Chapter 2: Entering New Enviroment
Aileen's POV
The sun shine through my room curtains. Riiing Riing rang the alarm clock as I rose upon my bed. I don't want to go to school.
"Aileen, are you awake?" said my mom calling downstairs, "yeah, I think so" I replied as I took my towel of the door hook and walk towards the bathroom.
Roughly 6 minutes later. I get out of the bathroom drying out my hair with the towel and start picking up clean clothes from the floor. Pick out a sweater from my cabinet then putting it on top of my bed as I dry my hair. Put on underwear, then putting on the clothes that I pick just now.
Rushing down the stairs, I started snatching some bread in the table, "why are you rushing?" my dad ask, "dad, transferring is not something I'm glad off, and I actually am very late right now" I said and rush to the doorstep and wear my shoes, "tell Jennifer to give you the aura vial later, I asked her yesterday" my mom said, I stood up, "tell her I don't need it already" I said then got out of the house.
I can't believe she ask aunt Anastasia for her aura when she already gave me enough, I told her that her aura and dad's is enough to let me get through everything.
I'm proud that my dad was born under a tiger and mom was born under the Chinese dragon. In this world, a child will be born under a God, you will be powerful according to the country's belief or the animal kingdom. There are actually three hierarchies, the lowest, faelthan. The middle class, member. And the highest, Elites.
Many value the rankings, and because of it, it also predicts the job one person can get. Faelthans' gets to be a restaurant/cafe/convenience staff to an owner of small business. Member's tend to be public servers to workers of a high rank company. And of course, the predictable elites.
My family of course is listed at the elite ranking with my mom being born under a Chinese dragon which was said to be accepted as an elite and my dad who is under a tiger is also an elite. But they live as a member as they were given a faelthan child, me. It was stated at the strict law that if a family of elite is given a faelthan, they are lowered to member. My family agreed to be a member but others still respect my parents as an elite while their daughter being mistreated as a faelthan, that's why they share their auras to me, just a tiny bit enough to protect me, but kids still know I'm a faelthan.
Anyways. As my family gaining their pride these days, they enrolled their faelthan daughter in an elite school. Faelthans' fail, Members' barely passing, and Elites of course are cleared. I was supposed to fail when I take the entrance exam, but my parents were on scene, the school needs to settle papers to the court as they don't know whether to reaccept the whole family as an Elite or still as a member. Though with all my relatives being invited on the situation, the court agreed that I will only be accepted as an Elite when I enter the school, which satisfy the ideals of my family and relatives.
So as I step in the school grounds, I am respected as an Elite and not some faelthan child who was only lucky. Finally.
I take things back.
As I enter the school grounds. Kids around my age started to sense my weak aura. If you have a dragon or tiger aura and a pure one, it should be strong and intimidating, but mine feels maybe around small animals.
Eyes show bloodlust and maybe some trying to intimidate me. Didn't I mention that elite school's tend to become battlefields in the middle of the semester? Then now you know.
This isn't what I expected to elites, maybe they are member's? One way to know. I rush my pace to get in the building faster.
Inside the building, a crowd is being formed at the lobby, sofas are being occupied by elite looking students, lockers being so noisy as they are being closed loudly, and some even show how their auras appear. But above it all, jocks of this school are so messy as they toss a football around, bothering some members and elites. You can differentiate all of them because they wear clothes that state simplicity and rich. And I'm obviously in the simplicity sect.
"Let's just get this over with" I said to myself. To tell you the truth, I do have friends, on the contrary, none of them aim this elite school as all of them are members, I do have someone I know who is an elite, Alex, and he's someone I don't wanna see again. Trust me.
"Aileen?" I heard my name being called so I look around, I only face a lot of people though and no one state that they were the one who called me, maybe it was just my imagination.
I walk again, squeezing through people, saying excuse me a hundred times. "Aileen!" I ignored the call to the thought that the person who is calling my name isn't calling my attention. "Oh for Goodman's sake, Aileen Victor look around!" And this time, I was grab by a hand and was being pulled. People started cursing but then as they saw the person bothering them, they shut up. I don't know any girl who is an elite though, all my cousins, at least around my age, are boys, so who could she be?
Wait "Goodman? Rachel Goodman? Is that you?" I ask. Well, I am being pulled backwards so I can't see the person grabbing me.
"Yeah it's me. Long time no see, I thought you were enrolled to a different school, you know, the one that is not elite" she said, "yeah, but first, can we stop now?" I ask, "wait a minute" she said and turn right.
We stop at a corner beside a vending machine, nice place. "So why are you here? I thought you don't want here" she said, "I do. But with my parents gaining pride of being an elite, they enrolled me here. What about you? Aren't you a member?" I ask her, "we ranked up just last month as my brother died from an accident. It was unexpected, but the government called us saying that we are now elites" she said. I could tell that she has been crying for like a whole day and night, her eyes are so puffy and look like she hasn't slept for days.
Her brother, Chris, is ranked as a faelthan but he's rank is the highest around the faelthan ranks, he was supposed to be a member as it is allowed but the government accepted that he is still a faelthan. The family wasn't upset in any result and live with restaurant businesses, owning around 6 to 10.
Rachel mention that she want to study here, but she is calm and doesn't want anything related to violence so she changed her plan, but I think her parents took the chance to enroll her here.
"Sorry, condolences" I said and she just shake her head, "anyway, I saw Alex here somewhere" she said, shit, "no kidding?" I ask, "no, in fact, he asked me if you were here too, I said I'm not sure. But by the way, are you registered here as a member or as an elite?" She ask, "I'm an elite if I'm in the school grounds as my family and relatives force the court to have a consideration, and they did. It was stressing for us, especially for me" I said while rubbing my head.
We both walk around, searching for the list of students. She said she isn't sure where I was because a lot of people wash her off the near the bulletin board as soon as she caught her name, she also don't know which room she is. It was true that she can be washed off since she got a petite body and only had an average strength, allowing her to pull lightweight people including me, though for ones that range to fifty kilos, she can only budge them a little bit or can pull them when they are not putting any strength.
"My senses say that the place is still crowded" I said as I saw a lot of people passing by us as we head straight to where Rachel said is the bulletin board, "yeah, I guess we can look at it later" she said and we currently make a detour. We move to our opposite direction, bumping to many students but as soon as they saw Rachel, they started to direct their attention.
Rachel Goodman, if you are so curious of her, she is my friend since elementary. She is a member but supposed to be an elite. Her God is in a form of Lion which is believe to be the king of the jungle so that's why she is really intimidating. She puts her aura down when I'm around her, she said that Elite's aura tends to make Faelthans' dizzy or even have a nosebleed. But who knows what will happen because I don't know, I never experienced it.
Rachel's POV
I can't actually believe Ailey is here.
Before we split up, she said that it is really impossible for a faelthan born like her to pass here, but now she is standing right here. I wonder if she is one of the rare cases.
Rare cases are when you are the God or Goddess itself, you are their reincarnation. Some called them the "Blessed", the government calls them "warrior", they basically use them as an army of powerful people.
There are a lot of awaited Gods and Goddesses, some were already reincarnated and is now listed to the Government. But the most awaited God and Goddess is the God of peace and the Goddess of Destruction.
No one knew where they will be reborn but many countries hope that it will be in theirs', there is also the God of Peace which is said is hiding because he was discovered, I guess he doesn't want to serve military.
Anyway, the reason why I thought Aileen is a rare case because, 1.) She barely feel affected to my aura. There is this one time which I forgot to lower my aura and she was in very close contact to me, at first I panicked but as soon as I saw her face, I was shock, there wasn't an ounce of sign that she is affected. I don't lower my aura this days, the reason why kids in this school are kind of afraid of me, a lion aura is no joke as it is one of the highest in animal kingdom besides the heavenly beasts.
And 2.) It is also a rare case, near impossible, that a kid has none. Seriously, there are only two, even history approved that. One in Switzerland which is said that she committed suicide after fifteen years of trying to live. And Aileen who is with me. The Government doesn't see that as an issue though since it hasn't been any reports yet besides these two, they just called it "unlucky".
Well, as long as Aileen doesn't puts trouble around her, or at least she is safe within this battlefield, I'll try to be close with her no matter what.
