Megha's POV

It is a bright morning, I got up from bed and went to the balcony. The birds were chirping and the slow breeze caressed my skin. The view of the garden was awesome. It had all kind and colours of flowers. Their fragrance was coming my way. The whole thing elated my mood.

Last night, I was very scared that Mehul might take out his wrath on me. But he talked in a cool manner, he even apologized to me for his earlier behaviour. Though he was not friendly or normal but at least he was not angry.

I went into the room again and did all my daily routine and took out a traditional Gujrati suit from my bag and went to take a bath. I came out of the bathroom and went directly towards the dressing table.

My hair was still dropping, I took my towel and was about to dry them when I suddenly felt some movement behind me, I turned all of a sudden and my hair swung into the air and water droplets from them landed on... Mehul's face.

Oh my God !! he is going to be angry. I was about to get a panic attack but he just kept looking at me. I didn't say anything.

Though it was a few seconds but it felt like it was at least 10 minutes, when he said, " Are you done, because I want to use the washroom now? " I just nodded, he turned on his heel and went into the bathroom.

I was surprised that he did not get angry. I was embarrassed that the water from my hair fell on his face. I wanted to give a towel to him, but I didn't know how he would react. So I kept on standing there. He was looking at me in a very weird way. I was not sure what he was thinking.

I went downstairs to greet everyone. Maji (Mother-in-law) was in the Poojaghar (room in which we worship God ) I went inside and touched her feet, she smiled and kissed my forehead. I sat beside her and also prayed to God to give me strength to face the challenges of my marriage. Then we both came out and went to the kitchen where bhabhi was preparing breakfast. She smiled at me and asked me, " Good morning Megha, what would you like to eat? "

" Good morning bhabhi, I eat everything. Please tell me, how can I help you? "

" Nothing, it is your first day, as it is, maharaj ji has made most of the breakfast. I was just fixing a few sandwiches. " She grinned. We all went to the lawn. Papaji (father-in-law) and Mudit bhaiya were having tea and reading a newspaper. Bhabhi placed the plate of sandwiches near them and bhaiya smiled at her and picked one sandwich.

I greeted papaji by touching his feet, he smiled and gave his blessings to me. He said, " Good morning beta, I believe that you don't need to touch my feet to show that you have respect for me. I don't want just respect from my kids, I want you all to love and respect me. Both you and Sneha are my daughters, so treat me as you treat your own father " I just smiled and nodded.

" Where is Mehul? Is he still sleeping?" Asked bhaiya.

" No, he was in the washroom when I came downstairs." I replied.

" Ok, I need to go and meet him." He took another sandwich and winked at bhabhi making her blush.

" Beta, Vimal and Sejal will come to take you for Pugphera ( a ritual in which the new bride goes to her parents home for the first time after the wedding). So after breakfast get ready for that. " Maji told me and I nodded.

After about 10 mins Mehul and Bhaiya both came for breakfast and we all sat down to eat. I was about to sit next to bhabhi but bhaiya said, " Megha, I need to sit with my wife, you please take that chair." He was pointing towards the chair which was next to Mehul.

I looked at him hesitantly and he nodded. We all were having our breakfast when bhabhi asked Mehul, " Could you find your name in her Mehandi ?"

I stopped eating, I was sure she was just teasing us. I looked at her and she winked at me. Then I saw bhaiya and bhabhi exchanging a mischievous look.

" Oh!! yes, Mehul do you know Sneha was boasting so much that your name is hidden so well in the mehandi, that you can never find it. But I said that my brother is extremely smart, he would find it in less than 5 mins. We are even having a bet. Tell me you found it..."

" Not possible I know, he can't find it. Mudit you just give me 10 thousands. You have lost the bet." Bhabhi said

" You are underestimating my brother. All he has to do is find his own name in her hand. You go and get ₹ 10 thousand, ok...."

" Ok, let's see if he has already done that. Mehul, show me your name in her hand and you and your brother win. But I dare say that you can't find it. " Bhabhi was smirking now.

" Enough is enough Sneha. Don't you dare say that he can't do it. Of course he can... Right Mehul?" Mehul was dumbfounded.

" I am already saying it Mudit and just to prove my point, I dare you Mehul to find your name in her hand within 5 minutes as your big brother said you can. Do it or I win... You both lose. " Bhabhi retorted.

" What are you waiting for Mehul? She has dared you and me. Now be a man and prove that you can do it. I am really angry now, let's show these girls that we are Shahs. Come on hold her hand and find your name. And Sneha you wait and watch..."

Bhaiya was looking angry now but just 5 minutes back, they were smiling at eachother. What's wrong with them? They are fighting like children over a silly bet.

All of a sudden Mehul caught hold of my hand and started looking at it. He was trying to find his name. I felt some kind of sparks where he was holding my hand. I looked at bhaiya and bhabhi and they were smiling now.

What ?? They were smiling again, just then bhabhi winked at me. Oh, that means they were faking this whole fight. I started blushing now as both of them were looking at us and I was getting affected by him. He was not able to find out so he pulled my hand towards him. He was very close to me now.

Bhaiya said, " What are you doing Mehul? Hurry up brother or they will win. Turn her hand a bit. Or check the other one."

He pulled my other hand too, he was closer to me now. He was holding both my hands. I was getting affected by this proximity. My heart was beating faster. My face was red.

All of a sudden, he smiled and shouted, " yes, I found it. It is right here in the left hand. See it is M. E. H. U. L. We won... I found my name in her hand in less than 5 mins. We won bhai. Sorry bhabhi but you lost now please get ₹ 10 thousand. " he pulled my hand to show it to bhabhi who was standing on his other side.

My arm was touching his body. I couldn't even breath and my body stiffened a bit. He looked at me and realised about the fact that we were sitting very very close and released my hands immediately and looked in another direction.

He excused himself and left the room. Bhaiya and bhabhi burst out laughing. I didn't know how to react, so I got up and went to my room.

I combed my hair and wore the jewellery. I got ready and came downstairs again. Vimal bhai and bhabhi were already there. He came towards me when he saw me coming and hugged me, I did the same. He said, " We are here to take her for pagphera, uncle." He said to papaji.

He smiled and said , " Yes, we know beta you can take her. But, we want her back soon as tomorrow we have to leave for New Delhi in the morning. Sita has arranged Moonh Dikhayi ceremony ( a ritual where groom's family and friends come and meet the bride for the first time just after the marriage and give blessings and gifts to her.) in the evening. Mehul, you will have to go, have lunch with them and bring her back before 4:30 as guests would come around 5:30 PM."

Bhai and Mehul nodded and then bhai hugged Mudit bhaiya and said," I am going to miss you a lot Mudit. Please keep in touch. " Bhaiya nodded and smiled , " I will miss you too... And rest assured I will call you very soon." After that, we left for our home.
