Chapter 4: Chapter 3
Lunch was fun yet calming. Reid and his mother talked about school and how he was faring. Most importantly, she asked whether he had any friends which he responded with a prompt 'no' for various reasons.
Now, two hours after lunch, it was time for him utilize the system which he had partially ignored for the past years.

He looked at his stats which had barely changed since enrolling in the academy. From what he had observed in the academy, he had unusual speed for a six year old. It was just barely above that of some of his classmates which was saying something seeing as how he was in a class filled with ten year olds.
After all his highest stat is dexterity. The Uchiha strength is in their speed which when used in tandem with the sharingan, makes them a force to be reckoned with. Their high level of speed allows them to quickly react to the scenes or moments captured by the sharingan. Seeing an incoming attack is pointless if you're not fast enough to react.
With that in mind, he decided to focus on increasing his dexterity stat. He was currently at the academy track field which was very large. It is usually used in the final years of the academy to test the graduating students. It was empty at the moment.
Taking a running stance, he prepped himself. After a short mental countdown, he took off at full speed. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him. With his speed, it took him two full minutes to clear it.
He panted heavily as he finished the run.
'Too slow...It took over a full minute. Again!' With those thoughts in his head, he went back to his starting position and proceeded to rerun the track. He ran as fast as he could, ignoring his aching muscles.
What he didn't realize was that from afar, a figure watched him run through the entire track multiple times, only stopping for a brief rest once in a while.
'He's really determined about this.' The figure thought before slipping away from the scene.

A very tired Reid dragged his exhausted body back to his house. He hadn't stopped running until nightfall and he was sure he'd made progress. He was also very sure that his mother was extremely worried for his safety which made him hurry back home despite the pain in his muscles.
Surprisingly, his mother didn't seem to react much when she saw how dirty and exhausted he looked. She was obviously worried but it seemed like she expected the current situation.
'Weird...' he thought as he let his body soak in the warm water in the bathtub.
'Let's see what changed. Stats...' he mentally called out.

'I gained three points in dexterity today. The rate at which it increases will probably slow down in the future. It's best to milk out as much points as I can without using stat points.' He thought before he let out a smile.
'If I continue at this pace, compared to the others who have barely begun physical training, I'll be the top for sure.'
"Ughhh...." He groaned as his muscles relaxed. He felt like he could fall asleep the way he was.

That was his routine for the next few days. Wake up, go to the academy, do his own personal training and soak in a bath at the end of the day.
Due to the exhaustion, he barely wake up in the morning to get ready for school. He did his own training and also did the ones they were instructed to perform.
Never had he ever felt so overworked. It got to the point where he could barely move after the first week, which led to this moment.

He was currently in his room, laying on his bed. He wasn't in bed because he just woke up, he was in bed because he had no choice but to be there.
"But mom-" "No" Reid started but was interrupted by his mother.
"But-" he tried again but was cut off even more firmly.
"No. You're not going anywhere until you recover. You can barely get to the kitchen without wobbling." She said as she stared him dead in the eyes with a frown.
This was the most serious that he had ever seen his mother and it scared him a bit. He lowered his eyes to the floor as he couldn't look her in the eye.
"You're not allowed to leave this house for the next three days." With that said, she left the room. Barely three seconds later, her head peeked past the door as she said with a smile.
"Breakfast will be ready in thirty minutes." And then she closed the door. For the brief few seconds that he saw that smile, he was confused as hell.
'The speed at which her mood changes is scary...' he thought, too petrified to move from the bed. He was in that state for a few moments before he managed to shake it off.
'Status...' he thought with a sigh.

Despite the exhaustion in his bones, he managed to form a smirk.
'My labor is paying off. If it's this easy to gain dexterity points then how fast is an actual huntsman?' Instead of being scared by such thoughts, he was motivated even more.
He wasn't sure how he would compare to his classmates seeing as how he didn't have an observe skill. He had tried and failed to acquire such a skill so he had to train as hard as possible to prepare for any possible surprises.
'Mother, I won't let you down!' He thought with conviction as he stared at the stats screen in front of him.
