Chapter 3: III

Seraphina walked gracefully down the stairs as her eyes met with the one person who promised her the world but threw it all away. She strode towards him with a obvious sneer plastered on her face, she wouldn't act like she was hopelessly in love with him because she wasn't. She sat down without greeting him and leaned against the table. Seraphina couldn't forget the moment where he crushed her because he had found someone else, he had promised her the world but of course he wouldn't keep it. She could still vividly remember his disgusting smirk as she was about to die, it was stained in her mind.

"Why are you here?" she asked without looking at him.

"I have come to see you because we're engaged", he countered back. Seraphina finally looked directly at him, he was exactly the same. His black hair that was neatly pushed back with his captivating dark blue eyes, he was exactly the same and that's why she hated him. He had never payed attention to her, she was just a joke to him. He always found a way to humiliate her and make her feel worthless, he did it for his own amusement.

"No prince Callian, it's good that you came because I have something to tell you", she sipped on the sweet tea in-front of her. "I no longer want to marry you and I know you've always despised the idea, so I'm setting you free. You can meet someone you love now", Seraphina voiced out, every word she spoke was lifting a heavy weight off her.

"You love me?", the prince countered back, it was almost desperate. Perhaps, a question?

"Yes I did in the past, but I have realized you never did. Goodbye", she finally said with a genuine smile. Seraphina walked off happily, she was now free of one of her chosen fates.

Seraphina stared at the letter in-front of her, it was finally happening. This letter was a invite to a ball where she would meet the villain, the person who she would start to hate. In her last life, he had told her that the prince would break her and she should join him. Of course she didn't believe him and that made them fatefully became enemies. She didn't remember exactly but before she died she saw a unclear figure getting held back by the guards, the person was screaming something- she wanted to know who.

The villain- Delius Sin, the duke that is rumored to own a assassin guild, the person that would kill without remorse and the person who Seraphina wanted to meet. Everyone was scared of him, he held immense power that was feared by all, however to Seraphina he was someone that would be able to change her fate. Her lips curved up into a smile, she was going to get back at all the people who had made her this way.

When she had died she saw fragments of her past life, the life where she pursued the career of a doctor. Seraphina had felt all the emotions, the pain, the happiness the feeling of adrenaline rushing through her veins as she held the scalpel. She knew what she wanted to be, what she craved to be.

Seraphina grabbed the stack of books on her desk, her eyes carefully reading over the contents. There was a examination coming up and only the top 10 percent would be able to have a chance on becoming a doctor, she had to get in.

She was planning on going to sleep but something caught her eye. Her long hair that cascaded down in waves was the same as when she died, she wanted to be different, for her fate to change. Seraphina traced the engravings on the silver dagger, the beautiful outline of a rose, the cool metal rested on her palm as she grabbed a handful of her long hair. With swift movements her hair was now scattered on the floor, she felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of her. Seraphina let a small chuckle escape while looking at her new hair that rested just below her shoulders, she felt relieved.
