Chapter 2: 2

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I stirred as I reacted to our alarm clock, as it blared its siren into the morning dawn. Just before I sat up Judy kicked her side of the bed and slammed the alarm button off and so I went back to sleep to enjoy another peaceful dream but Judy's hyper hands intervened and shook me back to reality.

"Sis! Sis! Wake up, or we'll miss the train!"

I groaned, stirring again facing a wall, "Go away...I wanna sleep..." I said lazily.

Then...SPLAT! I woke up immediately, springing upright, only to fall off my bed onto something grey but soft. Then I feel something pricking my whole body until I realized I was drenched in cold water. Oh, my stars! I am wet!

"Sis! get off me, will ya!" A familiar voice echoed from under me. So, I looked down and spotted my sister, Judy, who was right underneath me. With wide eyes, I leaped off of her back standing up straight, scratching the nape of my neck.

"Ivory I'm so sorry, haha!" Judy responded with a hearty laugh.

"You could've given done a different approach to waking me!" I told her, quickly grabbing my towel so that I could go to the bathroom and take a quick shower. And when I was about to go full in, I remarked, "That cold as water, ain't funny Judy!" I scoff, only teasingly rolling my eyes at her childish prank to wake me up, then closed the door shut, only to hear banging on the door by Judy.

"HEY! It's me first!" Judy exclaimed behind the door, shouting and yelling at me teasingly.

"Sorry, what was that you said? Oh, really? You didn't get here first." And right after I said that in full sarcasm, I turned the shower on, with a playful smirk.

Right after a warm shower, I did my personal hygiene along with my regular routine: brushing my teeth, perfuming myself, and having a change of clothes, which is my official Detective clothes, wore a black shirt underneath of what it was like unto a robe, long and sleek colored black, wore a skirt knee-length and then finally, I then wore long black pants with black shoes. I then groomed myself using a comb not to look shabby as if I went through an electric shock. Before I let it slip my mind, I remembered the gift that Lou wanted me to really have so I sprinted to my room and saw the box laying there next to my bedside. I ripped the wrapper apart and opened it. It was an orange ribbon but had a voice changer sewed into it, so I wore it as normal. I scanned more within that brown box and saw a pouched bag having all the utensils I needed, so I wore it around my waist. I then ran to my walk-in closet to quickly grab my technological folded, hoverboard which can transform to a normal necklace.

Let me tell you about these certain items. Firstly, the ribbon: this is not any ordinary ribbon but a special one, because not only can it voice change, but this can track or locate the murderers too. So I think it would seem useful for me to bring it. Secondly, I have this hoverboard that can make me travel to faraway places, obviously can turn to a necklace. Finally, I have the pouched bag where, as I said, all my utensils are in forensic stuff, like swabbers or gloves or etc.

I then spotted my suitcase that laid on the floor next to my desk which was quite near the door. I make my way to my suitcase peering into it in case I forgot or missed something. After that once-more painful check, I'm holding my suitcase's handle straps and opened the door, walking out into the hallway then made a right turn towards the stairs. I then descended down a flight of stairs, only to meet an impatient grey bunny, Judy. She can be an impatient bunny when excited about something after a long wait until she got to be of age.

"Ivory, I waited for you, for so long!" Judy groaned because as a matter of fact, I did take 45 mins to get ready so it's my fault, "Can we go now! The train will come any minute!" So we rushed to the bunny train station and luckily got there in time.

Our parents followed behind as well, of course, along with our bunny siblings. While waiting I looked into my phone getting a message from my dear friend Leo, that he made it to his first cases as an official detective in Jungle town, and I'm happy for him. As I then looked up, right after I flipped my phone off for better awareness of our soon coming train, our parents stare at us filled with worry and dread but also with happiness and love because we have achieved our dreams and wishes. So, they brought along some, what you call, 'souvenirs'.

"So, since you both are going to Zootopia..." Dad started.

"A very big city...um, huge place..." Mom said along with him as well.

That was when Judy and I kept nodding our heads in understanding even though they have lectured us time and time again, but I guess we didn't really stick them to heart, only when they say something meaningful.

"We have brought little souvenirs..." Dad exclaimed excitedly, "Here's a fox repellent, a fox spray and a fox taser." Which meant on that last item Judy and my hands stick right up in defense.

"Dad it would be very, very dangerous when not used wisely," I responded.

"Oh yes, wise words Ivory, keep that up...and uh sorry-"

"Here, I'll take this repellent...to make you stop talking," Judy replied sternly.

"Judy, your dad just cares for you, and Ivory...I mean, remember what happened with Gideon Grey?-" Mom said as she got back that, 'incident' but the 'deep end' never occurred to me right away because it has been years.

"When we were 9...Mom, I'm not a child anymore, neither is Ivory."

"We know, it's just that we'll miss you both. Just be safe."

"Besides, I don't need to bring them with me! I've got my resources..." I then pulled out items from my pouched bag and from underneath my black coat, "I've got knives, guns, and much more in them!" I then looked up and saw Judy make a gulp and my parents stare blankly, "What?"

"Sis, why on earth would you bring plenty of weapons?" Judy screamed in horror, grabbing my knife from me.

"Aw just for defense-" But then Judy cut me off with braking my knife then threw the peices far, far away.

"WHAT! NOOO! That was for my tricks, to trick my enemies, how could you!" But then I thought to myself smirking, 'Welp there's more where that came from.'

"But guys, I only use them for self defense!" I recalled making Judy and my parents sigh and face palm. I then pout, upset. They think I am cute when mad but I am not! Beware. Unfortunately, seemed like it wasn't effective, because they laughed at my impression, all of them.

"Ok, the train is here!" Both of us replied in unison and giggled in joy as we both ran to the sliding doors, but stopped in our tracks and U-turned to hug our family one last time.

"Bye, guys! Love you mom and dad!" Judy and I yelled back with mixed emotions.

"BYE, JUDY AND IVORY!" Our whole family then erupted in tears and joy waving back to us goodbye, wishing us luck and support.

Judy and I then clicked our own music: mine was Blue sky and Judy's was Try Everything by Gazzel, and boy, did we 'try' hard, to get here!

~

We then reached the terrain of Zootopia where all animals of different shapes and sizes and where each population were at different ecosystems which supported their natural adaptations whether it be in winter cold terrains or in Summer hot deserts, everything were in their own place where anyone could be anything.

We then reached our first and last stop. Judy then grabbed my hand and without warning rushed me out there. I then saw amazing things at first sight. Sites of shops for giraffs and elevator tubes for cute little hamsters, normal escalators for the land animals and some kind of water escalator for marine animals and etc. I was so mesmerised by everything that I didn't hear what Judy was now asking me.

"Weh, sorry what was it?" I asked snapping out from my daydream.

"I'm asking if you would want to roomie with me, at my apartment?" She asked with hope, but I then remembered that I had a friend waiting for me. So I frowned abit, that at the mention that I quickly took out my hoverboard which was from my necklace, "So sorry Judy but I already promised a friend that I would stay at her house, so gotta go." But before I left, Judy surprisingly grabbed my collar and gave me a 'bear' hug, and patted my head. To which I got grumpy all over again. I then arched my eyebrows saying, "You still think I am a little kid!" She then laughs.

"Do I? Yes, yes I do." Judy sassily replied, to which I made an eye roll towards her playfully and Judy playfully punched my arm, "Sis, this embarrassing..."

She smiled and said, "Yes I do still think you are a little kid only because I care and in so much, worry for you. Just be careful, ok? Because remember your previous, second cases? You almost died you know, thankfully you fake died and the culprits were stupid enough to not check for your breath." She told me pointedly. Yes, I remembered that second case. I faked my death because it was the only way for them to tell me their plan, for me to record it. Luckily, I got help from the poilice and pinpointed my location for them to find me. It's called a hustle, sweetheart.

"Yeah, yeah," I replied in slack, until I saw my watch, 7:02pm, "Yikes! Gotta go...bye!" I exclaimed in a hussle.

"BYE!" Judy shouted back, which was the only thing I heard from her.
