :"[DARK MAGIC : DARK CLOAKED LIGHTLESS SLASH]
the beast blocks my attack with it's hands. it got a cut on it's arm from my attack
man with a scar :"[PLANT MAGIC : HEALING VINES]"
the man heals the beast and surrounds the beast with plants.the beast attacks me furiously i fight it in close combat .every time i injure it it heals itself. i am in disadvantage as i take damage from it's attack
man with a scar :"[PLANT MAGIC : MAGIC CANON]"
!*BOOM*!
yami :"[DARK MAGIC : BLACK COCOON]
i was able to block his magic beam but my mana is running out. i need to end this quick. the beast attacks again ,i quickly evade and counter attack
man with a scar :"[PLANT MAGIC : MAGIC CANON]"
the man attacks again but this time he attacks jack. it hits and there is a cloud of smoke coming from where jack stood.
yami attacks but this time he focuses on the beasts left arm. all his attacks are aimed at a single point
yami:"[DARK MAGIC : DARK CLOAKED LIGHTLESS SLASH BARRAGE]
"!AHHH!"
the beast screams. before the man heals the beast i concentrate all my remaining magic power on my sword and attack
yami:"[DARK MAGIC : DARK CLOAKED BLACK BLADE]
i cut off its left arm. it screams and attacks me with its other arm but before it hits me i scream
yami :"!hey psychopath i thought you were gonna cut this bastard to shreds"
when i finish speaking i hear somthing
jack :"[SEVERING MAGIC : SEVERING BLADE]
jack attacks from the smoke and deflects the beasts attack. the beasts backs off. jack jumps towards the beast using reinforment magic. i see that jack is beaten and bloodied.
jack :'this newbie fought this beast and even cut off its arm while i was sleeping.i am gonna cut it. the beats, the scar man, the newbie iam gonna cut all of it.!cut!cut!cut!cut!cut!cut!cut!cut!cut!cut.'
jack's grimoire glows and a spell appears on a new page
jack :"!hahahaha!cut!cut!cut!cut!cut"
"[SEVERING MAGIC : DEATH SCYTHE]"
jacks magic cuts the beast in two. the scar man shouts and attacks jack but he is already unconscious.
man with a scar :"[PLANT MAGIC : MAGIC CANON]"
i come infront of jack and scream
yami :"ahahah! time to push past my limit"
i feel strength in my body as my grimoire glows and a spell appears on a new page
yami:"[DARK MAGIC : black hole]
my spell absorbs his movment and incapacitate him
scar man :" i can't move"
yami:"[DARK MAGIC : DARK CLOAKED BLACK BLADE]
i cut him using my magic and blood flows. the scar man is knocked out
yami :"yahhh!"
after my first fight as a magic knight . i release a victory cry.
