Chapter 106: Did It Work?

On Tuesday night, Eden was in the middle of making pasta when the doorbell rang. Kayla and her boyfriend were watching a movie in the living room so she ended up answering it. 

"Eden! Somebody left something for you," she announced as she set it down on the counter. 

It was a bouquet of caramel apple lollipops hastily wrapped in brown paper and a fall-themed ribbon. There was a note with her name on it in messy, slightly smudged handwriting. 'Thanks for hearing me out on Friday. I'm glad I got to see you. –Jonah'

Her heart flipped in her chest. She had mentioned liking these exactly once not long after they met. She was surprised he remembered that but even more surprised that he had gotten her a gift. 

What happened to never seeing her again? Did he change his mind? What did this mean?
