Chapter 4: Chapter 3: A Creature From Horrors
The trucks slowy approach the heats sources and around 200 meters before the heats sources both of us can see some pretty big humans like silhoutte figures. They are standing on two legs but we can tell from their posture that they are definitely not humans.
Those moving silhouette suddenly stopped, it's seems that they are noticing the light from the truck. I decides activate the high-beams light from the trucks so i can see clearly what or who are they.
The bright light from the truck instanly illuminate what in front of us. From those beams both of us can see those creatures that stares back to the high-beams that flashes from the trucks.
"Eeeek...!!!" Ivanna screamed, hug my left arms and hide her faces.
"What the hell are those creatures....!!!" i mumbled to myself while holding the steering wheel tightly.
Those creatures in front of us stood with two legs and have two arms just like humans. But they are definitly are not humans. Their faces are ape-like with no hair at all from heads to toes. They have fangs and sharp teeths when they opened their mouth at our trucks.
There is a lot of drools that coming out when they opened their wide jaws and doing a threatening pose. Their skins textures look like those shaved dead pigs that you find at bucher shops but with greyish colored skins and bulky bodies.
The monster that are created by Professor Frankensteins are nothing compared to them.
I estimates their height to be around 180 to 200 centimeters tall. Most of them are naked and i can see that their body traits are humanlikes. The females had bigger breast than the males and i can see the male genitals clearly.
when the truck are standing still and their threats are ignored, some of them are started to walk closer to the trucks.
Ivanna is still holding my arms and wont let it go.
Those horrid creatures are holding a weapons like a spears and clubs on their arms.
' so they are intellegent enough to use a weapons like humans.' i though to myself.
There is a lot of questions on my heads right now but now is not the time for that.
I hit the accelerator pedals with my right foots and ram over them like i did to the usual bandits. The truck started moving from his stall positions. On a dry dirt roads with full cargo like this, this truck can accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds.
This truck can easily break away from any vehicles blockades easily, let alone a group monsters that just little bit bigger than humans.
The truck accelerates and soon the impact can be heards. Just like i thought, our 'Black Knight' can easily run over a bunch of them that charged at us.
I can feel the impact and their pile up bodies being squeezed by the truck tires.
As i ran over the ones that are standing in the middle of the roads, i looked up at my right windows because there are so many red dots on our right. When i looked to the right windows, i can see a lot of their silhouette walking towards a structure and are pretty far from the trucks.
The dark of the night makes the structures hardly noticable with a naked eyes from this distances. The only thing that make me notices those structure are their dim light from the torches.
I am pretty surprised when i discover a structure on my right. It's a walls that looks like it's made from some woods that are maybe just as tall as this truck.
Even though those structure are just around 400 meter from our truck, it's hardly noticable because the night are as dark as the 'free lands' night.
There are some moving dim light from a torches that carried by some human like figures that standing on top of those walls trying to defended it.
'Damn it, how can i miss and not noticing a settlement as big as that on my radars.' I though while feeling a bit frustated to myself.
Apparantly we're already outside the forest while we were 300 meters away from the heat sources that we detected. None of us aware about it when we're leaving the forest.
Focusing to one thing while not aware of your surrounding is a big no for 'Alley Ways' cross-continent driver. As a 5 years senior employee i feel ashamed to my incompetences.
Well, right now it's not the time to be frustated. Now that i find something that looks like human settlement at least.
Maybe we can figure out where we are, if they are friendly though. Language can be a problems too, but i think i can work it out as long as they are humans.
I stopped the 'Black Knight' when there is already no monster to run over in front of us.
When i want to push the reverse button with my left arms i notice something heavy clinging on my left arms. There is Ivanna, still holding my arms and hide her faces.
" Hey...Ivanna..... let my arms go. i know it's cozy but i need to do something about our situation." I said to her while flick her head softly with my right arms.
" Watch the maps for me, there is a human settlement on our right. I hope we can get some informations about where we are."
"Hey....Ivanna....." i try to talk her out while i push her head away with my arms.
There are some seconds of silences before she finally answered.
"Alright....i am sorry.....i'll watch the monitor for you." finally she answered. You can see clearly how scared she is.
She still closing her eyes when she removing her face from my arms and only opening it while her face already facing the monitors. It's kinda cute seeing her being meeks and different than usual like that.
Being scared is not her fault though, those creatures looks like it come straight from horror movies. I definitly will piss my pants if i am not inside this truck. I can't think how scary it is for the people inside those settlement.
But it's not the time to think about that, because there is still plenty of them on our radars. maybe there is still more than fifty of them that are heading toward the settlement on our radars.
" Alright Ivanna, Please check if it safe enough for us to turn our truck and headed toward the settlement. " i ask her to analyze with 3D object sensors.
That programs also can analyze the hardness of the grounds around us.
A truck that weight 40 tonnes can't just go anywhere recklessly. Even with high-grades all terrain tires and all wheel drive, this truck can easily stuck if we go a places with deep quicksand like swamps.
" i think we can, the terrain are hard enough around this area." She said swapping the monitor with her fingers. She still refuses to look through outside the windows.
" there is 4 meters wide roads that leads to the front of the settlement i believes. But on both sides there is slope around 30cm deeper than the roads." She added.
" Alright, those slopes are probably their farming fields, better not make their damage worse by avoiding it." I replied as i reverse the 'Black Knight' and run over the monster corpses behind it.
The Black Knight drove backwards, hitting whoever or whatever standing in it's rears.
I drove it in reverse until i am sure that it has enough turning radius to turn toward the settlement road.
There are still more than 50 monster in radar that already made their way to the settlement. They are unaware that their friends in the back get annihilated since they are pretty far ahead.
I turn the Black Knight to the road toward the wooden walls.
The sound of huge tires that rolling on the dirt road and the light from the truck alarm both those monsters and the people on the walls. Those monsters turn their back from the settlement, curious about the noises behind them.
all of them dont know what kinds of oppenent they are facing.
