Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Shock
After leaving the village, Soro starts to walk into the forest nearby the village. There were only a few animals that he came across. He could not earn much experience. And soon, night arrived. So there was nothing that Soro could do. He prepared food for dinner and then sleep.
The next morning.
I open my eye to see the morning sun. Yesterday was an unlucky day. There were only a few rabbits and squirrels that I managed to find. Kiki has some guesses about what's going on here but he wants to check the nearby dungeon first.
So I agreed, and we walked in the direction that the warrior captain told us yesterday. Soon we find a big hill with a cave entrance. Kiki also confirms that this is a dungeon or a safe dungeon from what the chief said.
I take a peek into the dungeon. From the light that shines into the dungeon, I see many eyes are looking at us. Those are all rabbits. So I turn to look at Kiki and ask.
"Are dungeon suppose to be like this? Full of weak animal?"
Kiki also not sure about it. Then he explains:
"Normally, a dungeon has a floor fill with weak animal like this at a hidden area. They will work as livestock to sustain other animals like wolves, bears, or goblins. But this dungeon is odd. I want to see the fairy that manages this dungeon."
Then we start to make a torch and get inside. I gave an order to my wolf to start killing everything that they see. Soon all rabbits that we come across died and their corpse disappears, which Kiki said that is the work of a dungeon.
The odd thing is my skill and experience. My skill not upgrading and I am getting no experience from the killing. So I also assumed that is the cost of the dungeon doing.
Soon we arrived at a stair that leads down to another level. This one is also full of rabbits. So this time we just ignore them and go to find the core room.
But while we ignore them, a few rabbits that are bigger than normal rabbits start to attack us. Seeing this, my wolves turn to charge at them and kill them all in a flash. After that Kiki come close to me and say:
"Those are tier 1 rabbits. With a rage ability."
I suddenly turn interested. So I ask Kiki:
"Can I get a blueprint from this dungeon core, once we meet them?"
Kiki reply confidently: "Yes boss! Even if they refuse, we can force them."
"Alright!"
Soon we found the core room. After clearing all the rabbits, Kiki tries to shout out to find the fairy of this dungeon. But he couldn't find any. While he doing that, I have been looking at the core the whole time. I can feel that the core is trying to communicate with me via mental communication.
Then I hear: "You human killed my fairy and force me to spawn rabbits non-stop for you. And now what do you want from me?"
Soro turns shocked for a bit. He didn't expect that he can talk with a dungeon core. So he tells Kiki about what the core said. Then Soro ask:
"What do you think?"
Kiki replies with a frown on his face:
"I can't believe that humans kill fairy and enslave a dungeon-like this. So it's not that the fairy is stupid but the dungeon has no fairy to start with."
Hearing this, I let out a sigh. What a pity dungeon. I try to communicate with the core but the only thing I received is an insult. I am a bit piss. But I can understand that this core becomes mad from what the human has done to it.
So I decided to walk close to it and give it a pet.
Suddenly I feel that there is a notification from my system. I open it and see:
Do you wish to absorb the dungeon core?
Note: after absorbing the core, you can pick 1 skill from the 4 random abilities that the cores have.
I am surprised by the notification that I see. Without hesitation, I say yes in my head.
After a few second, the core that I am touching start to crack. Then I see:
Absorption complete. Skill randomizing.
Please select:
1: tier 1 Rage. Reduce 50% pain for 10 seconds.

3: none
4: none
Still in shock, I pick the option 1.
