Chapter 4: Two Weeks
It's been two weeks since I have talked to the man. His name was Ozpin. He wanted to know who I was and how I got into the emerald forest without anyone knowing. I simply told them my goal of attaining some samples or 'seeds' of plants to grow at my 'home'. I had to explain that my 'home' was a desolate wasteland with nothing anywhere. That was also when I got my name from Summer of all people.
*Flashback* *Two weeks ago* *3rd Person*
Everyone, beside 'him', was sitting on the couches in the middle of the man's office.
The Man: "I believe introductions are in order. I'm Professor Ozpin, the Headmaster of this Huntsmen Academy. I assume you know Team STRQ, already?"
'Him': "I don't have a name, but I look after my 'home' as the only person that lives there currently."
Ozpin: "And why don't you have a name? Did your parents not give you one?" Ozpin glances at Team STRQ, mainly Summer.
Summer: "We believe he lost his memory, but we haven't asked him enough to know. At the time we were fighting some Grimm at the tim-."
'Him': "I haven't lost my memories. I never had any, to begin with." Everyone looked at 'him' strangely.
At that moment the elevator opened up and a woman walked in with some files in hand. She had barely heard what was said. She started speaking as she walked to Ozpin's desk.
New Women: "Excuse me, I didn't know I was interrupting something. Now, what's this I hear about someone never having any memories. Such a thing isn't possible normally." She placed some of the files on Ozpin's desk while looking at their 'guest'.
'Him': "Well, that seems to be my case… Now can I have some samples of the plant life here, a bit of everything would be appreciated?"
Ozpin: "We can give you seeds of plants but even a request this small needs some compensation. What can you offer to make this worth the trouble?" He turned to the women from earlier. "Oh and thanks Glynda for the files. I'll look at them later."
Glynda: "You're welcome, also the seeds wouldn't be any trouble at all. I'm more concerned about what we can call him. We can't simply keep calling him by pronouns."
Team STRQ all looked at Glynda, Summer suddenly beamed with excitement.
Summer: "Oh oh oh! Let's call him Lachcer or Lich!"
Qrow: "Let's not.. and Summer you need to lay off that board game. Lich? Really?"
Tai: "What about something similar, just not lich."
Summer: "... Fine... Hmm... What about Lech? It's short and easy to remember."
'Him': "Lech?... I'm okay with that. I'm now Lech. And my offer? I can show you my 'home'. I don't think you'll see much there though. It would be better if I showed you my home once you get me all the seeds."
Raven: "I want to see this 'home' of yours. You haven't explained anything other than it being desolate of any life. That paints only a small picture."
Glynda: "Headmaster, what do you think?"
Ozpin: "I think we'll accept this. Considering that we know nothing other than what we've seen and heard."
*Flashback Ends* *Present Time* *1st Person*
I'm walking to Ozpin's office with Team STRQ. After that meeting, I was given a room and taught whatever I need to know. Their technology is more advanced than the general knowledge I have. A lot of my general knowledge was based on a world called 'Earth' and it was given to me as a comparative to other worlds and I found that the world 'Earth' is sealed away from all other worlds. It was labeled as Forbidden and no one can go to or leave it. Other than that, Ozpin has gathered every type of plant that could be found on Remnant, as they called it. The two-week wait was from the more rare plant seeds. All I had was time, so a small wait wouldn't hurt. Oh look, there's the elevator.
*3rd Person*
Team STRQ and Lech strolled into the elevator and watched as the number slowly changed to the top floor. Everyone walked in and found a few crates full of seeds of different kinds.
Ozpin: "Mr. Lech, it's good to see you're fine. How have the past two weeks treated you?"
Lech: "I've been fine, I've learned about Remnant when I could. It was fun and full of surprises… Let's move onto the seeds." Lech picked up and examined a few seeds before he looked satisfied with them. He raised his arms into the air at a side of the room, slowly another vortex spun to life. The other side shows a much more than desolate land as Lech had described. To Lech, the land was simply desolate. To everyone one else in the room that looked through the vortex, it looked like life had never existed there before if it could support life at all.
Once the vortex stabilized, Lech turned around and faced everyone. He could see the surprise on everyone's faces in varying amounts. Ozpin and Glynda seemed the least surprised.
Lech: "Can I get some help please?"
Waking everyone from their shock, the men of Team STRQ picked up some crates, while Lech grabbed the last ones and walked into the vortex. Everyone followed him cautiously, the first thing they felt was an extreme lack of life and a great feeling from the land that wanted it.
Summer: "What kind of place is this? There's nowhere on Remnant like this for what I remember."
Everyone watched as Lech didn't bother to answer her. He placed the crates of seeds in a pile. He then held his hands at his chest and balled one and grabbed it with the other, like an odd way to pray. He then muttered some words that everyone heard.
Lech: "I offer these seeds of life as our beginning and never-ending."
The world reacted in accordance with him. The blue sun moved faster across the sky to show the full red moon for everyone to see and then back to the blue sun. It kept going until an eclipse happened, a bright purple glow spread across the land as life from seed was giving the lands all the life they needed. The seeds had long been absorbed into the ground.
It had hit everyone that Lech's home was another world and they thought they were lucky to have this chance to make him an ally.
