Chapter 28: 028
Mary Jane Watson was in the living room of the Osborn mansion while watching a series along with Harry, the redhead was a little attentive to her watch, since in a short time Norman should arrive, and they would have dinner.
Honestly, she herself wondered if because of those actions she would be letting her professionalism slip, but with the talks, she had had with Norman where he mentioned that everything was fine, then she simply stopped worrying about it.
She really was happy to have such a kind and good boss, plus of course a child who was simple to take care of.
"Miss Watson" Harry's call brought her out of her thoughts and with a bit of haste she brought her gaze to the little boy, "What's wrong Harry?" the redhead asked softly.
"How long until Dad gets here?" he asked a little quickly, MJ thought he must be a little hungry, but because Norman hasn't arrived she didn't want to eat without him.
"It must be a little while, he's probably on his way" mentioned MJ, but it seemed that the answer didn't quite convince the youngest who adopted a somewhat discouraged attitude, "How about if I call him?" asked the redhead knowing well the value Harry placed on his father.
The little Osborn just nodded his head frantically which brought a smile to Watson's face.
Mary Jane just took her hand to one of the pockets of her pants where her cell phone was, once she had it in her hand she browsed through her contacts until she found the one saved as Norm, she had to make sure she never showed it to Norman because even though it wasn't an offensive nickname she didn't really know how he would take it, although it was very likely that he would just laugh a little and not say anything to her.
Mary Jane got up from the couch she was on and moved a little away from Harry to have some silence while she talked to Norman, but, although the call went through the other side didn't answer it, that fact made Mary Jane arch an eyebrow, it was quite strange it wasn't as if she often called Norman, but when she did he tended to answer quickly.
But despite her little surprise Mary Jane just shrugged her shoulders after all it was very likely that he was busy with company business, but it was likely that once he saw her call he would call her back, so she would just wait a bit.
Putting that aside and putting her cell phone away again Mary Jane turned her gaze back to where Harry was to inform him that she couldn't contact Norman, however her gaze immediately fell on the images that the television was showing.
It was an emergency transmission from the news channel, but her mind only picked up two words, explosion and Oscorp: "Bernard!" unconsciously she called out.

In Battery Park City at the Stacy family home the situation was somewhat similar to that of the Osborn mansion, but in this case, it was with Gwen and her mother watching the news.
The older Stacy tried to contact her husband with no result, while the younger Stacy tried to contact Norman which also resulted in no response.
Without further ado, Gwen contacted Dr. Curtis, but Connors had not been able to contact Norman either, which undoubtedly worried both Osborn's partners.
On the other hand, in the Hardy family residence, Walter along with his wife and daughter were in the kitchen, both women were cooking while Walter just watched them after they practically forced him to sit and watch TV after an accident.
But almost immediately when he saw the news about the explosion in Oscorp he took his cell phone and keys and started to move to the exit of his home: "I have to go, I'll see you later" said Walter to the confused look of both women.

Norman for his part was currently in one of the rooms of the hospital closest to Oscorp after the explosion in which he was involved, the emergency services arrived quickly and began to do their work.
At the exact moment of the explosion Norman thought about teleporting to another place, but he had been seen by many people so if he was not in the parking lot it could generate many questions that were better not to be asked.
However, he still used one of the columns near him to cover himself from the blast wave and the heat, he had some minor burns, but they could be treated with relative simplicity, in the course of the rescue search Norman helped the authorities, and although he did it partly because he felt he had to, the truth is that he was mostly driven by the fact that with that action he could generate again that his image would improve.
After all, most of the time when the same or a similar case occurs, the people with more power were the first to get to safety and did not even care about the others, in this case, although he was injured he still helped his employees and the authorities, which undoubtedly would make most of the city see him in a positive way.
Norman soon stopped thinking about it when he heard a knock on the door: "You may come in" mentioned Osborn.
His vision quickly looked to a nurse next to a police officer that he quickly recognized.
"Mr. Osborn" said George Stacy with a bit of weariness in his voice, Norman just nodded, "Captain Stacy" he returned.
"I know it might be difficult however I need to ask you a few questions, its part of the procedure" George explained the reason for his presence: "Of course, I totally understand" replied Norman implying that he would help in any way he could.
What followed after that was an exchange of questions and answers, just routine and procedural stuff, of course Norman kept to himself the fact that a man glowed orange and instead just mentioned that he might have had some sort of bomb, but he wasn't sure about that.
At the end of the questions Captain Stacy thanked Norman and started to leave the room to continue doing his job, "Captain Stacy how many people died?" asked Osborn.
Captain Stacy's pace paused for a second perhaps debating whether to say the information or not, but soon after a sigh left his lips, "Of the 62 people who were evacuated 12 of them died before reaching the hospital and 3 more in it, 5 people are in critical condition due to the burns they suffered, but the numbers could change, as the search is still going on" he explained with a defeated tone of voice.
"Thank you for answering my question" commented Norman sincerely so that Stacy resumed his pace and continued with his work.
Before long another person visited Norman who was in a pensive state and didn't seem to be paying attention to his surroundings.
"Walter" just as the man was about to call out to him, he spoke, "Yes Sir" he answered quickly.
"I want all the information you can find about A.I.M and the people working in it, I want absolutely everything" stated Norman: "A new member will help you in this mission, but it has to be kept in total silence, I don't want a confrontation at least not for the moment, just bring me all the information you can gather" he explained with a little more detail.
"I understand" accepted Hardy even if he had questions to ask he knew they wouldn't be answered, not until he finished his work, so he simply didn't ask.
"You can go with your family, I'll contact you tomorrow" pointed out Osborn to him as he knew it was likely Walter would be spending time with his family before coming with him.
"Thank you very much" replied Hardy enthusiastically before turning around and starting to leave the room and Norman just shook his head wondering to himself if towards was how he acted when it came to Harry.
It was at that moment that Norman remembered his son and the people who should be waiting for him at the Osborn mansion, he quickly pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and looked at all the missed calls he had from Mary Jane, Bernard, and even Gwen.
Just as he was about to call he heard two shouts coming from the hallway, "MJ!" the recognizable voice of a blonde was heard first with a tone of total surprise.
"Gwen!" this time the voice of a redhead was the one heard with a very similar tone to the previous voice.
"What are you doing here!?" both voices were heard in synchrony.
