Chapter 37: Roa the City of Criminals Part 05: On Death Row!
As the acid breath hit Connor, Everything faded down.
Without any guard nor shield, It all melted down, from flesh to bones.
{Notice: This time I won't make the same mistake!
Since I know plot armor will automatically activate, I shall prepare souls for it.
It's not like I can harvest souls for it, It's only that I can vaguely aim it.
[Plot Armor] Is like a magnet sucking souls to revive It wielder!
Right now It will absorb the strongest souls close to Connor, that's will be Vanessa, Jack, and another random 2 souls.
If a normal human soul value is 1, Connor right now needs 26 souls! Vanessa's soul alone is worth 13 souls, Jack's is 11. That is leaving us with two random souls.
To avoid as much mental damage as possible, I will exchange Vanessa's soul with 13 random ones from the thieves and assassins. Jack dying might not leave a huge mental impact on Connor but he might be useful in the future so I will exchange his soul with 11 random ones too.}
Connor's inner soul was showered with the coming souls.
Sinking into black, awakening then raging! This is all that Connor will remember of what happened when he was resurrected.

Connor's half-melted body was reconstructed, his soul integrated.

Jumping from the cave ceiling at high speed, Connor punched the worm back with his full strength testing if stone knight mode will change anything.
It was a failure, he felt as if he punched a stone even though the stone armor and the enchantment his hand was broken, a boxer fracture!
{Notice: Don't challenge it in defense nor strength! Analyze finished!
To put it simply it has three major weaknesses if you can exploit them.
Firstly the inside of its mouth is soft you can damage it there if you can get past the Acid breath! That won't be easy since it can one-shot us with it!
The second one is the scales, Just like feathers they are bent backward you can try lifting and striking underneath them!
Lastly, it uses the mucus on its scales to breathe! evaporating it all can cause it to suffocat}
None of them sound easy but let's try them out!
Connor pushed the Monke's stuck underneath one of the scales and tried lifting it.
Sh*t! This thing is hard, it's stuck in place! And it's soo slippery I can't even get a good grip!
As he thought the Worm weaved like a snake throwing him from its back, he hit the ground hard but it was nothing big for him because of the stone armor.
As lifted his head he saw the worm tail heading for him, no time to think Connor teleported above the worm again.
"Can't you give me at least a few seconds!" Connor yelled.
Connor was hit with a stone pillar in his back, as he glanced over it was extending from the ceiling! It didn't pierce his back and bounced from his armor.
{Notice: The titanic worm has [Earth Magic] as well [Poison Magic] and [Acid Magic], this level of magic needs to be kept in check!}
If this thing won't stay put for me to tear off the scales I will try burning it up!
{Notice: I will help too! If it has two targets it's less likely to aim at you!}
[Fire Magic: Fire jet] Connor flew away from the worm, keeping his distance.
As the worm is chasing him the cave started to crumble, shaking the entire cavern.
The monke's staff form shifted into Ariel's golem, for her to be able to fight with Connor!
With how big is Ariel's workload with this move is, she needs to divide her attention.
Ariel can't keep up with controlling the golem, fighting the worm, and supporting Connors magic at the same time. With this, they can't use the same skill, if Ariel is using [Earth Magic] to control the golem that's mean that Connor himself can't use it! The stone armor will keep working since its a magic that is already activated.
[Fire Magic: Fire Enchantment] Ariel's golem Stoney's body started burning, melting from the sheer heat. [Combined Magic: Ariel guise, Volcanic form]
Using the intense fire to keep floating behind Connor Ariel said.
"{Notice: With this, you can't use [Earth Magic] and [Fire Magic], how do you intend to fight?}"
"Asking as if you don't know, Of course, I'm going to exploit the system, It's not written in the rules that I can't use everything, heck there are no rules! If I can use it I will use it!"
[Lighhting Magic: Lightning Enchantment],[Destruction: Damage multieplier]
Lightning arced from Connor's body, lightning the cave up.
I used this before, Like a taser to stun people but not on this scale! I leveled up since last time and Ariel got stronger too, this is why I can output this high current.
I realized this when I punched it, the worm scales are harder than stone, for some reason they felt familiar.
The way they sound when I punched them, their smell, it's like rust!
The acid is corroding them and they release that smell, the worm is probably regenerating them at all times like we do our nails. It has a regeneration skill after all!
Connor extended his arm toward the worm as if trying to reach it.

In the blink of an eye, Connor was pulled toward the worm at high speed, surprising the monster.
The worm faced him with a bit, aiming to swallow him whole, he shouldn't be able to dodge it with how fast he is approaching.
Just as he got close, Connor's body twisted mid-air, shifting his path at an extreme angle! It was obvious that is not a normal way to fly, something pulled him away from the worm attack.
Swinging its tail at him the worm reactions were supreme, an unexpected tail whip, it will be weird if he managed to dodge that! Yet again Connor dodged.
"It's Magnet, you dumb worm! Your scales are filled with Iron and that's the reason they are tough, that also means that they are affected by a magnet!"
I did hit it earlier with lightning, some traces of my magic are still inside it! Using that, I can create two magnets one is me and the other is the worm, If I'm attacked I will dodge with repulsion and if I wanted to get closer I will use attraction!
"You might be a monster with higher reaction speed, but! I doubt you can beat her in a button click contest!"
As he said that the worm was punched with a fiery explosion.
"Ara!"
Connor flew toward the worm back and stuck to its scales using the magnet.
With my magic and Ariel's assistance I can even produce a lightning strike do you know how volts is that?
"Sorry, you're a worm in another world, you sure have no way of googling it!"
[Magic Control], [Lightning Magic: 300 Million Volts flash]!
After a moment of silence, the entire cave was engulfed in a blinding light.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Chdhthththhchht!
The worm screams can't even be heard in the midst of the loud sound of lightning!
It was followed by multiple explosions and red light!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
This cycle repeated times before stopping, and the cave was silent again.

Connor run out of MP and was crushed by the worm immediately.
Connor kept repeating this over and over, slowly eating at the worm HP but she kept regenerating. The only way to kill this thing was to force it to regenerate or use magic until it run out of MP and kill it.

For Connor, this now was like fighting a game boss while having the ability to respawn just a second after dying. Ariel has kept the Idea of how many lives have been lost out of his mind for the time being, since if he hesitated the entire Roa population will perish!
Ariel can read Alice's memories at will, those she has already heard of the other anomalies as she was present at the report time, Just from their abilities description they sounded overpowered more than Connor at the time but now, she has a feeling he can contest with them at least!
Since the worm isn't dead yet Connor's level isn't increasing, but his skills are, every time he dies after using them to the utmost limit they keep getting stronger, sharper.
Ariel, and without stop, have put great effort into learning and getting skills that will help Connor win, or at least die less before wining.
[Acid Magic] has been learned, from the worm's magic.
[Regeneration] has been learned, from how many times have his body regenerated after death.
[Magic Amplification] has been learned, from the constant use of [Destruction] to increase his magic power.
[Acid Resistance] has been learned, from how many times he has been burned by Acid.
[Lightning Resistance] has been learned, from his body being covered constantly with ultra-high voltage.
[Physical Resistance] has been learned, from how many times he has been crushed to death.
[Mental Resistance] has been learned, from him going through death multiple times.
[Fire Resistance] has been learned, from Ariel protecting the golem from her own fire.
[Draconic Arrogance] has been learned from him having dragon blood in his (That he got from Kinryuu) and the fact that he kept on challenging an opponent stronger than him while beliving the victory is guaranteed (As Connor fought the worm, he didn't consider that he might lose, to him this was a boss fight, as long as he can't die he will eventually win, he didn't even see the worm as a threat to him but rather to those behind him in Roa city!)
A hero isn't a title that is given lightly, It carries the meaning of despair to whoever opposes it, Unchained by good and evil, A hero is destined to rise, conquer and overcome! On top of that Connor is the hero of destruction, there is no stopping him!
Boom! BOOM! Ariel punching with fire while Connor is with lightning.
The slowly accumulating heat started to evaporate the mucus, They growled in pain, struggling to breathe.
"Were gonna turn it up until it gets too hot! The dinner is slowly roasted worm!" Connor said as he kicked the worm with a lightning-charged kick, Ariel delivered a burning punch from the opposite side!
Flying side by side, If Ariel blocked an attack, Connor attacks, and the reverse. Working together as if they were one, no they are one!
[Acid Magic: Acid breath] The worm finally recharged its breath and was going to release it at full power.
It has a wide range with extreme pressure, not counting the fact that it's acid. Dodging is out of the question so they prepared to take it head-on!
Ariel stood in front of Connor and kicked the ground, [Earth Magic: Earth's Mighty Edge] She create what looked like a giant sharp blade in front of them, intending to split the breath in two.
Connor leaned with his head on her shoulder extending his right arm to the front and the left to the back.
With his right hand, he cast. [Pure Magic: Mana shield] He created a magic barrier to protect the both of them, [Enchanting Magic: Reinforced ground] he strengthed the blade Ariel created.
With his left hand, he cast. [Acid Magic: Dropped Concentration] This magic will lower the concentration of acid around them and around the blade, [Wind Magic: Air pocket] so he can breathe.
Even if it seemed like Connor used the most amount of magic, it was thanks to Ariel that he can even use them, He made sure to remember that this isn't his power alone.
The worm breathed with a great amount of force, even greater than before, Connor wasn't an opponent she could take lightly, its instinct screamed to take him down as fast as possible.
The both of them clashed, pushing their limits.
The moment the blade showed any sign of damage Ariel would repair it immediately, a single crack can make it snap in a split second. While also keeping track of the acid pressure, the moment it starts to drop that means the breath is about to stop.
Connor is waiting for that opening to unleash the finishing move.
{Notice: Now!} The pressure dropped!
Connor's arms dropped, for a moment it looked as if he was about to hug Ariel from behind, at that moment Ariel shifted back into the monke's stick resting in Connor's right hand.
Leaning forward he gathered all his strength in his legs, using [Lightning Magic], [Wind Magic], and [Fire Magic] to propel himself at the moment the breath stopped.
Lunging forward at blinding speed Connor's goal is one thing, the squishy inside of the worm gaping maw.
Vanessa later described what she saw while trembling.
"The Titanic Worm, the monster that terrorized the entire underground, was ripped apart from the inside! Spikes, fire, lightning, magic, and shards of who knows what exploded from its inside.
When I remember that I live under the same roof with the being who did that to it I just can fall asleep!"
Connor burst from the worm's corpse covered in blood and acid, barely breathing.

Connor was taken aback as he heard Ariel, but a moment later realist it also! The uncomfortable presence behind him.
"This is the first time we meet face to face, Hero!" Behind him, a voice echoed.
Connor slowly turned back and looked at the voice source, It was a skeletal undead with a dark presence, radiating sorrow, sadness, death, and regret. The necrotic Mana oozing from him was leagues above the death knight.
Menacingly starring at Connor.
Engulfed in a back robe with glimmering purple flame in his eyes' socket, wielding a metal staff decorated with human skulls, adoring himself in gold jewelry. Was this just for show? No, Ariel could tell, everything he is wearing is an enchanted magic item giving him buffs.
Connor knew this is the thing that killed Lydia, his rage started to swell, slowly but surely radiating a murderous aura, Connor was out for blood!
"Xaviin, is this mess you're doing?" Connor asked.
"HaHaHaaa! A healthy blood lust, As expected! If you're talking about the stampede I caused it, I have to weaken you first!" Xaviin answered.
"From the start, You were the one who dropped me down here?" Connor asked.
"It was expensive, the earth maw spell, It also consumed a lot of mana crystals to activate I hope it was to your liking!" Xaviin replied, It was the wrong answer, and what Connor expected.
"Fu*k*r!" A deep sift can be clearly noted in Connor's voice, the mana around him started to rumble, he started walking toward Xaviin.
"Hoho! You're approaching me? Even in your pathetic state, you're approaching this Undeath Lord Xaviin?"
Connor walks menacingly.
"I can't feed your bones to dogs if I don't get closer!" Connor replied.
"Then get as close as you want!" Xaviin replied as he took a step forward.
"Close into my [Necrotic Magic: Necromancer graveyard]" Xaviin cast his magic, the entire gave was covered by the shadow of death, a cold chilling breeze engulfed Connor as he watched the countless monsters he killed stand back up, brought from death, including the Titanic worm, the nightmare has just started.
"This is my domain, expanded to the entire area, all corpses within it will rise as undead under my control! The only drawback is that when the spell ends everything that was raised by it can't be raised ever again!" Xaviin explained.
"Hemph! I killed them once, and I will do it again!" Connor replied.
"Haha! Not in your state, but to add salt to your wounds! [Necrotic Magic: Summon undead]"
AS soon as Xaviin used his magic Connor realized that he might not be able to win this time.
18? No 19 Death knights are surrounding me? did he summon them now?
"I called all the death knight that I have raised in my centuries of work, fully equipped, this is my full arsenal!" Xaviin said.
"You seem to be prepared well, have you been expecting this?" Connor asked.
"Not at All, I was raising power to become a lord, now since you appeared, crushing you is the fastest way to that goal!" Xaviin replied.
{Notice: He seems too talkative, try to buy time to heal and regenerate mana!}
"I thought it will take you two daying to get here? Were you lying?" Connor asked.
"I wasn't lying, with the normal route it will take two days, but I sensed that you destroyed my wights, for that I dug straight down instead of following the complicated cave system!"
"So you can see them?" Connor said.
"Sorry, but I can't take you lightly for that this is how I'm going to fight you! Were going to gang up on you and extinguish your life!" As Xaviin said that All the undead moved at the same time, aiming at Connor.
[Teleprtaion Magic] Connor teleported directly into Xaviin's face, swinging down his monke's stick with rage, an act of revenge for Lydia!
Xaviin calmly lifted his hand.
{Notice:!!!} Ariel teleported Connor away from Xaviin the moment he was about to hit him.
Ariel, why did you do that?
"Hoho! As sharp as a wild beast, you're looking less and less like a human!" Xaviin said.
{Notice: anything that dies in his domain will be raised as an undead, but you're an exception he wants to raise you himself so he can keep you forever! He was about to kill and resurrect you as an undead with a single spell at the time, this can work because you are low on HP and can die from a single strike!
If you wanted to be safe try to keep at least a 10 meters distance between you and him to give [Plot Armor] the time to activate!}
As Connor was thinking, it was but a moment, A hulking beetle zombie burst from the ground and punched him toward the death knights.
Some of them were a bit damaged from the war above since they were summoned directly by Xaviin.
The knight death knight that was earlier fighting Leon struck Connor with a heavy hit to the side with his greatsword.
With Connor being low MP his Stone armor cracked as he was flying like a baseball.
Mid-air he was met with several Fireballs, Deathballs, and Lightning bullets cast by the other death knights.
As he hit the ground all burnt up he was met with multiple sword-wielding death knights, they sliced him at multiple angles but were unable to cut him to pieces the armor did its job.
For a finisher, the Zombie titanic worm crushed him on the ground with a tail smash just like the way a human step on a cockroach.
"This is the end, from today onward you shall serve as my thrall!" As Xaviin declared this a golden lightning flashed from Connor's corpse with a boom.

With golden fire healing his wounds, Connor's body healed and he got resurrected at full power.
On all four Connor screamed, no he roared like a raging lion.
" GorrrrWaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" As Connor roared the golden fire got extinguished and he lunged forward at Xaviin like a monster lunging at its prey.
"Interesting, As expected from a hero this will not be easy nor boring!" Xaviin said as got ready to fight Connor.
