Chapter 3: Memories Of Past
Martin was sitting in a college he was a normal boy born in a family of four he, his brother, his mother and his father who was a government worker working in government as a clerk.
He didn't earn much just enough to run his family and get some savings martin's mother was a house wife she was a strict mother who always told him what to do and making him buy all the groceries needed in house.
This was for his own benefit though so he could not complain this made him good in bargaining and dealing with people his brother was 4 years younger than him and a cheerful guy who always smiled and keeps the mood in house happy and bright.
His brother and mother never got along together well, because his mother always shouted on the little boy when he do something mischievous and martin’s brother literally everyday does something mischievous.
One day just like every day it started normally in the year 2030 martin was sitting in his class listening to his teacher he was 22 years old at the time and he had a bright future ahead he was in one of the top 5 places in every test.
He was sitting on the seat near the window when suddenly he looked out the window to find that there was nothing outside the window only darkness but in his class sunlight was shining from outside.
He became confused he tried to find out what is happening and then his memories of lying down in time capsule comes back to him he suddenly thought it was a dream.
'But if this is a dream shouldn't I wake up I heard from Mr. Smith (caretaker) that if you became conscious that you are in a dream you will wake up, hmm this is strange' he tried to remember more.
'I remember the time in outside world flows differently than in dreams so if I'm still conscious it means I'm in time capsule that's likely to be the truth I wonder if I pinch myself, will I wake up I hope it won’t hurt thought martin as he pinched himself but nothing happened.
He didn't even feel pain so he concluded that this was actually a dream and after some time he was able to create chair and house out of nowhere since it was all a dream.
He could feel things and was able to create people out of thin air as time passed he started to forget things from past and was unable to recall what was happening.
He started to forget who he is what he is doing in this place and where this place was he could still think but he had no memory to think from.
So after some time he become unconscious about his surrounding and unknown time passed when he became conscious he was in capsule.
For first few hours He could not open his eyes and could not move a muscle in start he was covered in ice when he first started to wake up but due to a mechanism in capsule it started to evaporate without leaving a trace of it.
Slowly his brain started to register things first he got his senses back and then he gained control of his body but he still didn't move when he started to feel himself.
He started to move on instinct he moved his hand a little and felt pain from his body from the sheer pain he was feeling he opened his eyes.
He could not see anything and was panicking he sat on his place and his bones started to create cracking noises he felt more pain in his body.
Iron bracelet covered his hand for a few second and injected an injection in his hand after that he again fell back in capsule and became unconscious.
After few moments his brain started to work fast his veins were visibly bulging in his forehead his brain was overclocked and his memories flooded like a river.
He was in great mental pain and he could feel it even when he was in coma since he was remembering it all in his dream like state, after few hours he remembered everything.
He was martin flame a college student who worked part-time in a medical store to get knowledge there and start his own medical store someday.
But it all changed when the world war 3 started and he was sitting in his class all of a sudden he heard news from his teacher of a nuclear explosion is going to happen few hundred miles away from his school.
School faculty wanted to send all the children's back to their houses but government decided to send all the children in schools and colleges away in safe areas.
First some student protested and wanted to go to their families but they were told by police officers that their family members will meet them in safe zone.
Most of the students believed in government were going with them but a minority of them refused and shouted that they will not be deceived and no one will help their family if they don't do it themselves.
So they chose to go home by themselves and police officers could not do anything so they let them do as they want.
Most of them knew they can't leave their family like this and go with police officers so they called their families and told them the location of safe zone they were going to martin did the same and told his family.
After ten minutes all the students in college entered the buses which were parked in front of the college and departed from their location.
When they were on the bus moving towards the safe zone they could see something coming down far away in the sky.
It was the nuclear missile which then destroyed the area it impacted they all quickly wore their masks and extra clothes to save themselves from nuclear radiation many were panicking calling their family and praying god to save them.
Martin was no different he called his family again but no one picked the call their home was in the direction where nuclear missile impacted just 7km away from the college.
His father and brother were not at home except his mother. His father worked near their house.
His brother goes to a school near their home so it will take 8 to 9 minutes for his father to come home and pick his mother then another few minutes to take her towards the safe zone.
But the missile hit the ground after 10 minutes of their departure from college there were chances his parents may have been affected already it was a 50-50 probability.
His brother had more chances since his school must have taken him to the safe zone 'I hope he didn't do anything stupid like asking his teachers to let him go home.
Please mom, dad, brother you have to survive' martin thought.
He was in the bus all the windows of the bus were made of plastic and they were shut tight officers in the bus used papers and anything they could find to cover small holes in the windows.
Suddenly a big boom sound and gust of wind came towards them from the direction of the explosion and green gas spreads all over the road.
Students teachers and officers were wearing masks so nothing happened to them and only a little of the nuclear gas was able to come inside the bus.
But martin was in the middle so he didn't get affected by this one of the buses which were moving behind his bus suddenly lost control because one of the window was broken.
The nuclear gas spread in the bus and an accident happened the driver of bus who lost control pressed the break and the bus behind it crashed in the bus and all the busses and cars in the back were jammed on the road.
Because of the accident people panicked and tried to go out of their car and move on foot but radiation started burning them the moment they moved outside their cars and buses.
Some who were smart changed the road and started driving from the wrong way road others followed after them since no one was going towards the place where a nuclear bomb just exploded.
The road was clear martin saw all this and suddenly heard the scream of his classmate he was one of the delinquents who loves to show off every day his name was jack.
Jack just touched the nuclear gas 'idiotic' thought martin in his head and laughed at his misery since he was burning from radiation.
The delinquent was knocked out by the officers and the bus continued moving they were taken in a subway station which was filled with people before they get there.
After they entered the station one by one with caution so that no one else get radiation the officers left the delinquent behind.
But students started protesting saying “HEY why are you leaving 'jack' behind he is also a student and needs immediate treatment we have to take him with us".
But they all shut their mouth when the officers asked in a loud voice "ARE YOU ALL GOING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THAT DUMB ASS IF ANYONE VOLUNTEER I WILL LET THEM TAKE HIM INSIDE IF NOT THEN SHUT YOUR GOD DAMN MOUTH".
No one spoke after that they all were waiting for the officers to tell them what to do officers told them to wait for their turn.
After they were left alone by officers martin goes towards the toilet to do a call to his parents again, in the bus he was calling his parents and was unable to connect with them.
