Chapter 4: Nener felt better

"How do you feel?"

"Weak. Spent." I reply.

"That's to be expected. You are actively leaking aura. Let's go to the yard. I'll teach you Ten." Tsezguerra suggested.

I nodded and followed. The rest of the day was spent on learning the basics of Ten. It was easier than I expected. But that could be because I had been meditating regularly to try and open my nodes myself for the past year.

My leak controlled, we returned to the castle and retired for the day.

Tsezguerra had never seen something so bizzare in his life. The boy had learnt Ten in less than an hour. It was truly haunting. The difference in talent between them.

He had taken 5 months just to maintain his Ten. The boy had done it in 56 minutes. The world was unfair and Tsezguerra had just had another taste of the bitterness that had characterized his life so far.

He couldn't wait to see what he would grow up to do.

The next morning, they assembled in the living room again.

As he stuffed some breakfast into his mouth, he continued.

".....Now what you do next is go to the village and use the Angels Breath to heal them. Then they'll give you the Wild Luck Alexandrite."

"Don't we need Angels Breath to heal my wife?" Asked Mr. Battera.

"You can always just use Mimic to get another one. Now with that, all the cards are assembled and they'll announce it to the whole island. From there its pretty simple. You get the special binder, transform an Accompany into another card, add a Paladin's Necklace and get out."

He finished and called for seconds.

"Thank you. Thank you so much. Just one more thing. How do I get my hands on a Poor Man's Rose?"

"I'm sure you'll find a corrupt official in NGL. They won't miss one of these. Especially if their pockets are well lined." He replied, as the butler got him a second serving of breakfast.

"And what's your account number?"

"I don't have one. Make one for me and send me the details. Here's my mail id." He handed them his contact info.

"Okay. Do you want some breakfast packed or..?"

"No. No s'fine." I say.

I shook his hands as he led me to his airship.

"Where will you go now?" Asked Tsezguerra.

"Split mountain first and then, Heaven's Arena."

"Tell the pilot about it and he'll do the needful." Said Mr. Battera.

"See ya!" I say, waving them goodbye as the airship lifts off.

I didn't immediately return home. If Tsezguerra finds out that I truly have no backing, I could put my family at risk. And I had grown quite fond of them too. No, I need to make him think that I was part of some nefarious secret organization while gathering enough strength to protect what I care about. Only then can I be free of worry.

'Sorry Mama but your little boy will have to be away for a while.' I think as the ship moves to my next target.

Time for my next plan. Time to get a pet horned bear but before that, I need some spidereagle silk.

Two days later, I arrived at my first stop.

Walking to the edge of the ravine, I jolt back with fear. I never had a phobia of heights but damn was this ravine steep.

I sheepishly step down the ravine, clinging to the spiderweb lines.

Foo... haa...foo...haa.

I breathed heavily. The heights, jet lag and the sheer difficulty of slinging across overhanging web lines was getting to me.

I spotted the bunch I was targeting and jumped down onto it. I took out my knife and gently cut out a bolt of silk and wrapped it snugly around me.

Next stop, Raoul mountain.
