Chapter 20: 20-The Test of the Strongest Finale
In the Ancient Stadium that was deep inside the Facility, The Darkness engulfed it. The only source of Light was the Torches all around the Ancient Stadium. A Shake in the ground was felt, It was more or less the same as the Huge Monster Leo and Alex killed. It was a strong Quake that signified the fact that a new Huge Monster would appear. Much stronger than the one Leo and Alex killed.
The Prisoners that were heading to the Iron Door turn their heads towards the direction of the bad feeling deep within their hearts. Some gulped in fear while some were clenching their weapons. They didn't know that another monster would rise after this. Spears and Shields were sure not to work against large monsters due to the fact that the weapons could easily be broken.
The 7 Strongest Prisoners which includes Leo and Alex also turned their heads. All of them had a serious face, It was obvious that most of them didn't want to fight another Monster. Leo and Alex had a reason for this. Their Stamina was low, They needed to take a rest or else their body would cramp itself. It was better for the two of them to not fight against another Huge Monster or else they would die.
"Formation..." Douglas muttered quietly. His voice was clearly heard by the Prisoners around him. They slowly gripped their weapons and began having another Formation. It was a bad formation for the current situation but they didn't have time to practice a new formation. The Semi-Phalanx Formation was easy to understand and easy to do. This was why Douglas chose this kind of Formation since the prisoners were inexperienced and really didn't have disciplined.
The Alarm Ringing Echoed in the Ancient Stadium. All of them heard the announcement, and most of them were shocked. The Announcement just keep repeating two words over and over again. Emergency and A Daemon has been detected, These two words were heard by the Prisoners. Most of them knew about the word or race called Daemon.
It was a race that lives deep in the Underground Continent or Infernus. Their abilities were unknown due to the fact that they were like the Angelus. Most of the Daemon rarely went out to the World of Barbarus or something was stopping them from going out. Some of the inhabitants of Barbarus even thought of them as some Legend or a Hoax.
The Prisoners began pointing their spears towards the Center of the Ancient Stadium. All of them gathered in one spot, This spot was near the Iron Door. Most of the Prisoners just wish that the Iron Door would open and they could get out without fighting the Monster slowly appearing in front of them.
The Dead bodies of Both Humans and Monsters were slowly getting pulled towards the Center of the Ancient Stadium. The ground shook wildly while the dead bodies slowly form an abomination. The Dead body of the Huge Monster that was killed by Leo and Alex became a part of it. The Hundreds of body that was laying on the floor also became a part of it.
A Behemoth was slowly forming in front of them, All of them knew that nothing can stop the Behemoth. Even Douglas was shocked at the thing in front of him. Leo had a serious look on his face, The possibility of the thing killing him was high. This was obviously a huge problem for him.
Alex, who saw the Behemot forming reach out to the Sheath of her Katana. She would get killed by the Behemoth in front of her but that doesn't mean she would die without a fight. She didn't have a goal in this world, All she did was follow what was told to her. Killing Monsters was her hobby and even there would be a time where she would kill humans mercilessly.
The Form of the Behemoth was finally seen. It was a 40-meter tall Monster, It was incredibly wide or fat. The Head was not seen but the Mouth was its whole Stomach, It had many tentacles all around its limbs. Possibly coming from the last Huge Monster, It had weird faces of the Humans and Monsters alike plastered on its skin.
"Get Down!!!" A shout was heard, It came from Grover. Most of the Prisoners turn their heads and saw that something was head towards them. They then get down to the floor abandoning the current weapons they had. Leo, who heard the shout knew that something was coming. He then notices that Alex was right next to him and with some unknown push that came from deep within him. He acted with his interest and something unknown that was deep within his heart.
"Watch Out!" Leo shouted while jumping towards Alex, Alex had no time to act due to the fact that her weapon and the fact that her blindspot was literally where the Attack was coming from. She drops her Katana while stripping her Sheath. She then proceeds to catch Leo who was heading towards her, she was using his momentum to force her to get down to the floor.
A Giant Tentacle that looks like a tail that came from Behemoth began heading towards the Ancient Stadium Horizontally. It pierced through the walls and began destroying everything in its way. Luckily it didn't attack near the ground which meant that there was a small space for the prisoners to dodge the attack.
*PANG!!!*
The Tentacle passed through the Prisoners, The Dust and rocks covered the whole Ancient Stadium. Some of the Torches were destroyed which means that some of the areas were completely dark. Most of the prisoners were shivering in fear when they felt and saw the attack from the Behemoth.
While the prisoners were shaking in fear, The 5 Strongest Prisoners stares at the monster with cold eyes. To think that the Behemoth in front of them tried to ambush them with its tail. While the Prisoners were thinking about the strongest, 2 figures that were on the ground were thinking different things.
"That hurts." Leo muttered. A graze was seen on his shoulders, This was the first time Leo got hurt. He would mostly dodge the monsters and didn't bother blocking them. This was why Leo's body didn't have the same texture as the other prisoners since he didn't bother taking the blows from the monsters. Of course, There were some students like him and Alex was included in it.
Alex was below him, She was looking at him with her Crimson Red eyes. She was obviously switching her stare from Leo's face to his injured shoulder. She knew that she could've died if Leo didn't for her to get down on the ground. She sighed with this in mind and spoke with a calm and soft voice.
"Thanks for saving me but why did you save me?" Alex asked, She was looking at Leo with her Crimson Red eyes trying to find out the reason. There was No reason Leo would save her or help her, After years of experience. Alex already knew that there must be some deep within any human that holds a reason for why a human does things.
"I don't know, maybe it's just a Spur of the moment." Leo said with a smile, There was absolutely no reason for him to try to help or save Alex. But there was something unknown that was deep in his heart that force him to save Alex. He didn't know what this hidden unknown thing was. Was it his interest in Alex? Or something more than that?
"A Spur of the moment, That is a good reason. I can see that you are not lying, sorry for denying your request before." Alex said with a sorry face, This was the first time someone tried to help her without any motives. At least this was what she felt since she cannot feel any lie coming from Leo himself.
"I understand the Rejection, I am not the type of guy that would ask a favor for saving someone in a Spur of the moment." Leo said while shaking his head. He was sure that it was a Spur of the moment, He would obviously ask a favor if that was his focus but if the situation was something he didn't think of. He wouldn't ask something so with this fact, Leo did not plan on asking something towards Elizabeth.
The Two of them were in silence, Alex just went quiet while Leo also went Quiet. The Two of them were staring at each other, It seems that Leo and Alex were having time on their own. Probably ignoring the hell that was happening outside their zone. Leo, who was staring at Alex had a lot of his mind.
'It is weird for me to have a Spur of the Moment.' This was what Leo thought, It needed a reason for something like this to happen. He cannot accept an unknown situation that happened to him with his life at stake. During his years as a survivor, There was absolutely no Spur of the moment things.
"You two alright?" Douglas shouted towards the Two, They were still in the same position. The Prisoners turning their heads saw the two of them, Most were shock while some even ignored the Behemoth in front of them. The Other strongest Prisoners were also surprised at the position the two were going.
"So Leo is the type to dominate a strong-willed woman, That is surprising. My Mother taught me a lot of things and with this image in front of me. Guessing Leo's personality would be easy." A Cute voice could be heard, This voice came from the LOLI Amelia. She was currently carrying her weird hammer while observing Leo and Alex.
"Ahem, This is not the time to do that kind of thing." Grover said towards the two that were still on the ground. Leo and Alex finally notice that it was time for them to get up from the floor. Leo was the first to get up while Alex follows him, He began taking out the dust on his clothes while Alex also cleans her own clothes.
"My First Friend." After Alex cleaned her clothes, She then stares at Leo's Blue Azure Eyes and began to take his hand. She then shook it and spoke the words she didn't imagine speaking. It was obviously noticed by the Prisoners but they just ignored the two. Leo was surprised, He then smiles towards Alex and spoke calmly.
"My First Friend." Leo said with a smile plastered on his face, It seems that the two of them had managed to reach a middle ground. After Handshaking, Alex then picks up her sheath and her Katana that was on the ground. She then left and heads towards the group of Prisoners.
The Alarms still echoed throughout the whole Ancient Stadium, It didn't even stop for a moment. Leo followed Alex while also picking up the daggers that he threw in order to jump and save Alex. He was still smiling but it slowly disappears, Although inside his mind he was reminded of the moment.
"It was worth it after all." Leo didn't know why but deep inside his heart. He felt like he just accomplished something impossible. He didn't know where this feeling came from, He was sure that it was rare for him to have this kind of feeling. He just shook his head and he finally arrives in front of the Prisoners that were waiting for him.
Alex seems to be asking around the Prisoner group, It seems that she was asking for cloth. Realizing the reason made Leo surprised, He just leans on some wall that wasn't destroyed by the Tentacle. The Monster began moving but another surprising thing happens.
A Metallic Clang was heard, This sound came from the ceiling of the Ancient Stadium which was quite high. possibly 65 meters in height, from the ground towards the ceiling. It was a weird sound but a while later it was finally revealed. A lot of the areas in the Ceiling open themselves, Revealing a large number of big guns.
Miniguns, MachineGuns, Rocket Launchers, Anti Tank Gun, Artillery, And Even Auto Cannons were included. It was a magnificent sight to behold, The Prisoners were surprised that there was something like this inside the Ancient Stadium. A sound then echoed in the Ancient Stadium.
