Chapter 17: The Jedi Library

The next day came around and Xytan did his standard morning routine. He had already washed up last night before going to sleep, so he just brushed and flossed his teeth for now. After doing a few stretches and putting on a new set of clothes, he left his room.

There was no class today, so this was the perfect day to explore a bit. Xytan headed over to Viola's room, it was a place he had never been before but she told him where it was. Once he was at her door, he began to knock on it.

"Who is it?" Viola's voice rung out behind the door.

"It's me, Xytan." He leaned against the wall outside and said lazily.

"Oh, just a second, I'll get dressed and cleaned up." Xytan could soon hear her scurrying around, but barely. These walls were soundproof, so if you walked to a certain place within your room, well, in most places, no one could hear you.

Xytan knew she was going to take at least an hour to get ready, so he left. He roamed the temple, the place almost seemed vacant. If he survived it would be an impressive feat worth bragging about in the future. Xytan thought he'd spice up the stories a bit to his future children on everything that took place.

The temple was nice and spacious with refined marble floors with towering exquisite pillars that seemingly held the place up. The temple had sun windows in some places, allowing the sun to cascade into the place, giving it some sort of majestic glow and feel.

Xytan was often greeted by some Jedi who were a little stunned to see him around these parts. However, they didn't tell him to leave, they just told him not to meddle in anything. Xytan smiled and nodded but he didn't take their words to heart because he wouldn't do that.

He was just giving in to the scenery, the last bit of months he could enjoy these moments. It really was a nice place, it was just too bad that the Jedi were too closed-minded. Xytan sat on a bench within the temple, he didn't see any notable and recognizable Jedi.

He did inspect quite a few of them to see their grades. Xytan rarely inspected people and thought he should do this often. After spending some time exploring, he quickly went back to Viola's room area.

And he was right on time, Viola was just leaving her room as he was coming over!

"Over here, are you ready to head to the Library?" Xytan waved his hand and called out to Viola.

When she saw him, she ran over and stated that she was ready to go. With that, they went on their way toward the library.

"I've never been to the library before, it's probably filled with books as usual." Viola thought. She hoped it wouldn't be that boring.

"It's filled with books, I heard that the book have a strange blue glow to them." This was what he remembered, this could have something to do with the Light Side of the force.

"Books that glow-up?" Viola's interest grew a bit as they both walked side by side.

Xytan knew the location of the library, he and Viola would often catch the attention of some Jedi on their way.

Eventually, they came to a hallway filled with windows and dim yellow lights throughout it. There were pure white vase stands against the walls holding many vases filled with flowers. The walls in this hall had strange ancient designs on them.

In this hall, there was a turning point that revealed the door to the library. Xytan didn't hesitate and pushed the door open.

The minute he did, his eyes went wide from the soothing and calm sight.

"W-wow, Amazing!" Viola was shocked. Her eyes wandered everywhere across the room, from top to bottom. Xytan was just as amazed, he had seen it in Star Wars, but it looked better in person.

Xytan immediately caught sight of Jocasta Nu, she was talking to some Temple Guardian. He could tell from the armor he wore, his mask, and the double-bladed Lightsaber pike he carried on his back.

Viola's loud voice of amazement had caught their attention, so they turned to both of the Younglings.

"Younglings? You two manage to find your way to this place on your own? What are you little lads doing here?" Jocasta was surprised before immediately throwing many questions towards them.

"Uh..." Viola's eyes swam around in her eyes sockets, she didn't know what to say.

"We came to see what the library was all about. We don't have class, so we wanted to check out the library and see what we could learn." Xytan hurriedly and said.

"Oh, Younglings seeking to eagerly expand their knowledge, this is good." Jocasta smiled and approved.

Most Youngling would rather play around than do anything like learning. This was especially so if it was the same thing, like the basics.

"This is good and I'm glad to hear it. However, you will have access to learn more later when you're ol—"

"Oh, Jocasta, let the Young people learn, don't you know that this is the best time for learning." Before Jocasta could finish, she was interrupted.

Xytan's gaze reverted toward the location of the voice. The figure was an old man with a lizard-like face and white hair. He used a cane to get around, but it was clear that he really didn't need such a tool to get from place to place.

"Tera Sinube?" Xytan couldn't help but call out. That was right, he liked to spend a lot of his time in the library, Xytan suddenly remembered.

"Oh, do you know me, Young fella? Hmm, I don't remember you, did I forget?" Tera Sinube scratched his head as tried to remember if he had ever seen Xytan, but he couldn't recall him.

"No, No. This is our first time meeting, I just came here to browse around." Xytan shook his head and said respectfully.

" I understand that these Younglings want to learn, but this isn't a place they—"

"Then I'll walk with them and help them, it isn't a problem for me." Tera Sinube said sternly.

'Ah, man, this is why I love this Jedi so much! Such a cool oldtimer.' Xytan couldn't help think, he really loved this character from the Star Wars franchise.

"Alright, they're in your hands." Jocasta didn't mention it anymore and continued her conversation with the Jedi Temple Guardian.

The Jedi Guadian had his hands clasped behind his back. Xytan could tell that he was looking at him all of the time, but this was probably because Xytan was talking.

"Alright, right this way Younglings. The archives containing many records of the history of the Jedi. These records over here contain information on the first-ever Lightsaber Proto-type ever used."

Tera Sinube kept ranting about many events and creations throughout history. Viola listened closely, but Xytan knew about most of these things.

"Nice flashy books." Xytan acted naively and touched a book.

[Do you wish to download this archive? It will only take 1 minute!]

A cold robotic voice could be heard from the system.

"Young fella, have you taken an interest in that book?" Sinube rubbed his chin thoughtfully and asked.

"Uh, kinda, yeah..." Xytan said this and started to touch many different books continuously. Everything he touched would start to download, taking up to 2 minutes to complete. Xytan wanted to reserve these archives because they would be destroyed later in the future.

He wanted to do this to the whole Library, but he wasn't sure if he would get the chance. Sinube had no clue what Xytan was doing, he was touch every single book he passed for some reason.

"An Interesting fella you've become. It's good to see that you've grown so much since the time I picked you up." As Sinube and Viola were watching Xytan act nonchalantly, they heard a muffled voice.

Xytan and everyone turned to see that it was the Temple Guard from before.

"Since you've picked me up? Are you talking to me?" Xytan pointed to himself and said.

"That's right, I'm the one who found you on Correllia." The Temple Guard held his head up high, he was brimming with confidence from what he could feel.

"Oh, I don't know what to say, but I guess, thanks." Even if this guy didn't pick him up, he would have found a way. In fact, he would be able to progress faster if he didn't get taken by this guy.

"You're welcome, you've been graced in learning the ways of the force. This is a privilege that most, in fact, could and would never understand." The Temple Guardian seemed to hold his job to the highest degree and felt dignified about it.

"I can only see your helmet. Can you at least show me your face or something?" Xytan asked modestly.

"Oh, yes, where are my manners?" The Temple Guard took off his helmet and revealed his face.

Xytan's heart shuddered slightly upon seeing his face. He recognized this man right away, at least he knew what he would become!

It was The Grand Inquisitor!

"Hmm, is there something wrong, Youngster? Oh, wait, Xytan?" 'The Grand Inquisitor' grinned.

"No, nothing. I'm just amazed by your nice white eyes, they look great." Xytan calmed down soon after. Tera Sinube could sense the uneasiness in Xytan for a moment before his emotion were cleared up.

RUMBLE~!!!

RUMBLE~!!!

Right as the Grand Inquisitor was about to say more, a terrible world-shaking sound and commotion erupted.

"The hell was that?" Xytan tried to gain his foot from the shaking. Sinube was stunned when he heard Xytan, but he couldn't really think about that. Where was this horrible shaking coming from?

The shaking finally stopped and the Inquisitor quickly put his helmet back on.

"Those quakes and shockwaves, they came from the Hanger!" The Inquisitor was shaken before running off.

Sinube was also stunned and he found that the Temple Guardian was right!

"You Younglings stay here, don't get into anything." Sinube's eyes dilated and he also hurriedly went on his way.

"The Hangar?" Xytan suddenly understood something, it looked like it was about that time.

"This is the best time to get as many as I can." Xytan sighed and continued to download every archive he could.

"Calm down, don't be scared. I'm here, you know." Xytan could sense the fear welling up in Viola after that explosion, and how the Jedi Masters ran off in a hurry and panicked.

"Okay." Viola nodded softly and started to slowly calm down. Xytan nodded and contiuned downloading as many archives as he could.
