At Eva's Mansion
Everyone was already up, except for Eva, she was so tired and was still trying to sleep, when her daughter came to jump on her, showering her with love, hugs and kisses. She thought to herself that 'Rosie was indeed a blessing in disguise, despite the fact that it was sudden and unexpected, she is glad to have her and she wouldn't change a thing for her in the world'. She looked at her daughter and smiled returning the affection that was given to her.
"Stop that, it tickles" they both laugh out loud. After a while, she got up to freshen up, while Rosie's nanny Angie who has been helping Eva out since she gave birth, came to get her to freshen her up.
By the time she got downstairs, everyone was already at the dining table about to eat their breakfast, she automatically joined them. She greeted everyone with a big smile, She prefers everyone to eat together including her home staffs, she says since they live together, they are practically family, the same blood doesn't have to run through them to be a family.
"Grandma how is your health?, I was in a rush yesterday so I couldn't talk, when last did you go for your hospital checkup? can I come for your next appointment?"
"For crying out loud, how many questions will you ask me at once, we are here to eat breakfast, not for chitchat," her grandma said rolling her eyes
"My health is good thanks, you worry too much, I'm fine and you do not need to follow me to my next checkup, it is not necessary" she continued
"But grandma..." she was cut off
"Don't But, just eat quickly" her grandma scolded her
"Yes, grandma" she murmurs quietly. She might be a mom now but still behaves like a child when shes with her grandma.
Just then she remembered Joey was coming by noon and she looked at the time and said
"Aunty, hope you've made some arrangement for what I told you when I got back?" She asked Rhoda. She knew Rhoda would have made the food preparations, but she still needed to confirm.
"Yes, I have ma" Rhoda replied.Her grandma was curious as to what they were talking about, but she did as if she didn't know anything.
After they finished their breakfast, they all went to the living room while her staffs went on doing their duties.
"Did you even remember to wish your mom, happy birthday yesterday?" her grandma asked
"Yes I did, even sent her gift and flowers but you know that woman will never change" she replied
"I heard she throw a party yesterday"
"Hmm Hmm, but I'm too busy to attend knowing she would find something to say to bring me down. I thought you were going to her party when you told me you are coming, well I won't be surprised if she didn't invite you"
"She did invite me, she said because your father told her to" grandma said
"Well I thought she would change a little bit, now that she is a grandma, but it seems that isn't the case" she continued
"I don't think my mother can change," Eva said in a displeased tone. After a while, the doorbell rang and Eva rushes to get the door. Joey was at the door with few presents in his hands, as soon as Rosie saw him, she jumped on him and hugged him, she was over the moon super excited and she misses this uncle
"Uncle Jo, I missed you" she jumped to hug him
"I miss you too my princess, that's why I'm here, to see your beautiful face," he said squeezing he cheeks. As soon as he dropped Rosie, he went to hug his grandma, he was like a big baby, Eva was just smiling at the situation
"Oh my young babe, I miss you so much" he is the only one that calls he's his grandma that, cos she doesn't like it when people says she's getting old
"My sweet boy, I've missed you so much too, see how lean you've become, are you sure you are eating?"
"Grandma I'm eating well, you don't have to worry too much, I've just been busy a lot lately"
"You need to take it easy". He nodded in agreement.
They all sat in the living room as he gave everyone their presents. As the afternoon went on they all enjoyed joeys company and were chatting about the past, present and future, all giggling.
Joey was curious about Eva's love life, because he wanted to be sure he can tell Addy to go ahead or stop.
"Eva do you have a boyfriend now?"
"No I do not, and I don't think I want one," she said
"Why?"
"Well there are a couple of reasons, but the main one is because I have a child and she's is a girl" she replied. She just can't trust anyone with her daughter knowing she's being hearing a lot of stories about creeps who rapes their girlfriend's child.
Joey understands what she meant
"But if you meet a good person and someone you can trust and he's willing to sacrifice everything for you and Rosie, will you be willing to date him," he asked
"Well if the person proves themselves to me and my daughter, I might consider it, but so far, I'm not interested in any relationship at the moment" she replied
