Chapter 30: Chapter 28- Mass suicide in the east (pt.2)
Aoki Enyo was sitting in his pavilion, waiting for new information to come out. The only thing he got from the restaurant was that the people who did it were related to the Qin family. As far as he knew, the Qin clan fell and their bloodline ended. Although Qin Zuijia escaped, he might not be the one who did it. He tried to piece together the information he got so far.
No one knew where Wei Xiao took Qin Zuijia. There had been no information what-so-ever about the two. They have been living peacefully, to the point that many would think it weird. Enyo wasn't the type to go searching for trouble, he doesn't want to find Qin Zuijia, nor does he want to be the hero. Qin Zuijia was in hiding for 80 years, no one was able to catch him, now, it would be even more impossible.
Aside from that, the perpetrator came from the White Tigers clan who are the demon beast that have blood pact with the Qin Clan. It was possible that this case was done for revenge. The White tigers clan lives in the middle plane where no one in the Wolf Bane continent was able to get to because their level of cultivation can never pass the nascent soul stage. One needs to ascend to immortality before entering the middle plane, but it has been 80 years since the last person ascended. But the White tigers clan, although from the middle plane, can come down to the lower plane. It is also possible that they have already left to hide in the middle plane.
Enyo sighed helplessly and thought of the little angel that came into his life. He really wants to pinch Xiao Ling's cheeks right now.

Wei Xiao was staring daggers at Fu Yu who was combing Qin Zuijia's hair.
Fu Yu doesn't seem to notice the amount of death stares he has been receiving from Wei Xiao, even if he knew about it, he wouldn't care. His whole attention was set on Qin Zuijia's hair.
"Have you heard about the mass suicide?" Wei Xiao pushed down his anger and asked. Xiao Ling sensed his uncle's bad mood and held his hand.
Fu Yu stopped his hands from combing Qin Zuijia's hair. He turned to Wei Xiao with a frown. "Are you suspecting that the cat guy did it?"
Wei Xiao nodded, but his brows remained furrowed. "Who else would I suspect?"
Fu Yu raised a brow. "Are you sure it was the man who made ah-Jia fall unconscious?"
Qin Zuijia's back stiffened from Fu Yu's words, it seems that Fu Yu knows about his little funny secret.
"What do you mean?" Wei Xiao saw how Qin Zuijia stiffened after being half-exposed. He suddenly thought that he might be wrong about Qin Zuijia.
Fu Yu looked at Qin Zuijia and laughed. "I think I should explain from the beginning." Fu Yu put down the comb and tied Qin Zuijia's hair in a high ponytail. "I was the one who owned Xiao Bai, the little ugly rabbit who enjoyed being with Qin Zuijia. I used him to keep an I on Qin Zuijia, because I have always been a fan of him." Fu Yu sat beside Wei Xiao and grinned. "I have heard hundreds of negative things about Qin Zuijia, but there was something I really like about him."
Wei Xiao frowned further upon hearing that Fu Yu was interested in Qin Zuijia. "I heard that he was able to replicate the 'Thousand Sword technique' of the great hero of Wolf bane continent, Qin Muyang."
Wei Xiao looked at Fu Yu. The Thousand Sword technique became a forbidden technique after Qin Zuijia slaughtered his clan and those who tried to stop him. Wei Xiao knew that this was a technique passed down from generation after generation, but no one was able to perfect it, thus many gave up on the technique, then Qin Muyang was born. But this was not what Wei Xiao cared about, what he wanted to hear from Fu Yu was what Qin Zuijia was afraid of.
"Get to the point." Wei Xiao demanded.
Fu Yu shrugged and turned to the red Qin Zuijia. "Upon watching the great demon Qin Zuijia, I happen to see the funniest scene that will never leave my mind." Fu Yu laughed and poke Qin Zuijia's cheeks. "Qin Zuijia, this great villain of the Wolf Bane continent, is afraid of little kittens~"
Qin Zuijia covered his face while Wei Xiao stared in confusion. Qin Zuijia's action made it clear that it was true. A person who was able to destroy hell and heaven was afraid of a little cat?!?
Xiao Ling heard Fu Yu laughing at Qin Zuijia and slapped his hands. "Bad Brother Fu. Pretty uncle is very sad now!!" The child pouted and walked to hug Qin Zuijia. Qin Zuijia lifted the child to his lap and hugged him tighter.
Wei Xiao's eyes widened, but later he frowned. "You were stalking him?"
Fu Yu hummed. "You could say that. But I like the term walking extremely close behind."
Wei Xiao's eyes twitched.
"By the way." Fu Yu added. "That ghost over there has been looking lifeless. Well, not that he's alive to begin with." He pointed at Zhao Fu who was hugging his legs.
Wei Xiao ignored him.
"Shouldn't he be on his way to reincarnation?"
"He's missing his arms." Qin Zuijia answered.
Fu Yu nodded. "What were we talking about before?"
"The mass suicide." Wei Xiao reminded.
"We don't have much information about it, but I'm guessing that the sect leader and elders have been notified." Fu Yu crossed his legs. "Peak Master Aoki should be the one who's investigating right now."
"Pretty Brother?" Xiao Ling looked at Fu Yu.
Fu Yu nodded.
After their discussion, Wei Xiao still can't forget about the new information he got from Fu Yu.

On Enyo's side, the sect leader was already notified and was just about to leave the capital city. Once Sect leader Scarlet returned, the eastern sect alliance would commence a meeting.
Enyo sat in his pavilion completely exhausted with the case. There was new information, but most of it was more frightening than the last. He found out that the mass suicide started from the Heavenly City to Willow City and other places from the south, making it's way through east. It was as if they were slaughtering their way to the north. This made Enyo gulp a mouthful of saliva before wanting to pass out.
There have been approximately 1800 people who died from the hand of the perpetrator. They were still unaware of how many people they were dealing with, but with how many people they've killed, it was possible they won't be able to fight back. They don't know how many people would die if this continues.
Enyo suddenly doesn't want to be involved in the case, but he couldn't just sit still while all the people in the east die. This wasn't his way of doing things, he, as a cultivator, was expected to help everyone. This made Enyo filled with mixed feelings. On one hand he wants to help, but on the other he doesn't want to die.
Enyo sighed helplessly and hung his head low.
At that time, the door of his pavilion was opened and a woman dressed in a red fur coat came in.
"Aoki, my dear, have you found out who the perpetrator is?" She smiled, showing her tiger teeth. Her lips were painted with rouge, and her eyes were pure black.
Enyo subconsciously stiffened. The Sect leader was taller than him and more experienced. Her eyes were sharper and her aura could pin down the best of the best. She stood with her hands to her waist and his chin raised up. Enyo was both frightened and in awe with this person, he was powerful, but not as powerful as she.
Scarlet is one of the most powerful people in the Wolf bane continent, but she chose to be the business minded type and would rather work to earn than work to get famous. Her husband wasn't against her doing things this way. Scarlet loved her husband and Victor was in love with her as well.
Enyo raised his head to meet with Scarlet's devilish gaze. He stood up and cupped his hands. "Sect leader!"
Scarlet laughed. "No need for formalities. So? How was the investigation going?"
Enyo didn't know where to start. First off, he couldn't say that he wanted her to take over because he's scared of the power held by the perpetrator, they might end up controlling him to kill others. Second, he was depressed for days since he wasn't able to see the adorable little angel that was sent from the heavens and pinch his cheeks red, he doesn't want the sect leader to know that he has been procrastinating because of a baby. With how the investigation going so far, his reliability might end up being attacked.
Enyo took a deep breath and relayed all he found out so far.
The sect leader wasn't surprised that they weren't able to find who exactly those people are. With the enemy having the capability to change planes, the search would be larger.
"The case begun from the south to the east. We still don't know why they would do so." Enyo said calmly. His brows were knitted, and his hands clenched.
Scarlet hummed. "Could Qin Zuijia be involved? Or he might be the one who did it?"
Enyo shook his head. "That, we don't know." He paused and added. "If it was Qin Zuijia, why would he do it?"
"Does he need a reason to?" Scarlet raised an eyebrow. "He killed thousands of cultivators along with his family, him killing those people is child's play for him."
"Isn't that where we start to question thing?"
"What do you mean?"
"Qin Zuijia killed cultivators."
Scarlet smiled. "Who knows what he's up to. He's the reason why no one was able to ascend."
Enyo frowned. He didn't know why as well, but something about Qin Zuijia feels wrong. He mulled over it, but because he had a lot on his plate, he wasn't able to get an answer.
Scarlet left, and one of his disciples came in. "Master, how should we deal with the papers?" He pointed at the mountain of papers on Enyo's side.
"Leave it." Enyo replied and shooed away the man. He returned to his paperwork and came across a book.
"Everything you need to know about mages "-The book title.
Enyo thought of his future disciple, Xiao Ling, and began to read the book. Although he knew most things about being a mage, he still enjoyed reading this type of work.
First part of the book was about the soul mark and it's uses. Basically, the soul mark makes a mage who they are. It stores power and cultivates along with the person. Their ate levels to the soul marks; those born with red and orange marks are usually lower in level, and can only make low-level pills, yellow and green are mid- level soul types and can make mid-level pills, blue and purple soul marks are high level souls and can be considered as rare, but there are still more than a thousand of them. The rarest soul mark type was the pure White. Enyo has a purple soul mark which means that he can make high-level pills. Qin Zuijia, this genius, has the only white soul mark in the whole Wolf Bane continent, on top of that, he was already an Earth Immortal at the age of 22. His blackening was enough to scare the wits out of everyone.
But what Enyo doesn't know was that Qin Zuijia no longer has the mark.
The next pages of the book were the several breathing exercises and Qi circulation techniques. The last page was about the advantage of mages that martial artists and healers don't have. Mages can kill their own inner demons.
After reading, Enyo was now prepared to lay down, but to his surprise, a little dumpling was looking at him with wide eyes.
Enyo's brows raised, he looked at Xiao Ling who was kneeling in front of him. He turned his gaze upward and found the apologetic expression on Bai Bingyu.
"Xiao Ling said that he wanted to help beat the cat." Bai Bingyu scratched his head. "He said that it was the reason why those people died."
Enyo didn't know what he meant, but the thought of Xiao Ling blaming the death of many people because of a cat was really funny. His face almost cracked into laughter. "Why does Xiao Ling say so?" Enyo looked at Xiao Ling who was pouting on the side.
"Cat made pretty uncle sleep very bad!" Xiao Ling tried to piece together the words he knows from the east.
"The cat made your uncle...sleep... badly?" Enyo turned to Bai Bungyu.
"I have a phobia with cats. It's weird, I know." Bai Bingyu laughed dryly.
Enyo nodded. So the man before had no involvement with Qin Zuijia what-so-ever, but the cat made him faint. It wasn't funny for Enyo, he knew that it wasn't right to laugh at other's fear, no matter how weird it is.
"It isn't weird, no need to be embarrassed." Enyo rubbed Xiao Lings head. "But Xiao Ling can't help, this is a very big problem, Xiao Ling might get scared."
Xiao Ling shook his head repeatedly. "Xiao Ling won't be scared. Xiao Ling will be brave!"
Bai Bingyu laughed. "I'm sorry for bothering you, but Xiao Ling won't stop nagging us if we didn't go see you to help."
Enyo doesn't mind it. Although he doesn't like Bai Bingyu's personality much, with how he's sweet and thoughtful, how he always wants the best for everyone, how he's innocent. It was an annoying personality for Enyo, but because this person was someone who was raising Xiao Ling, he wouldn't push him away.
Enyo felt like Bai Bingyu was the type to ignore the bad things done by other people in order to wash clean his loved ones. It was a personality that he never wanted to be friends with.
"Oh!" Bai Bingyu exclaimed. "Is it true that the mass suicide was done by the White Tigers clan?"
Enyo looked at him. He didn't want to speak more to Bai Bingyu, but the person came all the way here to talk about it. "Yes."
Bai Bingyu furrowed his brows. He bit his nail while mumbling incoherent words. He sighed and said. "That seems like a really hard problem."
Enyo nodded.
"Their possible hiding place could be related to water." Bai Bingyu smiled.
"Water?" Enyo raised a brow. "Aren't they felines, cats are afraid of water."
Bai Bingyu laughed. "Tigers love water." He called Xiao Ling towards him, who ran and hugged him. "But it would still be impossible to find them right now. With how they are able to transport from one plane to another, then we won't be able to find them."
Enyo knew of this, but if there is a possibility that they could be here, he wouldn't stop searching for them...as long as he doesn't die first.
