Chapter 26: The City of Dead

"Erin, wake up," I felt someone tug my shoulders.

"Erin, we are now leaving." That voice..."Carlo?"

"It's already morning. We are going to leave now." Carlo said.

I slowly opened my eyes. Huh? When did I fall asleep? The last thing I remembered is that Dr. William and I were talking. Then she left and...? There is also a blanket covering me. Hmm. It must be when I'm looking after grandpaps. But then, I noticed that grandpaps were no longer on the stretcher. I turned my confused gaze to Carlo who was eating a piece of bread.

"We already carried him back to the van," Carlo answered when he saw my confused look.

"I see." I nodded my head. As soon as I got up, I started to stretch my arms.

Carlo gave me a piece of bread. "Here. It will be another hellish day, so you need to have some energy, Erin."

"Thanks." I took a quick bite on it. "Very Sweet." I frowned.
