For the following month after returning the old scroll to Hokage , Ren spent very fulfilling days . He spent the day time time training heard when the sun was up and after sleeping for two hours , went to have sex with Nami at night .
His taijutsu training went perfect because his body became stronger and chakra became denser at extremely fast rate . Ren had to return his body to genin level a total of 16 times in this month because his chakra reserves would grow by the next day and at least mid genin level . Anyway the point at which Ren gained most mastery on was wood style jutsu instead of taijutsu techniques which improved by a lot but Ren would not call himself a master as his technique still fell short to Gai sensei by a long shot .
Ren's wood clones masterd each and every wood style jutsu to max level so he just dispelled all of them on the 27th day .
At the last day , Ren had a full power spar with Gai sensei but both of them had used suppresion seal to limit their physique to genin level . Ren's technique fell short after few minutes of exchanging blows but Ren still managed to draw with his sensei thanks to his absurb stamina , vitality and body strength due to max Uzumaki and Senju bloodlines. Gai instead congratulated Ren with tears in his eyes because he could finally say that Ren could be called a taijutsu specialist.
Ren wanted to relax for one day before thinking about future stuff but the old man sitting inside Hokage office just wont let his grandson rest . Shisui came to call Ren so he had no choice to see what kind of mission old man had prepared for Ren this time .
" Ren , you will be the team captain and lead Shisui and Itachi for a short infiltration mission . The mission is extremely difficult and the difficulty can increase any time due to to unforeseen circumstances.
Your mission is to infiltrate a base of rogue ninja which is actually a hidden base for elite Rock ninja . The problem is that the base is located near our country's border so we have no choice but to be vigilant . If possible then you may exterminate the whole base and just be wary of Tsuchikage Onoki who could potentially arrive at the hidden base anytime. "
Ren listened to old man's serious talk but unlike Itachi and Shisui, he was not a bit afraid of Onoki . So he just casually accepted the mission and already decided to destroy the base after confirming their plans . Ren ordered his two friends with a smug on his face and both his friends were displeased by the teasing of their powerful friend . Soon three of them exited the village through hidden entrance which was one of those which could only be accessed by anbu .
Ren gestured them to stop just few kilometers away from Konoha abruptly and Itachi and Shisui complied with the order even though they were confused. Suddenly Ren whistled and seven black shadows came out of the bushes and knelt respectively infront of Ren. Itachi and Shisui recognized them as elite Root ninja and connected the dots easily because they were the only ones who knew that Ren controlled Danzo from shadows.
Ren took the scroll from the captain of Root team and ordered them to leave which they unconditionally complied to . Ren read the comments and burnt the scroll after showing it to his two friends . Ren had found out using Danzo's sources that Onoki was planning to build some secret underground routes to let his elite subordinates infiltrate the fire country
. The plan may be genius but it was foiled as the base was discovered by patrolling konoha ninja who accidentally stumbled upon the base which chasing a rogue nin from Kiri.
" So what do you say then ? Shall we destroy the base ? I went to because they are already retreating after being discovered but those bastards had killed many Konoha patrolling ninja so I cannot leave them alive. " Ren casually spoke his opinion but there was trace of anger inside his voice . His emotions sometimes were to fierce and Ren suspected it to be related to the curse of Uchiha . Fortunately his willpower was extremely strong to practically ignore these small emotional fluctuations.
Itachi and Shisui discussed for a while and made their decision .
" I agree with you too Ren but we will have to make sure that our identities are not exposed because otherwise it may spark war between the two hidden villages . " Shisui explained with a serious expression while Itachi also nodded in agreement.
" How's your chakra control then ? "
" reaching 80 % " Shisui
" slightly above 70 % " Itachi
" Sigh.. then you two just hide in a safe place and leave the job to me because I have perfect chakra control and can easily disguise it infront of enemies ... "
Itachi and Shisui now did not know what to say about their friend who was so talented that both of them just wanted to bow down and request him to share some of it with them Itachi in particular felt mixed emotions because once he had proclaimed himself as Ren's rival in secret but now he was losing hope to catch up to him . Ren was naturally oblivious of these feelings and was currently feeling bad because he hated to do all the dirty work by himself ...
