Chapter 2:

''Haa.'' Inside a certain apartment in Konoha, a young blonde boy was currently seating in a mediative position on his bed. He wore a black tracksuit with red stipes along the arms and pants, underneath his jacket was a plain black shirt.

He'd been up all night fusing the nine-tails chakra with his.

Slowly openining his eyes, he revealed a miraculous scene. His left eye was an entrancing oceanic blue while his right eye had a slanted pupil and was red in color, it bore more resemblance to a beast's eyes.

[ Looks like the changes are starting to become more prominent. I just didn't imagine you'd get such some of my features.] Karuma commented with a smirk.

''Shut up bunny ears.'' He rolled his eyes at the fox.

[Hmph, how can a child understand anything about the majestic being that is me.] The fox snorted and replied.

''Sure you're great.'' The boy replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm.'' Sometimes it felt as if the legendary tailed beast inside him was just a spoilt child. It was always like this since the past four years. At first Karuma was just using the boy but after the four years, Karuma's perspective of the boy changed.

Naruto didn't see Karuma as a monster, he even went as far as asking the fox to be his friend. At first Karuma was baffled by the lack of fear the boy showcased towards him. After repeated and failed attempts at rejecting the boy, Karuma relented and decided to play along with the farce.

Since then they had started getting along. Naruto's talkative nature and interesting personality made it hard for the fox to hate him. Karuma wasn't sure if Naruto would feel the same if he ever found out about what happened all those years ago when he was unsealed.

....

After fixing up his room, Naruto walked outside, the light assaulted his sensitive eyes causing him to hiss in annoyance and cover his eyes. His eyes slowly adjusted.

Not feeling up for learning today, he walked towards Ichiraku and get some ramen, he still had enough money left over to buy a few bowls.

It wasn't healthy, he knew that but everyone else would sell to him at absurdly inflated prices. The shop owner on the other hand even gave him free food.

The bustling streets quieted down as he passed by, he received death glares from the onlookers, but the boy was used to this. He just strolled to his destination without minding them.

'Maybe I'll head towards the swing before breakfast.' The young boy thought up his plan for the day. He finally arrived to his destination.

''Ayame-san, one bowl of miso ramen please.'' He made an order.

''Oh! Naruto-kun, why do you have bags under your eyes?'' A cheerful Ayame asked.

''I just didn't get much sleep last night.'' Naruto replied offhandedly.

''That's not good for your health, maybe you should go take a nap after eating.'' Ayame suggested as she dished up for him.

''Yeah, I'll do that.'' He replied, not that he could sleep after what he did last night but she would definitely not leave him alone if he said otherwise.

''Thanks for the meal!'' Naruto said enthusiastically and started devouring his food. After he was done having his fill, he said goodbye to Ayame and Teuchi and left.

He arrived at his favorite swing, he sat down and started rocking back and fourth gently. His eyes became unfocused as last night's events played out in his head. The whole thing still felt like an extremely intense dream, the blood, fearful looks he got and the feeling of tearing flesh on his hands was all so vivid. He was ashamed to say, but he enjoyed taking his revenge.

He was about to dive into his own world of contemplation when he heard sobs and repeated words of apology not far in the woods.

At first, he was going to ignore it, he didn't feel like helping anyone in this village full of cruel people but something deep within him forced him to get up and search for the source the voice.

What he discovered was a group of three boys (about a year older than him.) They surrounded a young girl who was crying and kneeling on all fours on the ground. What surprised him was the girl's eyes, they were only exclusive to the hyga clan and from what he knows even a child from that clan could stand up for themselves against a bunch of weak commoners.

Yet the girl seemed to be kneeling and even apologizing to her bullies. Deciding that he saw enough, he interjected.

''Don't you think that's enough?'' He asked with a low tone.

''Who are you!? Don't interfere, this has nothing to do with you!'' The pack leader asked menacingly.

''Does it matter who I am? Just leave her alone.'' Naruto replied.

''You asked for this!'' The boy with the missing tooth approached and launched a fist at Naruto.

The attack looked so feeble and slow in Naruto's eyes, he could probably evade it and launch a counter. But beating them up would only rile up the bloodthirsty villagers. He shuddered at the though of a second fox hunt this year.

Naruto side-stepped the attack and watched as the boy lost balance and fell to the ground. Seeing this, his friends also attacked. Naruto swiftly evaded their weak punches.

''Give it up, you can't beat me.'' Naruto advised the trio. He could feel a desire to fight back we'll up within him, and he knew if he gave into it killing the kids wouldn't be an impossible scenario.

''Damn you.'' The missing tooth boy was ready to go again but his friends held him back.

''Stop it, he's stronger than use. Let's just leave.'' One of them advised, giving Naruto one last death glare, they picked themselves up and left the area.

Naruto just nodded at their smart decision not to bring anymore unneeded trouble to him, he approached the girl, he couldn't help but frown as he saw himself in the girl. Weak and confused, the perfect target to bully.

''You okay?'' He asked and picked her up, the girl shyly nodded her head. She was always nervous around strangers.

''You shouldn't let them bully you like that, if you have the power to protect yourself and what you love. Don't hesitate to use it.'' Naruto advised; he could see from a glance that the girl could beat all three of the boys.

''Your will shouldn't be so easily shaken ya'know.'' He gently rubbed her head, their heights were the same so the scene was quite weird but Naruto didn't care.

'' T-t....thank-.'' The girl steeled herself to thank her savior.

''HINATA SAMA!'' A sudden shout jolted the two awake, all Naruto could see was a shadow before something grabbed his collar and threw him hurdling towards a tree.

BAM!

The impact caused the boy to lose all air in his lungs and faint, the last thing he saw was another member of the hyuga clan dragging the little girl away.

.....

He woke up and the first thing that entered his vision was a enormous gate with a paper seal on it, behind the gate was a chilling presence and two eyes staring at the boy.

[That's what you get for trying to help, humans are ungrateful. The sooner you learn that the better for us.] Naruto just stood up and grit his teeth. He couldn't refute the beast; all he did was help but he was thrown like a rag for doing so.

''Not all humans are the same.'' He argued, his faith in some people still persisted, and hestill held hope that someone would accept him. Otherwise, he would've tried to end his miserable life long ago.

[They just want to use you boy, even those 'kind' people want to get something from you. Especiall that old man, he just helps you cause you're his weapon.] The fox disproved; he had watched through the boy's eyes over the years. He failed to understand why the boy could still be so hopeful even after all he went through.

''You might be right; he did leave me to fend for myself even after promising to take care of me. But Teuchi-san and Ayame-san have no reason to be so kind, they're just naturally good people.'' Naruto replied, him and the fox didn't always see eye to eye.

[Grrr!! Suit yourself boy, it'll only get worse from here and I can't always feed you chakra if I'm shackled by this cage.] The fox said aggressively and expelled the boy from his mindscape.

...…

Naruto woke up with a jolt, there was a prickling pain on his back. When he tried to rub it he hissed in pain and pulled his hand back, there was some blood.

It seemed that some splinters from the tree had embedded themselves on his back.

Looking at his surroundings, the boy could see that it was already night-time, he picked himself up and limped back home. He had exams to prepare for in a week's time.
