Chapter 10: Save Log 8: The Tale Of The Dark Knight and The Double Reunion!
" Flaming blade!"
" Dark Slash overdrive!"
The dark slashes and the burning flame sword clashed with each other which created a huge impact. The two figures fighting in the dark tunnel were blown away by the impact. One of the figures was emitting light from it's purple metal armor.
" You are not as bad as I thought.", said the demon general.
" I was going to say to you."
" No one could drop my hp lower than 70%. I expected nothing less from the Purplehood family. But, you are pretty beat up yourself."
" Hahaha. This is nothing. I can keep going."
" Blade of Darkness!"
" Knight's fury. Thousand sword swipe!"
The swords again clashed together in the darkness. The walls rumbled and destroyed, the ground cracked. But we stood still and fought.
" Darkness thrust!"
" Lighting thrust!"
Lighting sparked all over the place and the dark aura spread around as well.
" Shadow Longsword technique.", the sword that the demon was holding grew taller and went past Joro's shoulder.
" Fiery Blade!"
Joro swiped the sword upward to push the demon above. But he teleported to somewhere else.
" Is that all you got?", said Joro breathing heavily.
" Maybe….but I think we should stop fighting."
" Are you afraid to fight with me?"
" Of course not. But I have an offer to give you."
" You are not going to attack me after getting distracted?"
" You may rest assured that I won't attack you from this moment."
" …….What is the offer then?", said Joro.
" You want to defeat the demon generals right?"
" Indeed."
" I also have the same goal to defeat all the demon generals.", said the demon.
" Are you mocking me? You are the 3rd best general of the demon lord, Draken. Why would you want to defeat your own co-workers?
" I have my reasons. I left the army of the demon lord to get my revenge on them. So, I would like to offer you to join me and defeat the demon generals. I have no intention to defeat the demon lord.", said Draken.
" Wait, he said what?", I asked.
" He offered me to join him to defeat the generals."
" Why would he do that?", said Lina.
" Well, you see. When he was in the demon lord's army, he was bullied."

There was an awkward silence in the tunnel. A torch was silently illuminating our surroundings.
" He was…..bullied?", said Furara.
" Maybe we heard that wrong."
" No, you heard it well enough.", said Joro.
" I was being called by my co-workers shortie!", said the demon. The voice was enough for the work done. So terrifying and tense.
We looked at his body which was hidden in the darkness. He was freaking taller than all of us including Dermin. Why the heck would someone call him shortie?
" You seem like a tall person to me.", said Furara.
" That's not his actual size. You will see it soon. But let's continue from where we left. 'Ahem' Then I said, 'Why do you want me to help.' He replied that he needed a human or any kind of body to make himself more powerful. A certain issue of his could be solved by that. Since he agreed to help, I said, ' I will give you my body but don't hurt any other humans.' 'You may rest assured.', he said. "
" After that, he used magic to get inside my body. But, it went wrong."
" Why?"
" He didn't tell me that he had an anti-demon charm placed on his body. I knew that to use this magic properly one needs to spend a lot of energy. So, I used my all I got to infuse with his body. The charm broked and Joro died in the process."
" Ser-seriously?"
" Yes, but I turned to an undead afterwards."
" Oh I see…..", said Furara.
" But, even if I got a body now, the reason why I needed one wasn't fulfilled.", said the demon.
" Why?"
" I'll show the reason why he needed a body.", said Joro.
Joro took a step toward us from the dark. He was slowly coming into contact with the light. I don't know why but the more he approaches us the more gets shorter. Once he came closer to the torch, he was now half the size of my body.
" He….shrinked?"
" Yes, Draken is the demon of darkness. He is almost impossible to defeat in the darkness. But once he gets in contact with light, he shrinks and loses strength."
" My actual size is like the size of a small doll. That's why all the other demon generals insult me calling 'Shortie'", said the demon.
" Like a doll? That's so cute!", said Lina.
" Are you trying to get us all killed?", I said.
Draken gave her a murderous glare. She flinched and apologized.
" He wanted a body so that he won't shrink?", said Furara.
" Yes, that's right. But since I died and turned into an undead, the effect of getting shorter in contact with light applies on me too as you can see. Also, his power is now weaker than before."
Now this is messed up. Their whole plan failed just because of a charm?
" But why are you staying here in this tunnel?", asked Lina.
" I guess he shrinks and can't get back easily.", I said.
" No, at night it's all dark. He can come back if he wants to.", said Furara.
" Oh yeah, you are right Furara. He could come back during the night."
" There is also a reason. Dermin will you mind?"
" Not at all master.", the silent butler finally spoke after a long time.
" Oh Old man Dermin. I thought you were not with us."
" Joro-sama can't get out of this dungeon because this dungeon hides the location where Draken is. Once he gets out, the other generals will know his location and will head this way. There is a chance that they attack the town."
" Draken was hiding from the demon lord for a long time now. There is a chance that the demon lord is looking for him since he is one of the best generals of his army. I didn't know if I could defend the town alone from the demon general. That's why I stayed here and waited until someone strong enough to defeat me. So that I can defend the town from the demon general. I didn't my town people and my maids being slaughtered by the demons."
I see, so that's why he didn't want to go back with us when we told him too. He cared about the people and his maids. Here I thought he was just a jerk who likes to hit on women.
" I'm glad that you have defeated me, Furara and Lina. Now I am confident that I can defend the town accompanied by you."
" I'm also in this party you know?"
" Ah yes, you too….Haniro."
" It's Hanjiro."
" But, we don't know how to defeat the other generals. We are just lucky enough to defeat you."
" Don't worry. I know all of their weaknesses and how to defeat them. I will help you with that.", said Draken.
" I see…"
" Sp, will you let us join your party?", asked Joro.
" I guess...it's alright. You can join our party."
" I'm glad you accepted me. I'll do my best for the party.
~Jorken has joined your party~
" Let's go back to your mansion Joro.", said Furara.
" Yes, I will. I missed them so much. Thank you Furara and Lina."
"...... You forgot about me again."
" Thank you to you too Hanjiro."
" Let's go outside then."
We started to leave the mine. Dermin showed us a shortcut to leave the place. After walking down some narrow-paths and passing by some mining rooms, we finally saw light coming from a hole.
" Oh look. There is a light!"
" We are leaving the tunnel.", said Dermin.
We slowly walked toward the light and finally got out. The air breeze over our faces as we got out of the mine.
" Ah finally we got out.", Lina gave out an air of relief.
" Where is this place?", asked Furara.
" It's one of the emergency exits in case there is a mine fire in the mine. This one led to the back of the mine."
" Do you know how to get back to…."
I noticed a doll resting on Dermin's hand.
" Hey Dermin, what's that doll on your hand?"
The doll suddenly looked at me with a murderous glare which immediately made me remember about Joro and Draken.
" I'm sor-SORRY. I forgot that you shrink with contact from sunlight."
" We have to walk all the way from here? Are you kidding me!?"
" We don't have any transport or something.", said Furara.
" Do not worry. Draken knows a magic that can get us where we want in a blink of an eye."
" Huh?", both Lina and I were puzzled.
" Wait, there are only three magic skills like that. You mean…."
" Teleporte."
Blue light suddenly surrounded us and vanished just like it appeared. We were now in front of the mansion.
" Oh, I forgot teleport."
Dermin was going muttered something just like Furara but the doors opened before us.
" Oh, Furara-sama, Lina-sama, Hanjiro-sama and Dermin. Welcome back. I thought I got a feeling that Joro-sama is with you.", said Aneca after bowing to us. Aneca's face was bright when she opened the gate but now it's sad and gloomy.
" I'm indeed with them Aneca."
"! Joro-sama."
" Yes, it's your Joro alright. Don't be alarmed. He is short for a reason.", said Lina.
" Welcome back Joro-sama. We were all waiting for your arrival."
The doors of the mansion flung open suddenly and the maids started to come to the gate.
" Oh my….."
" Never saw any maid to act like this when their master returns.", said Furara.
" Welcome back Joro-sama. We are glad for your arrival."
All the maids bowed before Joro. All their focus was on Joro.
" Hahahah! I'm glad to see you all again."
" Please come in and have some rest. We will prepare your bath and dinner.", said Furorem
" I will thank you. Come in too, Furara and Lina."
" Al-alright."
Furara and Lina went ahead. That guy forgot about me again. He really is just a jerk who likes to hit on women.
" Joro-sama. Joro-sama. I took care of the flowers with others so you can see them bloom when you return. Did I do a good job?", said Shinon.
" I also helped with the flowers too.", said Lola.
" Now now. Joro-sama was on a long journey. He needs some rest first.", said Rebede.
" You two did well. The flowers are more beautiful than the time I left home."
Both Lola and Shinon giggled and smiled back. Emona was standing beside them with her cheeks a bit red which no one could easily.
" Emona, you are blushing? I thought you don't feel anything."
" No, I'm not. I'll push you out of the bed if you say anything else."
What the heck…..
We were escorted into the mansion. Well, Joro and the other two were. I just followed them from behind. The maids were surrounding Joro and we were ignored by them completely. They all asked him if he needs anything, if he wants to eat anything or not. Furara, Lina and I were watching the show until Joro called out Lina and Furara. They left my side and now I am all alone.
" Feeling alone?"
I got shocked and flinched. I turned around and discovered Rebede standing beside me.
" Oh Rebede…"
" Don't worry Hanjiro-sama. I'll give you company next night. Please, bear yourself until then. Hehehe.", she said, gazing at me with her lustful eyes.
" Ne-next night? What do you mean by that?"
" You will see.", she winked at me and then went away.
" What is she going to do with me?"
Time passed by and night fell. The dining-room was illuminated less to keep Joro's size of a human. There were many dishes. Cakes, fried and grilled fishes, kuckler meat, bull meat, pudding, salads, rice, yogurt, ham and others. I only took some rice with kuckler meat and salads.
" How is the meat Joro-sama? I made it with Aneca nee-chan.", said Lola.
" It's delicious."
" What about the yogurt Joro-sama? Emona and I made it with Bustina.", said Shinon.
" I'll try later."
" Heh, looks like Joro-sama didn't like your dish.", said Lola.
" No. He hasn't tried it yet."
" Now, now. Don't fight with each other."
" Yes! Joro-sama.", said Lola and Shinon. I continued to eat my food.
" Anyway, how is the food Furara-san and Lina-san?"
" It's pretty good. I love the fish. Cuz I'm a cat. Nyahahaha.", said Lina.
" I liked everything."
" I see. I glad you two liked it. Hmm...why are you sitting so far away Hanjiro?"
So, he finally noticed me. I am sitting at the farthest end of the table with a candle litten beside me.
" Don't mind me. Also, the food is good."
" Don't be shy Hanji. Come here and join us."
Heck of a traitor. Asking me to join them after leaving my back. I feel so lonely.
" No thanks. I'm good here.", I put the kuckler meat in my mouth.
" Are you jealous that we are both with Joro?"
" Of-of course not. Why would I be?"
" Just admit it already. You feel lonely that we left your side."
" I'm not feeling anything. Just eat your food."
" Come join us Hanjiro. You are the leader of our party.", said Joro.
" Your onee-san will hug you to make you feel better.", said Lina.
" No thanks. I am not interested in making you my big sis."
I got up from my seat and went to their place and sat next to Fuara.
" Aneca, Bustina and Shinon, serve Hanjiro."
" Of course Joro-sama."
Furara was eating with her heartest contest. She gazed at my direction while eating.
" Are you alright?"
" I'm doing fine I guess."
" You must be tired after all that fighting. Eat up. You will feel better. Alright then, I'll continue to eat.", she went back to her food and gobbled them down. She might win the eating contest if she joined.
After the dinner was done, the maids took Joro to his room which is in the right part of the upper floor. Milona fixed my bed and went away. After she left, I dropped myself on the bed.
" One hellish day I have gone through. Hope tomorrow will be better than this."
I closed my eyes and finally went to sleep.
" Ready for the third round.", said a voice in my dream.
" Hanjiro-sama. Hanjiro-sama." said a femine voice.
I slowly opened my eyes, feeling a bit cold. My blanket was removed from me. No wonder I am feeling cold.
" What is it Emona and why do you always have to pull out my blanket?", I said to the intruder without looking at her.
" I wanted to tell you that, someone is trying to break into the mansion."
" What the heck?! Why would someone break into this mansion?"
" Please check it out. The others are sleeping."
Why am I the one who should do it?
" Alright I'll go check it out. Do you know who it is?"
" No, but I think it's a demon.", she replied.
" A what?"
I quickly went to the balcony and looked outside. She was right. Someone is trying to break in by trying to break the seal which protects the mansion.
It was a woman wearing a red material artist vest with white leggings. Her hair was white and shoulder length. Eyes matched her vest. She noticed me looking at her.
" Oi! Who are you and what are you doing here?"
" Oh, A human. Open the seal or I will break through and finish you all."
" Why?!"
" You don't need to know human. Open the seal right now before I break it.", said the woman.
N-no way. I forgot about that thing. Once Joro steps outside the mine, there is a chance of a demon to appear before them.
" So one already arrived before my mansion huh?", said Joro standing outside the mansion.
" Draken? Is that you?"
" No, but he is with me."
" I see. Draken-san wanted to use the soul infusion. "
" Damn it. I didn't want to see your face. Why are you here?", said Draken.
" Hmm? The lord wants me to search for you and take you back. But there is another reason.", she put a crazy looking smile on her face like those yanderes.
" I won't return to that place again. Go back and tell that to the lord.", said Draken from inside of Joro.
" I see. Stubborn as ever. Just the way I like…"
" What the hell is going outside? Who is that woman?", said Lina from her balcony.
" Tha-that's Celestia. The Spirit Demon, my fat-father once battled with her.", said Furara from outside with Joro.
" You really aren't coming huh? Alright. Humans, hand me Draken and I will leave without doing anything."
"You aren't taking anyone here Miss Celestia. Use force if you like."
" Hoo. I see. Then how about this? After the sunrises I shall attack this town. If you humans can defend it from me then I'll go away. But if you lose, I'll take Draken and I'll make you all my slave.", said Lina.
" Wha-what the heck?
" What do you say leader?"
" Huh?"
" Do you accept her challenge or not?", said Joro.
" Why I need to answer? You are from a powerful kni…"
" Powerful or not, all knights are told to respect his superior. You are a superior to me since you are the leader of our party. So, what is your answer?"
He has been ignoring me from the moment we met, why is he being so nice to me now? Something fishy going here. But, at least I can admire him for now.
" We accept the challenge. Joro did told us that we have to fight after we found him. "
" Yes, he did told us about that. We got no choice then."
" Hanji, I thought you would reject and run away after hearing this. Why didn't you do that this time?", Lina was terrifed.
" I've changed ok? No need to remind me that."
" So you will do that….very well. I will come back again and attack this town. Until then, Draken-san.", saying that a white light surrounded her and she disappeared.
" Well, it looks like we need to prepare ourselves for another battle.", said Joro.
" Man, I thought we are going to have some rest."
" We have been fighting too much recently.", said Furara.
" Let's hope this is the final one. ( I'm tired of this.)", a gust of wind swifts away and passes us. Again reminding us that we shall prepare for another battle.
