Chapter 36: I will carve my own path.

Liu Zhiqiang almost vomited the tea he was having when he heard his son and for the first time in his life, he felt that he was experiencing the symptoms of a heart attack. "You want to become a ....what?"

"A general." Although Wang Yong kept an innocent appearance, it was quite clear that his eyes concealed a hint of mirth at his father's shock. "Is there any wrong with that?"

"Wang Yong, you are well aware how weak your body condition is. Why do you want to go to the army where there are harsh weather conditions and strenuous physical exercises?" Liu Zhiqiang explained. "Is it not better if you join the company business when you finish college?"

"No, I don't want to." Wang Yong turned his head away in childish defiance. "I don't want to work under my adopted brother in the future. I will carve my own path."

Liu Zhiqiang fell silent, hesitant to say what was on his mind. In the end, he promised him. "Yong'er, no matter what happens, I won't disappoint you!"

"You better not." Liu Zhiqiang felt unknown chills run through his body when he saw his son smile eerily. For some reason, he felt that the Wang Yong he knew in the past was not the same.

When he dropped his son off, he massaged the bridge of his nose in worry and looked at his driver. "Zhao Qin, tell me what do you think about my son, Wang Yong?"

The reason the he had asked the driver was because he had been with him since he was just a young doctor who was trying to start his company, accompanying him to meetings and driving him to all sorts of places. In his eyes, his driver was a shrewd man who had always given him good advice by observing the people and environment around him.

The driver looked at his master through the inside review mirror, trying to gauge his expression. He decided to speak the truth. "To be honest sir, I cannot read your son's temperament. From the outside, he looks like a rogue, always playing pranks and misbehaving. But the look I see in his eyes....."

"What look?" Liu Zhiqiang asked him.

"I don't know how to express it, Sir." Zhao Qin recalled how uncomfortable he was when the boy's eyes met his through the inside rear mirror. "But we should not underestimate him. He may really just be a young naive and frail kid or he can be someone who is just very cunning..."

Liu Zhiqiang stroked his beard in thought. "I see." He also felt that his son has changed but he was unable to pinpoint the exact problem. "Don't worry, since he is now living with us we will watch him closely from now on."

But Wang Yong who had exchanged greetings with a girl on his way to class suddenly laughed. The girls behind her were all entranced by the sound of his laughter so they looked at their friend, wondering what she did to make him laugh all of a sudden. The poor girl couldn't stand the stares lowered her head, blushing fiercely as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her hair shyly but by the time she raised her head, she realized that Wang Yong was already gone.

Wang Yong entered the class maintained his silly behaviour throughout the class. Fu Pei who sat in front of him couldn't take it anymore so he turned around to scold him. "Keep quiet! I can't hear what the teacher is saying."

Wang Ying waved his hand in apology, the action making his friend spot the tiny bluetooth hidden in his left ear. Fu Pei decided to ignore him and he resumed what he was doing. He knew that Wang Yong normally use this to spy on people all day.

Mao Zhi appeared beside him sitting on his own chair, looking at his surrounding with his ears covered. "Ha, where is this noise coming from?"

Wang Yong silenced him, raising his index finger against his lips. "Keep quiet, the teacher is talking!" He kept a straight face when he saw a few classmates gave him a glance, pretending not to notice him. It was the unspoken agreement in the class about Wang Yong's habit of talking to himself. The last time someone had taunted him about it ended up in the hospital for three weeks!

Mao Zhi scrunched his face in distaste. "So boring! Yah, let me tell you something more interesting."

"What is it?" Wang Yong rested his hand at the side of his face, turning his body to the side to listen. He had completely forgotten about the lecture talking place in front of him.

"I followed Kong Zhu back to the headquarters. Guess what? Kúiwù almost beat him to death!" Mao Zhi laughed cynically.

"Really?" Wang Yong froze when he saw that the classroom had turned quiet because he accidentally raised his voice. He turned to face the teacher who held a grim expression. "I didn't know about that, Mr. Bao!"

The teacher adjusted his glasses and said. "It is okay if you weren't aware about it. Action and Reaction are equal and opposite. The proof lies in the case of centripetal force and centrifugal force which..."

Fu Pei glared at his friend who had managed to fool the teacher, warning him. "Wang Yong, behave or else I will report you!"

Mao Zhi stuck out his tongue at him, knowing that he couldn't see him. "Nerdy, nerdy! He will do that when he is ready!"

Wang Yong sealed his lips in front of his friend but began to whisper immediately he saw that he had turned around. "Alright, Mao Zhi you have to go now. I will talk to you later."

Mao Zhi pouted and disappeared, leaving him to concentrate on the lesson in the class. Far away at the side, Meng Huan who sat away looked at Wang Yong who was chewing his pen, looking at with hatred in his eyes. "Freak! Just see how I will deal with you today."
