Chapter 2: Revelation
A hero is seen fighting two villains with very strong quirks. One villain can be seen manipulating the ground below him to cover himself and throw projectiles, while the other can be seen fighting head to head with the hero with her sharp claws.
The hero dodges her swipes with ease, without even changing the expression on his face.
'They have powerful quirks. But they're still just amateurs,' thought Kawata as his entire body began to vibrate. The woman swiped her claws again in hopes to slice the phantom hero but it went past him.
In a blink of an eye, she felt a sharp pain on the side of her face. She was hit on the side of her face, launching her a few meters away.
"Did you know… my quirk doesn't only allow me to pass through objects… it also allows me to strengthen my strikes!" Kawata said with a big smile, earning the cheers of the crowd, who were being shielded by the police, they were taking photos of the heroic phantom.
The female villain was knocked out shortly after, her partner was shaking in fear. he started to panic. "G-GET AWAY FROM ME" he chucked multiple debris at Kawata who ignored it and ran at the villain. He used one of the debris to lunge himself at the villain. Kicking him square in the jaw knocking him out. The crowd began to cheer and call out for his name.
"Kyaa phantom please take a picture with us" "that was so cool" "please give me an autograph" they began cheering overwhelming the police. Kawata slowly turned around wearing a big smile on his face "Thank you thank you, I'll only take a couple of pictures" he walked to the crowd taking pictures with them and signing autographs from children.
A news reporter shoved the crowd aside to interview Kawata in a hurry.
"Good afternoon Mr, Phantom, can you tell us how you felt fighting those two villains?" asked the reporter while shoving the crowd. Kawata saw the reaction of the crowd which showed annoyance so he dropped his smile. "C'mon now, is that a way to be interviewing a hero, you shouldn't push children aside." the crowd started cheering for Kawata which made the reporter anxious.
"S-sorry about that, but can we please ask how you felt during the fight with the villains?" said the reporter as he tilted his glasses in worry.
"Well since you asked nicely, I've felt nervous throughout the fight, these villains can still be a threat to me or the people. And I've known through experience that you should never underestimate someone or they'll use your naivety against you. That'll be all." Said Kawata. He did a quick salute and started to run off. The crowd cheering behind him once more.
Kawata went around to some alleyway and jumped from wall to wall to reach a rooftop.
"It's already 5 o'clock… what should I do, katashi is probably devastated that he's quirkless. I'll need to make that call…" Kawata said to himself while looking at the ground. He seems to be contemplating on something. With a hesitant sigh, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
"Boss, yes, I need a favor"

**One week later**
It has been a week since katashi found out he was going to be quirkless. And he has been noticeably distanced from his friends and family. Of course, his friends were curious as to why the arrogant young master was distanced and seemed to be in deep thought all the time.
They had asked Katashi upfront if he was gonna be a late bloomer or something else. At first, Katashi was hesitant. As one of his friends developed a quirk before him. But he thought he should confess his predicament. Of course, it didn't turn out well. His friends had laughed at him much to his annoyance. Over the course of a few days, the teasing went from physical bullying.
Katashi was getting annoyed that some of his meek friends were head-locking him and calling him lessy. And one day he had enough. He lashed out and punched one of his former friends. He still showed his dominance but under his bravado. He was scared. He lived in a philosophy that those who are quirkless are weak. And the weak should fear the strong. It was the philosophy his father implemented on him and his older brother.
Of course, the facade didn't last long as his former friends ganged up on him. He fought back as hard as he could but he was overwhelmed in the end.
Katashi was on the playground lying on the ground, catching his breath. While a shadow loomed over him. It was Tatsumi, the kid he had just embarrassed last week.
A small smile spread on his face "are you here to laugh at me too?" asked katashi, he was also expecting Tatsumi to take his revenge on him.
"Do you remember when I said I wanted to be a hero like in the comics…" Tatsumi replied "in that same issue, Wingman said that a true hero never holds something petty as grudges. And I want to be a hero like him, so I'm not gonna hold grudges at what you did, but I'll show you that I can be better despite being quirkless!" Tatsumi screamed out before running away.
Katashi looked at Tatsumi's back as he was running away. He was bewildered. Despite everything, he said to tatsumi. He still found it in his heart to not hold it against him. And he was spewing crap about him the number 1 hero. But with his character. Isn't he just some low-level thug?
Katashi stood up and went to a nearby swing. He began to think about his actions. He gave up on being a hero after hearing he was gonna be quirkless. But he hasn't even tried. "Being a hero is not just about having powers. It's about having the drive to fight despite the odds stacked against you. It's about doing defying common sense."
As katashi was sitting in a swing in deep thought. He heard steps coming near him. He saw a tall muscular guy. With a huge scar on the right side of his eye. He's wearing a long sleeve white polo exposing some of his toned chest. He's wearing a black suit and black trousers along with black shoes.
"Yo kid, You're the brat of kawata?" asked the mysterious man.
Katashi with a cold sweat. Looked at the man. The man had a huge sly smile.
