Chapter 15: Thanks to you I'm in a bad mood now.
I'm at the gym. As soon as the last class ended, I immediately go here. I'm training my endurance and stamina rather than my strength. Right now, I'm using the treadmill while listening to music on my phone.
I'm looking at the mirror in front of me and I see Sando arrogantly going downstairs with his friends. I smirk and get back on the treadmill. I can see that he's staring at me but I pretend that I don't know.
Togawa approaches me and stands beside me. He rests his arm on the treadmill. He asks,
"Working on your stamina?"
I reply while running on a treadmill,
"Yeah, I'm going to rely on my stamina for what I want to do in the future."
He's confused and asks,
"Eh? Are you going to become a professional boxer?"
I shake my head and reply,
"No, something far more important than that."
Togawa tilted his head and asks,
"More important than being a professional boxer?"
I nodded. He couldn't think of anything else and just brushed it off. He then says,
"Get done with it and hurry up. I won't train you until late at night like yesterday."
I stopped the treadmill and I just realized that I've been running for 20 miles in 2 hours. I went upstairs and warmed up then started to train with Togawa.
Togawa gave up after we are done training. He laid on the ground groaned and whined. He said that he's too old for this. We both had a nice and enjoyable conversation while resting. Then I left the gym after I said goodbye to him.
I'm outside the gym and approach the vending machine. I grab the can of soda and then I hear someone is walking towards me from behind. He says,
"Yo!"
I turn around and I see Sando wearing his leather jacket. I'm opening the soda and ignore him. He scuffs and says,
"I never saw you in the gym before. Are you new in here?"
I'm drinking my soda while glaring at him then reply,
"No."
Sando is pissed. I chugged all the soda and then threw the can into the trashcan. I looked and him and ask,
"You're done talking? Later then."
I walked away and then he gripped my shoulder. I could feel it, he's really pissed at me. Then I grabbed his hand and squeezed it. He groaned in pain then I removed my hand from his. I say,
"I'm exhausted and thanks to you I'm in a bad mood now. So don't try to do something funny."
He's relaxing his hand and looking at me furiously. I'm ready to throw a punch at him if he's going to make a move at me. He smirks and replies,
"Heh... I'll see you later."
He left and so did I.
I'm home and when I'm opening the door, Erii is standing in front of the entrance. She's using Himawari's hand to wave at me. She says,
"Okaeri, uncle Azera."
I chuckle and reply,
"Tadaima, Himawari-chan."
Himawari giggles and raises both of her hands at me. I lift her from Erii and I'm carrying her to the living room. Aunt Lisa is busy ironing the clothes while watching TV. She turns around and asks,
"Have you eaten yet?"
I reply,
"No, I haven't. I only had a few energy bars a moment ago."
She says,
"I made some Makizushi, you can eat it. There's a miso soup in the fridge as well, you can reheat that."
I reply,
"I'll do that then. Thanks, auntie."
She nodded and continued to iron the clothes. Erii took Himawari and sat on the sofa behind aunt Lisa. I went to the kitchen and munched one of the Makizushi then reheat the miso soup.
The microwave is beeping. I take the miso soup out and put it on the dining table. I'm eating the food while watching the TV from the dining table. Aunt Lisa asks,
"So I heard you're going to the gym again?"
I put the Makizushi on the side of my mouth and reply,
"Yeah, I want to workout again."
I'm slurping the miso soup and aunt Lisa says,
"That's good, but what about the restaurant? You can't keep asking Ryo-Kun to handle it. He must have something else to do."
I reply,
"Yeah, I know. Don't worry about it, I can go home early and then handle the restaurant after."
She asks,
"Aren't you tired? How about your grades? You just got a warning from your homeroom teacher. How can you study if you barely even have time to rest?"
It went on and on. She lectured me and Erii grinned at me the whole time. After she's done lecturing me. I say,
"You reminded me of her."
Aunt Lisa suddenly stopped. Erii looked at her face and immediately stood up. She looked at me and tilted her head towards her. Then she carried Himawari to their bedroom. I stood up and put the dishes then sat beside aunt Lisa. She rubbed her eyes with her finger and sniffed. She says,
"Of course. I'm your mother's little sister after all."
I leaned my head on her shoulder. She rubbed my cheek gently. I say,
"It makes me happy to see you here, auntie. It made this house feels warm whenever I'm home."
She chuckles and slaps my face gently,
"You little sly fox. You tried to change the topic so you can get away from my lecture, huh?"
I chuckle and reply,
"Damn it, I thought it could work."
We both laughed and then she says,
"Just don't forget to rest, okay? Now go and take a bath."
I nodded and left to take a bath.
After that, I went to the restaurant and helped Ryo. Then we went back home and went to sleep.
The next day after school. Ryo said that he has something to do so he can't go to the restaurant first and will help later at night. Because of that, I didn't go to the gym and went straight home with Erii.
I'm running the restaurant and serving the customer. Then a guy enters the restaurant and waves at me,
"Yo! I'm here."
I looked at him and it took me a while to realize that he's Ryo. He shaved his hair and I burst out laughing. I ask,
"What happened to your hair?"
I kept laughing until my stomach hurts. He replies,
"Shut up!"
He rubbed his head and went to the back of the restaurant to change.
Ritsu comes and goes to the counter. She sits and smiles at me. Then she looks on the menu and asks,
"I want something new, what's your recommendation?"
I observe her for a second then I ask,
"Something that's not spicy I suppose?"
She nods and replies,
"Yeah, that would be nice."
I say,
"I'll make you a Shio ramen then. I'll make sure it has a mild flavor so you can enjoy it as much as you want."
She smiles and replies,
"How considerate of you."
I cooked her ramen and gave it to her. She then looked around and asks,
"Where's Inoue-Kun?"
I'm chuckling and she is looking at me confused. I reply,
"Miyazaki-San, do you want to play a game?"
She's tilting her head while chewing her ramen. She asks,
"What kind of game?"
I reply,
"If you can hold your laughter, the ramen is on me."
She smiles and is still confused. She says,
"I don't know what's going on, but sure."
I called Ryo to come over and as soon as he showed himself from the back of the restaurant. Ritsu coughed and almost spilled her ramen. Ryo approached us and he stood beside me. Ryo asks,
"What's up? Ohh, Miyazaki-San, good evening."
I'm staring at Ritsu while holding my laughter. She's hiding her face as soon as she saw his head and face at the bowl of her ramen. I can see her lips are trembling and I can hear she's exhaling intensely. I say,
"Miyazaki-San, Ryo greeted you."
Ritsu took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment and then looked at Ryo. She tried so hard to hold her laughter so we heard her snoring. She replies,
"Good evening, Inoue-Kun..."
She's trembling and continues,
"I can't..."
Ryo is rubbing his head and sighs. He says,
"Man... I looked like a joke..."
Ritsu pat on the chair beside her and says,
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude but you took me by surprise. How about you sit here and tell me what happened."
Ryo sat beside her and told her about it. The three of us laughed the entire time. She then says,
"I heard about that medicine, and I know it's a good one because one of my colleagues used that and it gave a great result."
Ryo's eyes are glimmering in happiness when he heard about it. He then looks at me and gives me a thumbs up. I nod and laugh at him.
We enjoyed the night and then Ritsu left before we closed the restaurant. Then the two of us went to my house, luckily Erii and aunt Lisa are asleep and Ryo didn't have to show his shaved head to them. We both went to my bedroom and go to sleep.
