Chapter 2: Chapter 02.
The moment when Minjun introduced his best friend to me, I simply nodded my head, and when I was about to enter the room my brother spoke.
“By the way, someone had already brought your suitcases, and your uniform is on your bed” I smiled in response and entered the room, followed by three pair of eyes. “I’m leaving now, I hope you get along pretty well” He and his friend left, leaving us alone.
“So, Hyemin, what are you?” I raised one of my eyebrows, confused. My roommate noticed the confusion in my face and smiled. “Then I see it’s true. Let’s see how much time it takes you to find out”
“What do you mean?” I asked sitting on my bed.
“Nevermind. Anyways, if you ever need help with anything don’t ask me. Don’t bother me and talk to me as little as possible. If you can do those three things right, I am sure we will get along well” She pulled her hair back with airs of superiority, something that made me very mad. “And now, good night sweetie”
Monday finally arrived after a long and boring weekend. I spent it in my bedroom. What was I supposed to do? I had no friends and I didn’t want to bother Jun. I woke up from my bed and started getting ready, not seeing Hyekyo. When I arrived at the dorms the first thing I did with the uniform was keeping it in the closet, so I had no time to give it a proper look. The uniform was a black skirt, a line fabric white shirt with a black tie and a black jacket, with a shield embroidered on top left, which had a goblet, a mirror, a ring and a crown. That made me curious, so I was going to ask Jun later. After I got dressed, I brushed my teeth, my hair and then left the room, closing the door behind me. When I reached the end of the stairs, I saw Jun standing with another guy.
“Good morning Min” My brother greeted me and I greeted him back.
“Hey Hyemin, I am Kim Jisung, I’m finally meeting you. Minjun is always talking about you”
“Nice to meet you, those things better be good things or you will be in trouble, little boy” I replied and tapped my brother’s head.
“I’m older than you” He reminded me.
“I don’t care”
We started walking and once we reached the school building my brother stopped us.
“You will have to go to the principal’s office. He will be giving you your schedule and your locker things. After that, a guide will show you around, okay?” He informed me and when I nodded he started walking again. “Here we are. Good luck and see you later!”
“See you” I said and waved at them.
I knocked on the door and when I heard a ‘come in’ from the inside I did so.
“You must be Shin Hyemin, am I wrong?” A young man said from the other side of the room.
“Yeah, nice to meet you sir” I said, and he pointed at a chair.
“Sit down, please” I did so “Well, first of all, let me introduce myself. I am Mr.Choi, the school principal, and it's a big pleasure meeting you. Second of all, welcome to Black Candle HighSchool! I hope you make a lot of friends and get along with everyone” Ironic as I had already met someone who wasn’t really kind at first “And last but not least important, your schedule and your books are in secretary. I will give you your locker number and it’s combination. You will be having a school tour when you get out from here with a guide” He gave me a paper with the locker number and a map of the school. I stood up, bowed and left. When I closed the door I accidentally collided with someone.
“I’m so sorry” I apologized and helped the student to pick his books up from the floor.
“My fault, I wasn’t looking and I hit you. I’m sorry” He said. When I picked the books up I looked up and my eyes met with his yellow eyes. “What are these students being fed with that they look so good?” I thought. “Once again, I apologize. Did I hurt you?” I quickly shook my head “I will be late to class, goodbye!” He said and left.
Seconds later someone tapped your shoulder from behind.
“Hey, excuse me? Are you Shin Hyemin?” You turned around and nodded at the girl. “That’s good. Nice to meet you, I am Jung Dahae, and I will be your guide today!” She happily said I smiled. She was so kind. “The principal said I have to take you to the secretary to take your books, let’s go!”
We went to the secretary and they gave me the classes schedule and books. On our way to the lockers I took a look at the books and one of them called my attention. Its name was “History of Werewolves and Vampires” We reached my locker and I put the books there.
After she showed me the school and its classes, we went back to the lockers.
“You have Math now, right?” I looked at the schedule and hummed “Alright and after that what do you have?”
“Philosophy”
“Oh, I have Philosophy too! I will go to your class when it finishes and we will go together. If you want to, of course”
“Sounds good to me” I took the Math book and she went to the class with me “See you later Dahae” I waved at her and she waved at me back.
When she left I knocked on the door and got in.
“Hey, welcome! I am Mr.Gong, nice to meet you” The teacher introduced himself before yelling “Everyone in silence, please! We have got a new student, please introduce yourself.
I was now in the middle of the class, with a lot of eyes staring at me.
“Hello everyone, my name is Shin Hyemin and I am from the USA. I hope we can be friends and get along well. Please take care of me” I bowed and faked a smile.
“Welcome Mrs.Shin. Please, sit down next to Ayato. Ayato, raise your hand” He said and the guy put his hand up.
I sighed and sat in the chair beside him. Everyone in the class was staring at me, making me nervous.
“What are you looking at?” I rudely said, making everyone look back to the front.
“You are so rude, Min” Ayato whispered.
“”Do not call me Min, we are not friends” I coldly replied, making him smirk.
“Minjun is not your friend either”
“Shut up” I blurted out and he didn’t say a word after that.
When the class finished me and Ayato were the first students to stand up and leave. I went to my locker and then grabbed my Philosophy book.
“Hey again” Someone said and startled me. I turned around and saw Dahae. “How was your first class?” She asked while opening her locker, next to mine’s.
“Good, but when I sat down everyone was staring at me” She closed her locker and we started going to our class.
“Who did Mr.Gong sit you with?”
“If I’m being honest, I don’t remember his name. My brother introduced him to me when we arrived here but I can’t remember” She laughed and we arrived at the classroom, where there were already students in their seats. I saw two free seats next to a guy, so I told Dahae. I was about to sit when I looked at the student’s face and stopped.
“Oh shit” I said in a normal voice level, but loud enough to call everyone's attention “You are the guy I collided with this morning!” He nodded and laughed.
“I am Izume Yuruto, pleasure” He said when we sat down.
“I am Shin Hyemin, and she is Jung Dahae” I said and she waved at him.
I turned around to see Jun and two more guys sitting next to him staring at me. I was about to tell him something but the teacher arrived and the class started.
Class finished and all the students ran outside, as it was lunch time. I skipped the first lesson when Dahae was showing me the school. I was taking all my stuff when my pencil case fell and with it all of my pens. I told Dahae to wait for me at the lockers and I was now alone with two more guys, who probably didn’t notice I was there since their conversation seemed to me private.
“I have already told you” One of them said “My dad came with all his clothes ripped and he smelled to vampire. At least that’s what my mom said. After treating his wounds he said he caught a vampire trying to attack a human, so he called his attention and he ran away. My dad followed him and they fought in the forest, him with his wolf form. I don’t know what is going to happen next. If they keep attacking humans like this, I don’t know what would happen to the treaty they signed” And with this they left. I was shocked. What were they talking about? I woke up from the floor and left the classroom.
