Chapter 70: Chen Liwei's Worries
"Me? Unreasonable? You're the one being unreasonable!! Han Xukun! Let me tell you. If you can't keep your distance with your clients, we're breaking up!! Breaking up!!! Do you hear me?!"
Chen Liwei was furious and depressed at the same time. He just wanted him to pay more attention to him. Han Xukun's been busy all the time and didn't have more time to accompany him.
Chen Liwei was just desperate for his love. He couldn't help it if he saw women clinging to his boyfriend.
"I told you there's nothing between me and my client. I know my limits and boundaries. Can you just please calm down? I have work to do so you go back first, okay? We'll talk later tonight."
After that, Han Xukun left for his appointment with his client leaving Chen Liwei there depressing.
From afar, Lu Jingyi couldn't bear to see him like that. Since they've become friends, she decided to see if he's alright.
"Hey, um.... Chen Liwei. Are you alright?"
Chen Liwei was stunned to see Lu Jingyi. He never thought they've met in such a situation. The way she's asking meant that she's already saw what happened.
Chen Liwei gave an awkward smile and put one hand at the back of his neck.
"I'm fine. Why are you doing here, Sister-in-law? Did you shop on your own? And by the way, just call me Liwei."
"Okay, Liwei. And yes I came alone to buy something."
Lu Jingyi paused for a while before she say what she wanted. Lu Jingyi smiled and patted her left shoulder.
"Do you want to find a place to calm down? I can lend you my shoulder."
Chen Liwei's mood slightly felt better after hearing what Lu Jingyi said. He nodded and they went to the nearest cafe they found.
Once they've place their order, Lu Jingyi was quite curious what happened to them but she controlled herself not to do so. She knew it wasn't appropriate to pry on their matter.
"If you need a listener, I'm always ready to listen. I don't mean to pry but if you need someone to listen to your worries, I'm here."
Chen Liwei was grateful to Lu Jingyi. A few moments later, he started talking.
"I know you're curious what happened just now. I don't blame you for wanting to know. Women are born to gossip. It's no surprise that you are too."
He's right. Lu Jingyi gave him an awkward smile after being seen through by him.
"Han Xukun has been really busy for the past few months and hadn't spend much time with me. I know his job as a famous lawyer could get a number of cases solved no matter how hard it is. The number of cases he needed to solve increases everytime I saw him."
Chen Liwei took a sip of his coffee and leaned back to the chair continued speaking.
"It's been hard for me to even spend an hour with him except when we're sleeping. Oh, have I mention we live together too. But every morning I woke up, he's gone and I know it's for work. When I want to see him, there's always a woman trying to seduce him. I was so angry. Not just his clients but his colleagues also. I know he's handsome and gentle but can't he just ignore those bitches when they're trying to flirt with him. Tell me, Sister-in-law, am I wrong to complain my worries to him? All he told me was that he knows his limit and asked me to stop worrying. But seeing is believing right?"
Lu Jingyi listened and analyzed the problem they had. She's not good at giving advice but she's good at giving her honest thought.
"Well, you're not wrong."
Chen Liwei felt a little relief hearing Lu Jingyi agreed to his thoughts until she said something made him thought twice.
"But, he's not wrong either. To be honest, I just think you didn't trust him enough. If you love him, you should trust him and respect him. You've said he knew his boundaries. Did he do something that really let you down? His job is also consulting his clients to made a reasonable decision. From what I hear, he's not wrong by consoling his clients to keep their rationality. If you saw his colleagues flirt with him, did you see him flirting back? Or did he get seduced by them? You saw them from a far, right? If you see him responding to their flirting, perhaps he's just brushing them off."
