Chapter 1: First Day
Morning Sky fresh and beautiful. The grass is green as a perfect day. The little town of old creak was having a pleasant day. Alya loved the Monday mornings these are her favorite; she gets to go to volunteer work in the hospital. Alya a girl who considered herself carefree and lucky to be alive. Being a lover of romance stories, she never thought she would be part of a romantic journey herself.
Beep Beep Beep!!!
8:00 am
‘Morning sunshine’ Alya thought to herself. She woke up yawning and dragged herself to the bathroom. The morning shower is too cold for her. She kept on jumping the whole time in the shower. ‘Too Cold Too Cold’ she thought shivering herself. Bath time ended quicker than any other day. Wrapping a white towel around her body she tip toed out of the bathroom and towards the closet, taking care not to slip on the wet floor which was caused by the water dripping down her hair. She took out her favorite blue jeans and brown lilac shirt. She took out the khaki color jacket and ran downstairs." Good Morning everyone!!! " she screamed. She found her mother making pancakes for the family. She sat and gobbled up the pancake as fast as she can. "Eat slowly there is still time, honestly you will choke " said Mrs. Jane Greenfield with an irritated expression but smiled at the same time. She shook her head while turning back to the stove to flip the pancakes. Unlike her other children her youngest daughter is a handful. "Mom I need to hurry they are waiting for me" said Alya while she drank the milk down as fast as she can. "I still do not understand why you have to do this; you should be preparing for your entrance exam for college" said Mr. Dean Greenfield. Alya frowned but decided not to argue with her father for she wished not to make things worse. “I still have 3 months baba. ” replied Alya. Mr. Greenfield is a man with a strict personality. He shook his head with a disappointed expression towards his daughter. He folded the newspaper in his hand and walked out the door for work.
The sky was perfect and sunny she wished if only it rained but the sun only smiled at her. She walked on with her small bag on her shoulder showing her tongue to the sun. "Evil sun I want the clouds begone " she muttered. The walk to the hospital did not last long. Hope hospital was her favorite place she volunteered every summer to help with the patients especially with the kids who come for treatment. The kids ward is her favorite. Today she will give them gummy bears. She thought excited.
"Helloooooo Kids look what I got " Alya entered grinning towards the kids. As soon as she said it she was surrounded by kids running towards her. A group of kids with pink and blue pajamas ran down from bed towards her. a few sat on the bed and cheered.
" QUIET !!!" came a scream from the behind everyone stopped and looked forward fearfully. A chill was felt all around which gave a frightening shiver. Alya looked behind her slowly, at the person with big eyes and gulped down . She knew she is going to have to hear a lecture now. Nurse Joan is the head nurse of the floor. People call her warden behind her back. She is a strong lady with big eyes and a loud voice, with her hands on her hips she glared at Alya. Her glasses slightly slanted a bit on her nose , accompanied by beaded rim. She looked like she will punish someone.
"Honestly Alya when will you stop spoiling these kids I just calmed them down. I will not stand you disrupting this ward" sternly said Nurse Joan.
Alya pouted her lips " Pueeez Nurse Joan it’s just candy"
"No, you have disrupted my ward enough I won’t stand this, you won’t have candies here" said Nurse Joan with hands on her hips.
Alya put down her shoulder with a sigh "Sorry kids Nurse Joan is right we cannot have candies here " the kids got sad face some even looked with pouty lipped. Joan relaxed her shoulder thinking finally she made the girl listen to her. But she could not let her guard down for she saw a naughty snicker forming in Alya's eyes. Her fears came true for as soon as she released her breathe, before she could say anything or stop the disaster from occurring Alya screamed " but she did not say anything about eating in the garden !!! LET’S GO !! " the children screamed and ran outside behind Alya.
" No ... no I did not. s say that stop...." Nurse Joan gave up and signed the other nurses to follow her. It felt like a big wind just passed the corridor.
" Well somebody announced her entry today" Doctor Brown came behind nurse Joan clutching his clipboard. He had a kind face and chuckled at the commotion. " She gives me the headache; I can never win against her. Doctor this is all your fault" complained Nurse Joan. Doctor Brown laughed "Okay, Okay I will talk to her." Nurse Joan sighed " Try not to be too hard on her" .
"Do I hear concern Joan" Doctor brown raised his eyes from his glasses and looked at her. Nurse Joan said nothing except smiled and went away. Doctor brown chuckled at them. Alya brings smile to the hospital. She came as a big burst of fireworks. Doctor Brown looked down to the list of new patients and he tapped on the name. She has a new work coming in front of her. Hope hospital is not like any other big hospitals. It is more relaxed and treated as a relaxing center. The big white building has only 3 floors and a garden in the children corner. The garden is full of flowers for the patients to relax and walk.

Dark
Dark Black nothing, there was nothing to see only sounds to hear. Only imaginations to mix with the sounds. He finds it hard to adjust colors in his brain. ‘Pity’ he does not like pity he hates the way people look at him. Laying down on something soft he thinks the bed is white and white blanket. Damn what a pitiful creature he became cannot even see the closest thing. He feels frustrated. This is the place where he will get his sight. He has too he will not stand anymore pity sound and people treating him with too much care. Yes, he is angry with his condition. He feels abandoned in a dark room without anything. But he cannot do anything the darkness consumed him. He feels alone in a room of eternal emptiness. Suddenly a light breeze ruffles his hair. It calms him down. He relaxes a bit; sounds he can hear again cheerful sounds of laughter coming from kids. They must be coming from the window. There it is a different sound he shifts up a bit to hear that laughter. A sound that fills his heart. He has been here for only a few days and he remember that laughter. Her voice, she feels like a warm cheerful girl. she is here playing with the kids. He loved that laughter.
Listening to the sounds he focuses on the laughter, he smiled at the voice. The very first day he came here he caught that laughter. He has a small wish to see the person behind that voice. That thought made him sad. He is blind how can he see her?
There it is, there it is again. That beautiful voice. Somehow that laughter bought peace to his troubled mind. He leaned back listening to the voices outside.
