Chapter 9: The hunt pt.3

"I'll head back to the coven and report the success of the mission." Selene said, "About how I managed to defeat twelve Lycans by myself."

"I am sure there's nothing to doubt about that," Howard said handing her his gun, "There are only two of them in the world and now one belongs to you. There are some silver bullets left in there so if you find someone handy enough they might be able to recreate it. As for the other bullet keep it a secret for now."

"Thank you." Selene looked at the gun and nodded, seeing the thing in action she knew this weapon would surely come in handy, "Are you sure you're immortal like me?"

"I am sure." Howard smiled, "Why? Did you took a liking to me?"

Selene didn't say anything as she locked her lips with his as they entangled in for a deep affectionate kiss.

"You really do make my heart beat quicker," Howard said as they separated.

"You should already know that in my line of job, I have no idea what's going to happen tomorrow." Selene seriously said, "I have lived for hundreds of years and I might live for a hundred more or maybe I'll just drop dead the next day. So I don't want to involve you in our messy fights so this will probably be our last goodbye. But if I ever complete this job and you're still around, maybe I'll come to you."

"Then I guess, I'll have to wait for a long time then." Howard smiled, "I am sure I'll have someone new by then though."

"It wouldn't matter." Selene said snorted, "I would be there only for the job you promised anyway."

"I see, so take this- I can't have my future employee dying anytime soon." Howard said as he handed her the key to his bike, "Learn to retreat and don't hesitate to escape when push comes to shove. As you learned from what I did, retreating was the only reason I could kill all of them."

"This- I can't--" Selene hesitated about taking the bike but Howard pushed the keys into her hand with a reassuring smile, "I am a genius, so building another bike wouldn't take too long. What's more important here is you being safe. Though I can't promise I won't look for you or won't interfere in between all these Vampire-Lycan feuds, I'll at least assure you that I won't until I grow stronger enough to not fear any of the sides."

"I'll count on you then." Selene smiled, "What are you going to do with the one that's still alive."

"Leave that one to me will you." Howard said, "I want to do some tests."

"I see." Selene didn't question much further, she was a vampire herself and had done crueler things so she couldn't find anything wrong about wanting to learn an enemy. She put her hands on his cheeks looking at him with a loving smile that even she herself didn't know she was capable of, "Take care and make sure not to reveal your ability too much. From a vampire's perspective, you're a walking treasure trove that could supply an endless amount of blood of much higher quality. You'd probably be kept as a pet or would be sold around like a slave."

"I'll make sure of that." Howard nodded, "Though it sounds kinda kinky."

Selene got on the bike and after completing a couple of rounds around the villa, she got hang of the thing. She looked back at him one last time with a smile quickly before she disappeared into the darkness.

"Are you sure you want to let her go?" Roman came limping towards him, "I thought you were the possessive type?"

"Of course, I am but she's different." Howard said, "She's someone that wouldn't be happy being caged up, and besides she has ambitions which are older than even me, so I can't bring myself to ask her to stay. But I know that I'll meet her again."

"She's older than you?" Roman asked with surprise still new to the whole Lycan and Vampire thing.

"Hundreds of years older." Howard chuckled seeing Roman's frozen face as he walked back inside the villa and gathered the bodies in one corner including his ripped arms and set it on fire.

He glanced towards the captured Lycan knowing things were just getting interesting.

"Hey, you gave your bike to that girlfriend of yours right?" Roman came towards him, "So how are we going to get home."

Howard turned towards him with a bright smile, "I didn't think that through."

------------------------------------------------------------------

1918, it was a bright sunny day. Quite peaceful compared to the outside world where the war was raging on an all-time high.

In a vast open space surrounded by different beautiful women, it was all like a beautiful dream. A harem fantasy comes true if you may. They were all there beautiful and petite, hot and blonde, cold and gorgeous, some even curvy enough to seduce you with just their body. There were all kinds of women around him.

It would truly all be a beautiful fantasy if and only if all of them weren't pointing their swords and arrows at him. Luckily in this beautiful moment, he had another guy besides him who was probably just as fucked as he was.

"Talk about a bummer, right?" Howard chuckled as he nudged at the guy who wasn't as amused as he was.

"Tell me about it freak." The man growled, "I don't know about you but if they kill me, I am dead."

"That's what getting killed means." Howard rolled his eyes, "Why can't anyone take a joke these days? Besides dying here doesn't seem that bad."

"Are you suicidal?"

"No, I just feel like I am in the wrong movie."
