Chapter 5: Chapter 2.1 | The Spirit Realm

Ever since I came here, Jasmine kept me busy. I was already having trouble keeping up with her but she one day introduced me to an older spirit. From what I could see she was also a wind spirit.

"Well that's surprising." were the words that came out of her mouth. I was in a state of confusion. Not only because of what she said but also due to the fact that our conversation started with something completely unexpected.

"What is?" I added.

"I'm surprised at the fact that you can already change your appearance and not to mention, your element is quite unique.." She answered.

"So.. what do I call you?" I asked the woman who was currently inspecting my body.

"You can call me 'Big sis'." was the answer I got.

"All right, Big sis." I blurted that out without realizing.

"Wait! No, I meant your name!!" I added.

We then exchanged our introductions. We talked about various stuff for the rest of the day. My home was actually not that far from Jasmine's and Sylphine's. I was first quite surprised when I was told that I had to create my own home but that was surprising easy. Also, from our conversation, I learnt that the more spirits that appear, the larger the spirit capital becomes. Its in a realm of its own without claimable land so I guess that makes sense. My room was pretty simple. I had a bunch of ideas but was too lazy to decorate my room. I approached my bed and fell flat on it. Before I had realized, I had fallen asleep.

For the next few weeks, we did nothing but talk about various stuff ranging from Magical theories to rumors. On some of the days, Sylphine would teach me how to control my wind magic more efficiently meanwhile my other element was lacking behind. In the future, I had completely forgotten about it. Also, I had changed my outfit to sth that would fit the aesthetics of a spirit realm. Of course, that could only be said about the design as my outfit as always was black. And just like that, another day passed. When I arrived at the place we would always meet at, Jasmine was nowhere to be seen.

"Have you seen Jasmine?" Sylphine asked.

I simply responded by nodding my head. We discussed about where she might be but found no clue what so ever. We barged into her room and found traces of mana and a note.

[I got a summoning request. I'm curious about what lies in the human realm. See you guys later.]

We then agreed to go to my home. We were sharing our ideas on decorating and Sylphine asked me a really strange question.

"What do you look like?"

"Are you blind by any chance?" I answered.

"Huh? Do you not realize that your appearance is altered?" She responded.

There was a small awkward silence for a moment but I broke it by asking how to dispel it. My body was smaller by about 7 cm, my hair was green with streaks of white, my eyes were green and my dress just changed its size to fit me. What was surprising to me was how closely I resembled Sylphine. We could pass as mother and daughter. I learnt a few more about appearance alteration. Apparently it comes undone when you run out of mana and it drains mana but my equipment allows me to regenerate faster than the rate of consumption. Since I didn't know the rate of mana consumption, I turned it off and changed only the white streaks to green.

At that time she didn't know that in the future there would be a rumor going through the spirit and human realm that went like this; If a female wind spirit with a humanoid body's hair turns white, run away with all your might.

They talked for a bit before going to sleep. They didn't actually need to sleep. Its a habit the first spirit queen developed from travelling with her contractor in the human realm and the other spirits began to develop it after watching the queen and soon enough, it became a part of their lives.

The next day, we decided to have a spar. While the area kept growing with the appearance of new spirits, a lot of them live together and some are in the human realm and some take too less space. Due to that, they were able to grow forests at the boundary of the spirit realm.

We traded blows for hours without break. The only sound that could be heard was the wind rustling through the leaves and our swords clashing. All other sounds produced by our body was being suppressed as a part of our training.

We stopped our sparring after a few hours, while we couldn't sweat, it was very tiring. After that we went to Sylphine's room and started reading some books until we both fell asleep. The next day we were holed up in her room discussing magic theories. We even attempted a few of them and blew up her room.

"You know how wind blades create some sound when its fired?" I asked.

"Yea, what about it?" She asked.

"Maybe we could mask that sound and make it sharper for assassination and stuff?" I replied.

A surprise could be seen on her face for a while before we started tweaking the magic circle and coming up with more theories. In the end, not only did we succeed in masking the sound and sharpening it, we also ended up making it much more mana efficient.

We didn't know that later into the future, due to this, wind magic would then be the best pick for assassinations.

On the next day, I decided to move in with Sylphine. After all, it was much more convenient. We spent the entire day renovating the house and upgrading it and judging by the look on her face when I told her about my plans to move in with her, she probably never expected that she'd be living with someone. I didn't really have much stuff and with the help of a few volunteering water spirits, we managed to get he moving done pretty fast. While we could make furniture and other things with magic, it has a time limit and will eventually disperse unlike the ones made from wood found in the forest that was cultivated from saplings brought from the other realms. While moving stuff, we met a newborn water spirit, her name was Aqua. She was the total opposite of Jasmine. Speaking of Jasmine, I wonder how she's doing right now. She hasn't contacted us in ages.

With the help of Aqua, we created a couple of new spells. I left the naming to the two of those out of fear that my 8th grader syndrome might start acting up again. I also used other elements more frequently and my hair color slowly started dulling which was hard for others to tell because I made it look like nothing had changed using magic.

One day we decided to head into the Human Realm to conduct experiments which could rather be interpreted as to wreak havoc. I had acquired Hightened Senses along with Aqua and Sylphine while playing around with magic. I also found that I could change my name and it would seem as if my name was that from the very beginning. I didn't really have name in mind so I just left it be for now.

We decided to head deep into a forest. We stopped at a place where there was very low presence of living things. We first began by testing if the spells worked the same in the Human Realm. Truthfully, it worked even better than expected. In the Spirit Realm, the mana of our spell couldn't blend in with the environment due to the mana present there. But it was different here. We decided to fire off a few spells we created and they worked way too nicely. We ended up destroying a part of the forest.

We decided to take a break, we sat down and starting drinking mana potions, normally spirits are contracted to a being and use the mana of the summoner so they do not need to drink it but we're doing this without contractors. After resting up for a while, we began the creation of a disaster that would deal devastating damage to the Human World. We had Sylphibe work on the wind movement, Aqua who would work with water and I would work on other elements of the spell. We decided to make a tornado but not just a normal one, one where multiple elements were combined and the winds were sharp and deadly. The highly pressurised water would also play a huge part in this. While the wind blades would've cut them to pieces, the pressurised water would make sure that no one escaped being cut into multiple pieces. I had added a few lightning and fire spells in the mix. We noticed a few issues with the circle and the idea we came up with was to create a tornado with 3 layers. One that would cut anything, another would electrocute it and the last one would vaporize the target.

=200 Years in the Future=

"The tournament will be postponed! Everyone evacuate! The Storm is approaching!"

"Now that takes me back." I said.

"What does?" Albert asked.

"The creation of the Storm, we got punished harshly for letting loose such a disaster upon this world." I replied.

"Do you wish to confront the Storm?" I asked.

He gave me a rather strange look after I said that.

"To be honest, even I'm at a loss. Let's just treat it as a normal natural disaster and run away!"

======================

We flew up to the skies and watched as it began to drain our mana and grow faster and stronger. In a couple of seconds, the area that we were standing on had been reduced to ashes and soon, it began to move towards a human country. We created a portal to the Spirit Realm, dashed into the castle and asked the Queen for help.

We explained everything to her and she had a very scary expression on her face. She opened another portal almost as twice as fast than us and sealed the storm before returning.

"The barrier should hold out for a couple centuries, if it breaks, its your responsibility. Now then... for your punishment."

We got spanked a couple of times, and grounded for 15 years.

Naturally, I never learnt my lesson so I spent the 15 years making more spells and researching more stuff. When we were finally free, we fired off a few more spells and ended up causing mass destruction in our wake as always. We helped with the repairs and decided to take a break, we then looked at each other and the repair in progress and started laughing. It has been 15 years but we're still the very same curious, mischievous and playful spirits.

In the Human Realm, people were wondering about they invoked the wrath of the gods. The three were famously known as the Goddess or Wind, Goddess of Water and the Goddess of Destruction. All though the names were different, they were referring to the three spirits who had no idea about this until later.

90 years later, when we were busy dozing off, our levels went up by a lot. I jumped from level 9 to 84. Sylphine reached level 72 from 17 and Aqua reached level 63 from level 4. We had no idea that someone had broken the seal and the storm was let loose. Since we all leveled up, it had to be something that we three worked on. The first thing that came to our mind was the Storm. We decided to report it to the Queen.

"Disguise as humans and find out what happened to the barrier, the Storm and seal it or stop it. I will need the help of strong allies in the future. It would be nice if you had human knowledge then." Were the words of the Spirit Queen.

We decided to turn our hair into shades of brown, blonde or black. It was a good decision because those were the common hair color of the humans. We crafted a few robes and... unlike me, Aqua and Sylphine crafted robes too good to stay low. I had to make a few changes then we headed off to the Spirit Realm.

While we were in the human realm, I decided to look into the ruins where I first woke up. I found nothing. We split up and decided to look for information regarding the Storm. We decided to stay at an Inn before deciding our course of action and discussing the intel we found. We decided to sign up as adventurers so that gathering intel on stuff like this would seem natural. Before signing up as adventurers, we decided to drop by at a weapon store and the weapons were quite mediocre. I opened my System Shop and bought a rapier for Sylphine, a Staff for Aqua and me.

Since I leveled up, I got 1500 Satus points, I put 750 into INT and 375 into both AGI and DEX. My stats were looking quite stacked. Then we set off on our journey to follow the trail of he disaster we created. Even though this happened a few months ago, they still weren't able to recover due to the Storm destroying the resources on its path. We faced against dragons, undead and all other sorts of monsters. Although the dragons were annoying to deal with due to their strong resistance, we could now finish a one on one fight against a dragon in 7 minutes.

Our journey was rather longer than expected. We followed he trail of destruction left by our creation for 5 years before finally sealing it. We had also heard some of the rumors of us being Goddesses who were angered and stuff so we decided to leave a note behind.

We sealed the Storm underground and created a sturdy pillar that had a wooden plate saying

[Sorry for the inconvenience our creation has caused. If the Storm is able to break free again, we might not be aware of it until its too late.]

"Doesn't that sound a bit ominous?" Sylphine and Aqua said at the same time. We just laughed it off and went back to the Spirit Realm. We reported it to the Spirit Queen and went back too our mundane lifestyle except when we do an experiment, it wasn't only our house but an entire lane of houses blowing up. Aqua also decided to join in with us. We would share our delusions and make more spells as always.

We would occasionally make a visit to the Human Realm in the name of checking on the Storm. I would go look for materials I could use for research. Aqua would simply go there to take a breather and Sylphine would go there to experience human contraceptions and creations. Eventually, Sylphine got summoned and got contracted to a person she was acquainted with. It was a bit awkward for them but that's another story.
