Chapter 2: On Our Way

"Follow the yellow cloud he says. We've lost sight of that cloud in no time at all. How are we supposed to find our destination" he sighs. Shawn looked at me as if he expected me to complain along with him. "Just keep your eyes peeled for now. We'll see it again eventually". A mysterious yellow cloud that appears to have a mind of it's own appeared before us.

"See, now all we have to do is follow it" I said with a little optimism. Five days into our journey, we found ourselves in the country of Greece. The soldiers I brought with me suddenly felt like they were a burden. They were hopelessly exhausted, I can't blame them for their fatigue but the luxury of rest can't be applied here. We are pretty far from our destination even now.

"Should be obvious that they'll faint at this rate. We can't go on any further until our men has recovered" Shawn advised.

"Oh boy! This is going to be a pain. We are already late". In the e nd I had no choice but to agree with Shawn. We stopped in Corinth and rested there for five hours. During our break, Shawn suggested that we do some sightseeing. Naturally people were staring at us, all for the same reason. "Romans walking casually inside their homeland without permit. This never could have happened if it weren't for King Solomon" Shawn brought up. I nodded agreeing with him. Normally for my men to pass through another king's territory, I would have to request permission first. The Crown War is the only exception where the rule can be forgotten. "But still, the relationship between Greece and Italy is marvelous. I'd say we are friends so bad things should not run through anybody's mind".

"You may never know my king. Never know".

Shawn and I headed to several museums and even theatres to see what kind of entertainment was available. Close to one of the museums we have visited, a woman could be seen screaming loudly for help.

"BABY! Where are you!?". A lady's voice could be heard from a mile away. "Go see wha is happening" I ordered Shawn. His reaction to my order needed much to be desired. HE dragged his feet towards the lady and asked for the specifics of her problem. He then came to me with those specifics. "The woman can't find her child. Very irresponsible so let's leave".

"Should we leave?"

"Of course. We have had sacrificed too many hours enough as it is. We should resume our journey as quick as possible" Shawn pointed at the yellow cloud above us as he said those worlds.

"We're helping that lady first. Imagine how frighten her child is, being separated from her mother".

"Huh? Serio—". I cut off his words by placing my finger on his lips. "Shut up and folloe orders. A child is missing. Find him!".

Shawn sighed at my request then brought the panicked woman forward. "Your honor?"

"You want my assistance? I would be happy to help". The woman before me was speechless, she most likely already knew where I was going and yet I offered her help. What will she do now? Be a fool and decline my offer or accept it knowing her child can be found faster. This decision is only unfair depending on how she thinks.

"Thank you, your majesty. Kevin was playing by the garden. I didn't think he would have run off once I turn my eyes away from him. I'm so ashamed". She decided to accept my offer, my exquisite. I wiped the tears falling down he lady's cheek and assured her "We will find this Kevin boy".

...

"KEVIN! Can you hear me?"

My soldiers and I split up and searched for the lost child named Kevin. Some were against my orders, thinking I am wasting time. Two hours of searching, Shawn found him in a barrel of apples. The boy was inside eating next to a vendor's stall.

"The heck you're doing in there!?". Shawn took the boy out of the barrel and began scolding him. The vendor who had no idea a boy was in her barrel began scolding the boy as well. Kevin's mother was relieved to finally see her child after hours but the vendor ruinied her reunion. "Who's going to pay for these apples the boy ate?".

I estimate that the boy ate around a dozen apples. The mother obviously did not have the money to pay for what the boy ate so I decided to do it in her stead. "Thank you, King of Rome. I am in your debt".

"No need for that. All I wish for is to flick your boy's forehead as punishment. He deserves something for giving you such a hard time". The woman happily agreed then brought her son's head closer.

FLICK!!

I showed no mercy while flicking the finger upon the child's forehead. "Owww!".

"Serves you right Kevin. Don't go eating vendor's goods without money" Shawn warns. The boy could do nothing except cry in his mother's arm. "Ahahahahah! Time to resume our journey to King Solomon's whereabouts".

We resumed our journey. Following the yellow cloud set by the king of kings. What I just went through, my gut tells me that was a test. A test I would have failed if I had ignored the woman's need for help. Everyone was ignoring the woman, if I had ignored her too then what would differentiate between me and them? What would make me a good candidate for the KKing of Kings throne? I would be considered one of the normal folks if I had prioritize time over her child's search. That's how I feel on the matter, I don't regret a thing.

"Fool". I heard Shawn utter something just now.

"What was that Shawn?".

"Nothing your majesty".

Chapter 2 -The Meeting of Six Rulers.

As expected, we were not going to make it for the Royal Gathering in time. On the day of the banquet King Solomon set, my men and I were still far away. The yellow cloud gave us no hints of our destination. Currently we are on a narrow path in the middle of the ocean. One slip up and all of us will be drowning to our deaths.

"I thought this journey would have been simple".

"You're the one who made it difficult". Shawn has been getting away with how he speaks to me lately. Makes me wonder if I am doing a good job as King. At any rate, we will arrive a day late for the banquet. Everyone will probably be gone by then. "Hmm, this can work too". Next day around dawn, the yellow cloud we followed all the way from Rome finally disappeared. Once it vanished, a portal appeared before us.

"WOW! So he really does have powers" Shawn said impressed.

There has been several signs before this indicating that the King of Kings possess supernaturaly abilities but still….To see a portal appear before me was something I could not have prepared for. "Could this be the door". We travelled thorugh the portal as intended.

"At long last we've made it".

A ginormous gate was before us. Shawn and three others knocked on the gate with loud shouts behind them. On top of the gates, were people holding a telescope. After identifying who I was, the gate slowly opened. Two men wearing nothing but yellow robes and wearing a sun necklace around their neck walked towards me and my men. "You have kept our majesty waiting".

"Your men can follow us. Please make your way to the dining hall".

I did as told and navigated my way to the dining hall. The mansion was massive, I easily got lost. Not knowing where I was within just a minute, Shawn came to my aid with a map in hand. "You're so lucky you have me some times" he said with a cocky attitude. With my right hand's help, we journeyed through seven flights of stairs until we finally made it to the dining hall.

"I wonder what happened in the gathering yesterday. Sure is bad luck to have missed it".

"Forget it. It wasn't something we could have prevented. My terrible sense of direction, my decision to bring men along with me despite there being no danger and my decision to help that woman in need brought us to this outcome. SO forget my mistakes if you know what's good for you". Shawn stopped in front of a large door having a sign pinned to it. "Realm OF Rulers. This has to be the place" Shawn said confidently.

"Thank you. Be sure to have my back in there" I told him.

"I will… most likely".

The heck! What's that supposed to mean!? Shawn giggled as he knocks on the door on my behalf. An old voice replied "Who's there!?". I knew that voice the second I heard it. It was none other than Kign Solomon himself. HE is just beyond these doors. The man who knows the World's origin is in the same building as me. I have to keep my composure now more than ever.

I answered "King August Caesar! The King OF Roman Empire".

"Ah Finally, let him in" the voice replied back. The instant I stepped foot inside the Realm of Rulers, I became paralyzed. An unimaginable amount of pressure weighed on my feet. King Solomon was not the only person inside the room. Eleven individuals gathered around a long table, five kings sitting down while another five stood behind their king.

….

Everyone began to stare at me. Shawn was keeping his composure just fine. In a room filled with rulers such as this, I am the one who should be giving him an example on how to act. For those who were staring, I looked each of them in the eye for more than three seconds. That was all the time needed for everyone to look away from me. 'Show NO Fear'. By just entering this room I could already feel the competition raging to begin. I am not sure what to think. Is it a good thing that the other rulers are still here or bad? I know I arrived a day late so I didn't expect everyone to still be in this room. All the chairs were 5 meters away from each other, I took seat that was at the next end of the table. Shawn stood behind me.

"Hehehe, you took your time getting here Caesar. Not to worry though, we know you have a peculiar reason for it. I can't wait to hear what your reason is". At the opposing end was the Kign of Kings himself. The man known to win Last Century's Crown War then suddenly disappear from the world. He can only be found when he chooses, other than that he might as well be a rumor started by us Kings. Long grey hair that reaches his waist, a shaved beard, crimson eyes, wearing sparkling clothes.

"Good morning King Solomon. It's nice to see you're alive and well".

"Hohohoho! Alive and well eh, to tell you the truth. I have a couple of days left before I drop dead. Hohohohohohoho!!". What he says was nothing to laugh at, yet he did it anyway.

"Now, the reason for your tardiness is....".

At the top of my head I conjured up numerous lies I could tell the King of Kings. Anything but the truth, some of the people in here looks intimidating. I rather them not know I am the type to help a random lady look for her child and that I have a terrible sense of direction. Those are things I rather have locked away. "Hmm. I'm late because my servant here got sick. He slowled me down big time" I said pointing at Shawn behind me. I was impressed by how little reaction he gave my lie, making it feel real. The King of Kings gave no suspicious look on my answer.

"Ok, your reason is plausible. Let's get down to business" King Solomon said.
