Chapter 2: Chapter 1: The Runway Catstrophe

My voluminous hair pumped up and my blue eyes glittering with anticipation of the moments to come. Joyfully, a tuft of golden blonde hair bounced in anxiety and excitement.Uncontrollably, my hands were shaking and my head was full to the brim of the possibilities of tonight. This was my only chance to impress my parents, the judges and the world. All eyes were going to be on me. And me only. No second chances. No turning back.

"You ready?" came a voice

Silently, I nodded my head in response. I looked once more into the mirror beside me. No longer did I see a 16 year old boy fulfilling his life's passion but an adult carrying out was necessary. It was going to be OK. Nothing would go wrong. I promised my self all this with unwavering certainty.

Breathe in and out. Suddenly, the calm of backstage was now wiped out. Upbeat music filled my ears and flowed into me and my whole being was now moving. My head was buzzing full of anxiety. The pressure was mounting on my shoulders with each step. All of a sudden, my vison started to blur at the edges, a red haze coming over me. Violently, the earth started to shake, the music was drowned out and my head started spin. My body fell limp onto the hard cold floor. The hard cold reality of my profession. My eyelids began to droop and as darkness enclosed me. Merde. Everything was going wrong...

-

My eyelids sprang open.

"Yuna-Yang! Wake up immediately" screeched a familiar voice awakening me from my slumber

Boldly, I propped my legs onto my desk only to find myself being stared at by everyone in the room. The stupid grin that had spread across my face disappeared. Breathing a sigh of annoyance, reluctantly, I placed my legs down all the while staring at my teacher's fuming face.

Treading carefully, I asked "So, do I get in trouble?"

Not very discreet but it got the job done. Her face was red with anger. Shakily, a bony finger pointed to the exit. With my head down, I walked across the room, through the corridors and into a room filled with keys clacking and people blankly staring at computer screens. The receptionist sighed and went back to whatever she was doing.

I took a seat on the bland chair and waited. Waited. Waited. A short bulky middle-aged man came out with dozens of papers and a frown on his face. His forehead was wrinkled and beaded with sweat. A storm had hit his hair. The wind had bashed him around a bit for good measure. Where an ocean may have been, now lay a dry desert in his eyes. His eye bags drooped indicating the long sleepless nights he had to endure.

The Principal.

Forcibly, I restrained my sigh of disappointment : hopefully looking up with innocent eyes. As his eyes continued to stare at the pile of papers cradled in his arms, I rolled my eyes with no regret.

"Come in," he commanded in a deep gravelly voice.

"The sixth time this week you've been sent here. What went wrong this time?"

"I fell asleep," I replied in a flat tone

"2 hour detention, 3 chances left!" the monster returned

I walked out not looking back.

-

Instantaneously, my eyes snapped open to the sight of wires surrounding me and a soft minty scent hung in the air. A blue hospital gown clothed me. Surprisingly, no one was around me. Remembering the disaster on the catwalk, my face fell immediately and my forehead creased with lines of confusion. The door creaked open and a nurse came in. Her gentle face smiled with joy and she ran out once more. Carefully, the door was opened and in came two familiar figures. First to come in was my mother. Magnificently, her chocolate brown curls bounced upon her shoulders, her grey eyes glistened with tears and her soft touch embraced me just at the look of her. Next my father came in. Perfectly, he walked up to my bedside; his platinum hair gleaming and reflecting on the few beams of sunlight.

However, they both had a serious look on the faces.

"Andre, we need to talk,''
