Chapter 22: Talent

Zack stared at the space ahead of him with a blank expression on his face.
Some might deduce that he was stunned or disappointed by the fact that he transmigrated into this world..
But the reality couldn't be any different, right now he was making a mental plan of surviving in this world.
After all, even if Lilith said that she will have his back, Ultimately it's upto him to live and survive.
And to be honest, he also didn't liked the feeling of overly depending or relying on someone else.
"Ms Lilith, Can I know how much time do I have till the Canon starts." He asked in a polite tone.
"Just call me Lilith."
"Then Ms Lilith, how much time do I have till the Canon?"
"Lilith"

"Fine. Lilith, when will the Canon start?"
Lilith giggled lightly and spoke: "Dear still has a month to prepare."
Zack nodded his head with a contemplative look on his face.
'1 month… It should be enough…'
"Right, you were talking about School?" He asked as he had a questioning look on his face.
"Oh yes! I have created an identity for you, you are a tranfer student at fujimi academy, I already took care of all the procedures." She said with a prideful tone as if asking him to praise her.
"Thank you, lilith."
In the hell, sitting on her bed, Lilith pouted at his polite expression.
'I guess I can't expect him to trust me so early…'
Back to Zack, he had already entered the shower, he wasn't bothered by the fact that Lilith may be able to see him.
From his point of view, they both have already seen everything of each other.
He took a hold of the shampoo present in the bathroom, 'Acqua di Parma colonia'.
He read the product ingredients and any side effects, after making sure there wasn't any, he opened the cap and used it.
While he was massaging his hair and scalp with shampoo, Lilith's voice again reverberation in his ears.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you about some other things as well, dear."
"Before that, why are you constantly calling me 'dear'?" Zack asked with a perplexed expression on his face, he ignored it in the beginning but he couldn't help but ask her eventually.
"Isn't that quite obvious? It's because you are my soul partner."
"Soul partner?" Zack asked with a weird look on his face, this type of things like soul mate or something only looked nice in romance novels.
"Hmm" She hummed in agreement and continued: "When you were mercilessly plundering and ravaging my body" She said in a pitiful tone like she has been wronged "I lost any will to resist and marked your soul as my companion soul." She ended her explanation in a happy voice.
Zack couldn't help but feel that he was the one being wronged, she was the one who made him sleep with her, not to mention that he could easily tell by just the overdramatic tone that she was teasing him.
"Ok fine, what else did you wanted to say?"
"Right, so there are a few things actually, first, the weapon that you created at that cultivation world"
"Psyche cutter" Zack helped her since it seemed that she didn't remember.
"Yeah that one, I decided to bind it to your soul."
"really?" Zack exclaimed with widened eyes.
He knew what this meant, after all he is the one who created that katana, that katana had the potential to cut the smallest atoms I'm the space itself, not to mention all the laws he fused with it.
If he really still had it, then this world would be smooth sailing.
"hehe, aren't I a very nice companion?" She said with a proud tone.
Zack was happy to be able to reunite with his katana, but there were a few inhibitions in his mind…
Should I accept it?
What if there is some hidden motive behind giving me this weapon?
What if she is also doing this for fun and the companion thing is also false?
What if….
Lilith seemed to sense his insecurities and said in a matter-of-factly tone: "Don't be so surprised just yet, even though I binded that weapon to your soul, it doesn't mean that you will be able to draw its full power just now…"
Zack snapped out of his musings and focused on her own words while turning on the water to rinse off the shampoo.
"When you created that katana, your power level was too high, for now if you summon it, it will be nothing more than an ordinary katana with great durability and sharpness."
Zack listened to her words at it made quite some sense to him, he made it like this after all, no weakling can handle such a weapon… the only reason that the weapon would answer to his summon was the fact that he was it's creator.
"Now onto the second thing" her voice echoed again after some moments "It's your terrifying amount of talent."
"As much as I know, I was just a ordinary human, I don't think I have some sort of hidden talent." Zack said while not believing her at all.
"true, you were just an ordinary human, but…" She paused for a moment before continuing "When you received that Bastard's powers, there were not only side effects for it."
"What are you getting at?" Zack asked as he turned the shower off and took a nearby towel to dry himself.
"Even though that power was borrowed, it still affected your soul and body" She said in a serious tone "Due to possessing so much power, your soul adapted to it and Strengthened itself."
No matter how much he thought about it, he found this subject to be too absurd…
My soul Strengthened due to some BS reason?
Isn't it too convenient?
"And other than that I also noticed something else as well." Zack pushed down his thoughts and listened to her again "You had some sort of system right?"
"Yeah" Zack replied with a solemn tone, this subject really irked him.
"The 'passive' skills in that system you had, have increased your potential in certain aspects."
"Huh?"
Zack let out, honestly he didn't understood what she wanted to say, even though he isn't stupid, it is only natural to have this reaction on a new subject.
"Can you phrase it to be more… understandable?" He asked, a little unsure to what to say.
Lilith chuckled lightly and replied: "Sorry about that, I will say it more clearly this time." She said with clear voice "Let's take an example of one of the passive skill, cooking. Dear must remember this, right?" She asked but continued without waiting for his answer "Now that dear doesn't have the said 'system', dear also doesn't have that passive skill. But... that doesn't end here, for some reason, your potential and talent in those areas have increased to a terrifying amount. Or to say it in an even easier way, your talent in cooking, alchemy, and other passive skills you had is unmeasurable."
Zack didn't answered her directly but took a few moments to process everything while wearing the school uniform he found hanging in the closet.
After fully dressing up, he took a look at himself in the mirror, the similar Green eyes and blonde hair greeted him.
"So having a talent in that area means that if I continue working on it, I will eventually reach to the state I was previously in?" He asked after careful consideration.
"Who knows? Maybe you will even surpass your past self with enough effort."
Zack's mood elevated after hearing this piece of news, It seems that this was a blessing in disguise. Even though he was tricked, he still gained something from it.
"That said, it will be natural that you will learn that certain aspects faster than others due to your talent."
Zack nodded his head in satisfaction and took a one last look at himself in the mirror, after making sure that everything is in place, he put his shoes on from the entrance and made his way to the outside.
