Chapter 3: Logbook #001 - The Happening

'It is the year 21XX, three years prior to The Happening. Just so happened to be a science experiment gone wrong, the effects of its disaster was utterly catastrophic. You could call it a silent biological attack worse than a nuclear bomb. Covering the earth, any known male on land whether human, animal or even smaller micro-organisms perished. Well not to be exaggerated but it was mostly "y" chromosomes that made it got destroyed, so some females who similarly had this gene also perished.

As per digging up the source of the disaster, a miracle was found. Such crystals of unknown elements used firstly as a power source for the scarce nature of losing certain stems of alphas was found out to be a key and a gate-caller for the third being of life. An alien species, calling themselves Guardians. The elders of this small group of alien species explained they were helping the mad scientist to create a cure for certain hard diseases of cancer and fuels but by accidentally mixing up both chemistry and biology into one, what they caused was an accidental epidemic.

Unlike humans, each variation of this guardians had copied features of animals and humans alike. Some could be animal-like whiles others could be related to mythos or elements of nature. Though looking unique and having powers of elemental manipulation, they too have their flaws and downs.

Just like the humans, they too lost their males, so in no choice, in agreement with the government, they tried hard ways to be able to get back an inch of alpha cells or hermaphrodites.

Just thinking, it was useless, they then tried other ways to help the humankind and alien kind alike. They created machines to maintain the proper build-ups of manpower and rations. Machines stronger than cranes and rations that could fuel you for an entire day without an urge to eat (though it's only in the experimenting phase among the military).

Guardians who were vastly intelligent in science and elements helped the scientists and millitarians make special weapons forged of typical plastics as strong as a diamond and heavier in the impact of damage, while ones who are better at strength and design were stuck to engineering, artistry and everyday life.

Few others of humans and guardians were given respect to try out making machines to help clone remaining cells such as sperms or eggs to be able to at least produce females.

Since the population was decreasing drastically they had no choice but to clone certain important people but having good advancement of technology, it was easier to tweak their looks as if a wholly different person but with the same behavior instincts.

Though The Guardians were sure they could help to get rid of this waste of a disaster they were nervous because they didn't want to rupture the thin line they have left and cause more casualties among themselves and the humankind.

After some time of working together and introducing themselves mostly to the public usually by spreading rumors, the remaining female humans and female guardians worked together and also partied together if there was nothing to worry about.

In the back lines of the governments though, an organization of elite scientists decided to work with the elders of the Guardians, Recruiting and scouting out individuals to join their special lab rat-like military to try out their firearms and special equipment. It was located in Hampshire, England. In a very distant forest that overgrown the plains.

Using a special machine that could track any possible mercenary, assassin or normally acting human who had good potential, they somehow stumbled an awe of the sight. A sign of hope.

Though confused, they recruited this person regardless, granting permission from the mother of this noble family. A male who somehow survived the catastrophe named William Endicrite.'

With a soft and heavy sigh, he muttered. "That's me."

From a distance of the tape's recording, an excited feminine voice shouted towards the male. "Hey, come on. Hurry up! We can't waste our free time here you know... Let's go to town."

"Yeah yeah...wait, let me just-"
